Warning about Outback Deck: We paid a lot of money (almost $60k) for a new deck and regret using Outback. It took 7 months, communication was terrible, and we ended up managing permits ourselves. The final product has warped/misaligned rails, a too-short board with a gap, and a crooked concrete pad. They promised fixes but went silent after payment. Buyer beware!

I did not choose to work with this company, and was very frustrated as they do not provide quotes, rather you can pay them for a design service then a build. If you know what you want, and are looking for an estimate to help decide who to work with this is not your company. Effectively you can pay them $1,800 in "design services" to find out how much they will be for your project. Sales tactics are all about pressuring you into "their model". I was able to get quality quotes from other quality/ well reviewed companies in half the time it took them to press their business plan on me. They may do great work, but if you are looking for someone to follow a standard bid process this is not your company.

From first meeting until completion an excellent experience. Great design ideas. Totally transformed my deck area. Very nice crew, careful and neat.

Absolutely wonderful company to work with!!! The beautiful covered deck they made for us is just stunning. They use the finest craftsmen to complete their projects and their work is good value for the money. I recommend this company fully and enthusiastically.

From the first meeting with Bryan I had a good feeling and was not disappointed. This was not a large project, still it was given all the attention needed. Bryan, Kris and Ken and the whole crew did a fantastic job and finished on time. There are a few more projects on my list and I will surely be back.

Right from the start, I experienced a high level of professionalism and service. A representative came out to learn what I wanted, made recommendations and made sure the level of communication was high. I was assigned a project manager and an on site manager, who were both always available to answer any questions. The project was done one time, with some follow up fixes done quickly. The price quote was higher than others. However, The level of professionalism, service and quality were all worth the price. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend this company for any deck work you may have.

We used Outback as we hoped a bigger company would provide a better product and experience than a small company. Overall I would NOT recommend this company, nor would I use them again. Pros: the crew was great, nice and professional Cons: from sales to implementation there were many issues in communication, part of the construction had to be taken down and rebuilt due to incorrect installation, the project was to take three weeks and it took over five months, the end result was awful, so we had to pay MORE for the job just to look complete. I specifically asked what we’d need to do after the job if anything, and there were a LOT of surprises. The PM and CSR were very kind and did the best they could do. I believe the issue starts from the ownership. I am sick to my stomach knowing how much we paid and how terrible the experience was for us. WO is their fav acronym - Additional Work Order, BUYER BEWARE!

Did what they said they would, when they would and did a great job doing it. More than happy with the quality of service, craftsmanship and just an overall great deck. Glad the weather is improving so we can now enjoy this new deck.

Terrific experience. Professional from first meeting to last cleanup. If you want the job done right, call Bryan and the Outback team. Outback Deck was personable and professional at every level of my contact with them. From the initial presentation and planning, to periodic updates, to execution of a difficult project, to final punch and follow up. I could not have asked for a better experience. The products they use are some of the best in class, and though not cheap, I got exactly what I hoped and paid for - A beautiful, well-constructed deck without the contractor hassle and excuses generally associated with projects like this. Will definitely be calling on them for any future needs in this area. My standards are very high and Outback met or exceeded all of them. No, this is not a paid advertisement, just a very satisfied customer.

We recently had to replace out 20 year old deck (approx. 600 sq. ft). Our backyard produced challenges in terms of topography and the use of fill dirt when the house was built. My major concern what that the deck contractor I chose would take the time to understand these needs and convince me they knew how to build a solid deck for me. Outback Deck did all of this. The proposal was a book that demonstrated years of experience, a wonderful design that I could never have envisaged, and a thorough understanding of my situation. The project was started on time and, as a result of the types of unknowns typical in a renovation like this, was completed about four weeks later. When rotten wood was uncovered, Outback Deck did the right thing in replacing it (at a reasonable cost). Bryan (owner) personally visited the The project manager was excellent and always close to the project to make sure it kept on track as much as possible. The result is a beautiful deck that will last us many years. I cannot imagine a better built deck by anyone.

I have a 20 year old house that had a wooden deck that was in very rough shape. I had collected about 5 quotes to have the deck replaced, and Outback fell in the middle of the pack regarding price. I went with Outback because when Brian came to my house to look at our existing deck and provide the quote, he went through extreme detail of exactly what I was getting, how everything would be handled, and showed me examples of what I would be getting. The project started about a week late due to heavy rains at the time, but the deck was completed in less time than I was expecting, our project manager (Andy) was phenomenal and kept us informed at every step, and I have to admit that the deck was even more impressive than I was expecting. We now have a very attractive, usable space that I feel totally comfortable with my toddler playing on. I'm excited to be able to enjoy the deck, but I'm also confident that this will help my house stand out from the rest if my family ever decides to sell this house. Outback isn't the cheapest price, but you can rest assured that you are getting the best deck possible with a very professional group of people.
