Dana has a great eye, and helped me decorate some tricky spaces in my very old Baltimore row home. She gave me lots of choices, and narrowed in on my style quickly. I enjoyed working with her!

I'm not sure exactly where to begin, as Dana and Purple Bike have revamped and renovated my new home almost from scratch. I thought I knew what I liked, and I had an overall vision but absolutely no idea how to accomplish that vision for my "new" 1950s ranch home. The house needed an overhaul from renovating bathrooms, new floors, paint, and structural changes (not to mention I sold my old furniture to essentially start fresh). Dana has managed the project with my contractor from start to finish and everything in between. She has seamlessly incorporated my existing furniture, finishes, pictures and accessories into the new home. She selected furniture and finishes for my main living spaces that have far surpassed my expectations all while being conscious of my budget and time constraints. Her sense of humor and ease are incredibly reassuring to a design novice like myself! I believe I told her that I like farmhouse yet contemporary; rustic yet clean and simple; big and cozy but not overwhelming and all in a budget! Whatever that actually means, Dana has pulled it off with much success. Perhaps the greatest compliment is Dana takes the time to get to know YOU. Her selections are such a thoughtful reflection of my family and me. My happiness and comfort are her priorities, yet she knows just when to stand firm and encourage me to see the entire picture (she's always right). This is the fourth house I've owned in my life, and Dana has made this my first true home. I look forward to more projects with her, and I have recommended her to everyone I know...especially my friends who have delivered many high compliments on my new home!

Dana is super talented, creative, fun and easy to work with. I have not worked with a decorator before and she has helped give my house a much needed refresh. The contractors she has worked with have been reliable and considerate. Have been a great experience.

Hi hired Dana from Purple Bike after a long search for designers when my family and I moved from Atlanta to Greensboro. I had worked with a designer before, so I knew what I was looking for. We were essentially starting from scratch having sold most of our big furniture prior to the move, so it was a large project (nearly the whole house). Dana went beyond my expectations. She was open, creative, smart and we meshed easily. She took my input, our conversations and all the questions from her questionnaire new clients have to fill out and gave us exactly what we were looking for, in initial design concepts and our end result. My style is a blend of several and Dana helped us pick the perfect pieces within our budget. She never pushed for more expensive or for a certain vendor or store. She never overruled if I had my heart set on something, but she always told me what she thought (and she was right pretty much all the time anyway). She turned me on to stores I never knew existed and sourced things for us from all over. Her fees were reasonable, well worth it. I know I drove her nuts, but she was always responsive, sweet and helpful. She pushed me to consider unique parings of things, paint colors, etc. I wouldn't have thought about and the result is a home that is "us." I love my new home, my boys love their new rooms and we get soo many comments from people who visit about how warm and cozy the house is. And the best part is, everything is comfortable, not just pretty. I will be sad when we're all done. I consider her a friend now. Thanks so much, Dana! :)

Dana designed both my dining room and basement space. Both projects, I was at a complete loss on how to design the spaces. Dana knew immediately what to do. She understood what I liked and quickly came up with ideas to fill the spaces. She is a true professional and wonderful to work with! I look forward to my next project with her.

Dana at Purple Bike Design is incredible at design. Dana has designed the entire first floor of my home and my work office. I can't even buy sheets without asking what she thinks! When I say "designed my first floor", I mean she did everything! We redid the entire kitchen (counters, lighting, backsplash, painted cabinetry), built a mantel for the fireplace, added wallpaper (that's amazing), refinished all the floors (with a custom color we designed ourselves), custom roman shade window treatments & curtains, painted every wall and door and completely furnished the whole thing. She puts patterns, colors and textures together that I couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams and they all seem like they were made for one another and the space. Every thing in my home is so beautiful and original - I can't imagine it any other way nor could I imagine having done any of it on my own. Dana knew my style better than I did! She had the patience to work with me in my moments of indecisiveness and listened thoughtfully to everything. All modesty aside, my home looks gorgeous and everyone compliments Dana's work when they come over. I could go on and on and on.... I would be happy to recommend Dana to anyone needing a simple design to a complex redo!

I hired Purple Bike for a hybrid snap design/custom design job. It was my first experience with a designer and it was an extremely positive one. We got design plans for two rooms and advice on items for several other rooms. The design plans included mood boards, links to specific items, advice on details like sizing for art and window treatments, and all other kinds of helpful hints. Working with the owner, Dana, was really wonderful. She was warm and friendly, great at sharing ideas and also at listening to my gut reactions and preferences. She was quick, clear and thorough in all of our communication. And, she has tremendous resources at her disposal (contacts and discounts at numerous online and brick-and-mortar retailers). I can't say enough good things about Dana and Purple Bike. If and when I can afford to redecorate another part of the house, I will definitely hire them again.

Dana took a huge mess and turned our living room into a magazine ready, homey design. We had some great pieces, a difficult wall color and a large open space. Dana used our photos and measurements and produced a design that incorporated our entire wish list. Dana selected various pieces and offered us numerous options to complete our look.
