About Us

We love graceful, uncomplicated design that just feels right, works right, looks great-now and in 50 years- from a piece of furniture, to a room, to a home. Our architecture uses materials in compelling, inventive ways that are practical and transcendent. We take the particular constraints and limitations of each project to generate opportunities to create great architecture. Rodríguez studio was founded in 2004 to focus on intimately scaled projects in which our clients' perspectives and lifestyles are integrated and celebrated by design. Collaboration and interaction are central themes in the studio: the collaboration between client, architect, and the project team; and the interaction of materials, site, and experience. Rodríguez studio is a member firm of the US Green Building Council. We are licensed to work in New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico.

Terrible experience. Would never hire again or recommend to my worst enemy. Hired to renovate a small studio and it still isn’t done after several years. The construction took four times longer than the schedule under the contract. He was the most expensive architect of everyone I interviewed but I hired because I trusted him. Big mistake. He never even came to meet with me to do an inspection. Words can’t describe how disappointed I am. Shameful.

Estudio Rodriguez was introduced through a contact, but ultimately selected after interviewing other potential architects and finding they were the best fit for our project. The team worked really well, not only providing all the specifications for the work to be done by the contractor, but also suggesting alternatives and improving the layout to best fit our needs. Carlos and team worked very diligently interacting with the contractor throughout the entire renovation and guiding us through the process from beginning to end. They were extremely professional and knew the process so as to manage our expectations very well. I certainly recommend Estudio Rodriguez and I would be happy to work with Carlos and team again.

We used Rodriguez Studio to redesign, expand and renovate our beach house in Southampton, NY. Carlos and his team were thoughtful, comprehensive, flexible and incredibly accessible throughout the process. We weren't always easy to work with and the patience and commitment of the team to making us happy was always apparent. Their construction documents were over and beyond, 35 pages of thoroughness and attention to detail. Our renovation is now under way and we can't wait to see their amazing design become a reality.

I would hire Carlos in a second to design my own home, his strengths are innovation and attention to detail. I do not recommend many but I would not hesitate to use Rodriguez Studio

I cannot say enough great things about Carlos Rodriguez and his colleagues at Rodriguez Studio Architecture. They worked magic in our home, transforming the entire space with their renovation in a timeless design that just makes us all happy :) After hiring his for our residential renovation, I then hired him for the renovation of my office, an open plan space for a team of 12 in midtown, and he did an incredible job there as well. Carlos' eye and design sensibility is flawless, his manner very warm and down-to-earth, and his integrity is impeachable. He made the whole renovation process a breeze, all things considered, because of his innately elegant and workable design and his great follow-through on every aspect of execution. If you are considering hiring this company, you will not be disappointed.

We had an architectural challenge: combine 3 small studio apts, keeping one as essentially a separate apt, but also integrated into the other two. Also, we had a lot of windows, but all on the same side and wanted to maximize bedrooms... Rodriguez studios did an amazing job. Using a sliding wall and hideaway doors, we're able to close-off a bedrooms area or keep it open for a more loft feel. The details are fantastic, including the sliding wall which has 3 large circles cut out to allow light. Storage space is also cleverly maximized, which is great. Rodriguez studios over-delivered and put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the project.

Carlos Rodriguez of Rodriguez Studio was a perfect fit for my needs. I gutted a small apartment in New York which required various filings with both my building and the city of New York. Carlos worked with my interior designer and me to refine our ideas and get them down on paper, shepherded the plans through the NY Department of Building and got the C of O quickly at the end of the project. Rodriguez Studio was always available and responsive to questions and phone calls which was enormously helpful and their work was on budget and quickly completed. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Commented: shoji sliding doorsThey are from a company called EFCO (exact finish company). But many companies- like Sliding Door Company- make similar doors. They are aluminum framed. good luck
