Earth Sky Builders is based in Decatur, GA and led by Russ Carnes, General Contractor. Our team brings over 40 years of collective experience to your project. Our approach is collaborative with you, and with each other, so that when we get going, good ideas that come up can be developed and implemented where possible. Our team of accomplished carpenters, painters, and artisans are always up for a challenge, but we focus primarily on residential remodels. Our intention is to balance clean lines and beauty with an emphasis on practical and sustainable building practices. We want to create something not only that lasts, but that is uniquely yours. Russ Carnes and his staff are the best at what they do -- in every way. They completed a renovation of five rooms of my house, including a complete bathroom and kitchen renovation of my 60-year old house and addition of a laundry room. Russ listened really carefully to me about what I wanted the renovation to be, made valuable recommendations for design and function, and completed the work on time and within the budget.

Russ and his crew, specifically Jake, did an outstanding job on our kitchen remodel. We had them cut out the wall between two rooms, widen doorway, put in all new cabinets, countertops, convert from electric to gas range, and install can lights and accent lights. In all, the process was quick and they cleaned up after each day of work, being careful not to get sheetrock dust everywhere. We couldn't be happier with the job they did.

Russ was extremely responsive, highly communicative regarding ongoing details, and his site managers and crew did work of the highest quality. Russ was very fair and transparent about costs. EarthSky replaced my front entrance, including new concrete stairs and a front door, in a 90-year-old house. It turned out that I needed open-heart surgery on the day work commenced, and I was hospitalized for 13 days. During this time, Russ communicated via e-mail, including picture attachments, to ensure that he was giving me what I wanted. Prior planning meant few delays and no change orders (except for my decision to let him paint an area I could no longer paint myself). The pricing was competitive and the work started on schedule and was finished in a reasonable time frame. I would happily let EarthSky bid on any future projects I may have.

EarthSky Builders have now completed two major projects for me — first the addition of a porch and carport to my home in 2012 and then a major renovation of my daughter's condominium in 2015. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend both the quality of their work and the professionalism of their crew. They completed both jobs on time and on budget, and the crew members were a pleasure to work with. The finished jobs exceeded my expectations and are beautiful.
