Sage Builders has breathed new life into our Victorian home by remodeling our kitchen, family room, tv den and home office, including installing an Ortal gas fireplace, a granite wall and heated flooring, as well as modernizing our house’s internal systems. Jonathan Kantar’s honesty, attention to detail and breadth of knowledge regarding high tech, smart homes along with his extensive attention to detail and design, guided us in modernizing our home’s lighting, locks and internal systems. Most importantly, Jonathan is the most trustworthy and respectful person to work with and everyone who works with him was equally courteous, clean and conscientious. I had no problem leaving workers in the house alone and always came home to a clean work area. Jonathan is extremely patient and provided many options and solutions while communicating and adhering to the schedule throughout the process. He manages to accommodate the highest design expectations, materials and custom work and is expertly knowledgeable in implementing the latest eco conscious materials. We are thrilled with the outcome and plan to use Sage for all future projects.

I found Sage Builders to be very responsive to meeting schedules and cost constraints. They were courteous and always cleaned up after their work day. The workmanship was excellent and respectful of the house built in 1908.

Sage constructed an office over my garage and gut renovated two bathrooms in my home. There were some challenging structural issues to address as well as fine detail and cabinetry. The work done was excellent, on time and within budget. The work sites were isolated in my house with a minimum of inconvenience and impact on the rest of the house which we continued to occupy during construction. Sage has very high standards and stands by its work 100%. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I have been in the construction industry for over 21 years, and i must say Sage Builders is at the top of the list of builders I would choose to work with. Their attention to detail, all encompassing approach, organization, and attitude of client satisfaction is exceptional, and leads to not only an exceptional product, but a pleasurable experience for the client. Sage did a major kitchen upgrade for us recently, as well as a variety of smaller projects we have been accumulating. It's a 140 year old house so there was lots of last minute adjustments that needed to be made. Jonathan Kantar dealt with even the most challenging issues in a calm and unflappable manner. We love the results and we're pleased especially with Jonathan Kantar's personal supervision and quality control of the project. Great attention to detail and incredibly responsive to my (perhaps too) frequent phone calls. Jonathan was attentive to our views and listened carefully to our ideas which is not a trait universally shared by contractors. Definitely would hire again!

We met Sage Builders through a friend who had contracted with them in their home renovations. Having used other contractors, we were very happy to work with Jonathan Kantar and his team. They were first, very knowledgeable, detailed oriented, and paid attention to details. We also felt at peace having a staff of reliable and honest contractors working on our home. When presented with more creative suggestions, they really delivered and went beyond expectations. Overall, our experience with them was smooth, reliable, and even enjoyable.

We had our entire basement redone (about 1500sf). Previously, only one half was "finished", and that was from the 1970's and a linoleum floor. In addition, the basement regularly took on water during rainstorms of any nontrivial duration. Sage Builders gutted the entire basement area, put in a french drain to control the water problem, insulated the entire space, and then finished it, with a fine finish on one half the rough finish on the other. In the process, at their suggestion, we took the opportunity to update things like electric and plumbing where needed. The final product is gorgeous, dry (and we've had some intense rainstorms in the years since), holds its temperature well, and highly functional for the multiple purposes to which we put it (i.e. office, TV room, sewing, on the finished site, and exercise and laundry room on the other side). Everyone from the principle, to the on-site manager, to the various tradesmen they hired were prompt, polite and efficient.

I have worked with Sage Builders on a number of projects as a design professional, and I would not hesitate to give them the highest recommendation. They consistently excel in all phases of design and construction, from planning, design, and client meetings to transparent pricing, accurate scheduling, top quality craftsmanship, and post project follow-up. Unlike many builders who are strong in a few categories, Sage can provide it all. They have an excellent design eye, they show well to clients, and are enjoyable to work with in a team atmosphere. They are highly knowledgeable with today's new energy codes and new technologies, which is very helpful as well. I will always look forward to working with them on future projects.

In May of 2013 we discovered a serious leak in a second floor tub, which went into the ceiling of the first floor study. Jonathan Kantar of Sage Builders was recommended to us by our lawyer. Jonathan and his company responded to our call immediately. They located and isolated the problem, and took immediate measures to minimize further damages. They effectively and cordially cooperated with our adjuster and the insurance company, provided them with detailed information and accompanied them at the house. Their responsiveness and professionalism resulted in a fast, reasonably priced, and effective resolution of our problem. Jonathan Kantar and Sage Builders fixed the complicated leak in a timely manner and with the utmost care for our delicate books and furnishings in the first floor study, providing us with an outstanding, cordial, effective, reasonably priced and timely service. Since then, Jonathan Kantar and Sage Builders have performed additional services for us, from completing the insulation work that our previous contractor has not finished to replacing banisters and fixing skylights. Jonathan Kantar also arranged for us to meet top professionals and joined us at these meetings to help us make the correct decision regarding issues such as energy saving at the house and the choice of a generator. We highly recommend both Jonathan Kantar and Sage Builders.

Two total bathroom renovations. Total basement and hearing system renovation. Exterior architectural rehab. Sage people were always prompt, polite, skilled and trustworthy. They seemed to pull my visions out of my head into reality and always on budget. Meticulous attention to detail from planning, prep, construction to cleanup. After the basement renovation, even the screwdrivers in the toolbox were dusted! I trusted them completely even when we had to suddenly be out of the country while they were working.
