Our residential practice consists of a wonderful variety of opportunities and challenges from our clients, including new construction, major remodels, and small explorations of beauty. We have the good fortune of working with the best craftspeople in the Northwest, and enjoy a team approach in all our projects. Scott Becker has practiced architecture with a residential focus for over 20 years. His new and remodeled homes, cottages, vacation cabins, and residential interiors are found throughout the Puget Sound Region, and vary in character and approach depending on the unique demands of the site, and the personal desires of the client. Scott is excellent. Up front and realistic about pricing -- he was the only architect I interviewed that would explain "how the money game is played" in residential remodeling and, frankly, it was very much appreciated. For my project, there were three kinds of design insight I wanted and Scott provided all of it. First was the "take my vision" and draw it up, which he happily did. Second, for those areas where I didn't know exactly what I wanted, Scott was very clever, an excellent designer. And third, I didn't ask for it, but Scott had this light touch way of making this tweak over here or over there -- even if out of scope -- that helped create design cohesion with what was _in_ scope. Very very good at his job. Very happy with Scott and the results.

Scott did a great job of working with a design to fit our existing foundation. It was a complicated project as our original home was a 1950’s ranch and he transformed it to a coastal chic house! it turned out beautiful. He listened to our request of a coastal style and was a pleasure to work with.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Scott Becker on our recent home remodel project. From our first meeting, Scott listened to our wants and needs and helped develop a well thought out plan for our home. Our home had been through several previous additions resulting in a choppy layout lacking a sense of cohesiveness. Scott had the task of taking this challenging layout and providing clarity and flow to the space. He took the time to ensure that we had explored all the options and helped us to think outside the box while being mindful of our budget. Scott was excellent at keeping the project on track without making us feel rushed to make decisions. During each meeting he addressed our questions, helped incorporate any new ideas into the design and there was a clear plan moving forward. We felt like Scott took sincere interest in helping us get the most potential out of our home. We would recommend Scott Becker to anyone looking for architectural services for their home remodel or new construction.

It has been over a year since our remodel was completed, and we still feel the sense of wonder in the home Scott designed for us. We have gotten very comfortable in the livable, light filled spaces, but there is always something fresh to enjoy in the sky and changing seascape we are fortunate to share on the edge of Puget Sound. We have enjoyed Scott's leadership and talent, and are pleased to refer him as a highly qualified designer for an extensive home remodel project.

Scott's care and creativity with my bathroom project far exceeded my expectations. He was able to take my ideas for a bath "retreat" including a soaking tub, and travel experiences to places with rich craft traditions, and somehow bring these influences together into an exquisite design in a very small space. I couldn't be happier with the result.

I hired Scott to design a DADU (detached accessory dwelling unit) on my property. The location was very limited, in an environmentally critical area, but full of mature trees. I provided my requirements, Scott did an excellent job of designing a space that worked exceptionally well with the land, fitting seamlessly into the space. He had simple, creative ideas that fit into my budget. The finished product has been a huge success. It's now a vacation rental for people coming into Seattle. In the short period of time since built it's been featured on two television shows
