Staged to Sell or Dwell

When confronted with the task of selling our home in Patchogue Shores, we decided to enlist the services of STSOD for "staging to sell." From consultation through execution, the team at STSOD could not have been more prepared for the task. Melissa and Jean were able to demonstrate the value of our custom home after we vacated the premises with most of our furniture and decor. Taking the task of highlighting the home's features by re-creating an open, modern and cozy feel was no small task but was executed flawlessly. The end result, we received 18 offers, four of which were all cash and all were asking price or greater. Ultimately, the buyer acquired the home purchasing all of the furniture and decor as they could not imagine it any differently. The time from listing to close was completed in under 30 days. We were so impressed by every interaction and detail, we hired the same team to furnish and decorate our new home! As a side note, our realtor at Coach stated, they have never seen such a response to a listing. There were 16 showings prior to the open house and over 60 unique visitors attending the open house that was completed all within one week of the listing. We reviewed all offers, accepted a cash offer 40k over list, in addition to cost of furnishings, and entered into contract within a week of listing. Could not have asked for a better result!

I can sum up my opinion of Staged to Sell or Dwell (STSOD) in two words: Miracle Workers! No sooner than the moment Melissa and Jean agreed to take on our project did we expand the scope of the project. What originally was a small project involving a large newly purchased summer/weekend home, that was to be purchased partially furnished and only need some “freshening up”, quickly evolved into a home being purchased completely empty and in need of a full interior paint job, floor refinishing and all rooms needing furnishing. STSOD offered a “soup to nuts” plan for getting the home in shape on a budget and with a relatively tight timeline. They were super professional, easy to work with and constantly in touch about the project, the timeline, budget etc. Early on we provided our “vision” which was a few magazine clippings and the caveat that we had young kids and wanted a low maintenance, relaxing, uncluttered, and welcoming home. And they delivered! They were in on the project from the beginning working tirelessly to coordinate paint, flooring, and décor. And just before the “Big Reveal” they had the unexpected hurdle of dealing with a tree falling on our house, causing massive damage, just hours before furniture was to be delivered. Oh and we were out of the country! STSOD ran point on damage control and the restoration project. They really are a full service shop and a competent one! This created a slight delay for our “Big Reveal” but STSOD made a difficult situation as painless as possible! I am so grateful we were put in touch and trusted them with this major project. We couldn’t be happier with the final results, and we are looking forward to referring them to friends and having them back to work on future projects for us as well!

We hired Melissa, and her trusted assistant Jean, to redesign our living, dining & family rooms. What seemed to me like an overwhelming task, they made manageable, affordable & absolutely beautiful. I constantly receive compliments about the redesign, and several of my friends have hired them to work on their homes. Melissa is focused, organized, & has a keen eye for color and style. She worked within our budget, and within our tight timeline, always with a smile on her face. She incorporated some of the furnishings we already had, and created an entirely new look with the furniture/items we chose together. We are so pleased with her services that we plan on redesigning the rest of our home as well.

This organization was very professional. That being said, it infers that they accomplished what we discussed very well, on time with creative forethought and more than pleasing results. Hiring Staged to Sell or Dwell was the BEST investment my family has ever made in a home. My husband and I purchased a very large apartment, and we didn't know where to even begin with anything beyond a few signature pieces of furniture. I met Melissa and Jean when they were doing a job for my friend who lives upstairs from me. I found them to be charming and professional. You could tell at a glance that they had an "eye" and knew what they were doing. I hired them for a very small job but they treated me as if I was going to give them a million dollars. They chose the perfect color for my accent wall and then brought me several pairs of drapes for my living room windows. I live in a one bedroom apartment in Manhattan and Staged to Sell or Dwell helped me to completely redecorate my bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I wanted to do my bedroom in shades of grey and they chose paint, carpeting, bed, bedding, lighting and drapes. I could not be happier with the results. They listened to the feel I wanted and put together a beautiful bedroom. I just love it. In my kitchen, they chose paint, new flooring, backsplash and lighting. And in my bathroom, they chose new shower curtain and towels. It's like living in a new apartment Melissa and Jean are professional, knowledgeable and have great taste.
