Jeffrey of Pride and Joy Home Improvements did an excellent job on my kitchen. Jeffrey completely listened to our design ideas AND added in ideas of his own without forcing it his direction. He did a partial reface job and some new construction. In fact, the bottom cabinets were supposed to be refaced but Jeffrey decided it was better to take them out completely and rebuild and he did so without added cost. His fees were in line with the quote - just be sure to understand upfront that appliances and certain various items (such as canned lights) are or may not be part of the quote. Please note this is not an error - Jeffrey did tell us but early on in the estimate process and i forgot. This is my second job with Pride and Joy - I had a great experience with my first kitchen that I called him up again when we moved into our next home. With both jobs he has fulfilled his estimate on how long the jobs would take! Both were about 3 weeks only, which is remarkable for a kitchen redo. i am confident that Jeffrey's many years of experience focusing on kitchen and baths has given him the confidence to estimate the correct amount of time each job will take. When faced with an area on our laminate floor that needed to be filled in due to removal of a counter, Jeffrey did it, even though we did not have him redo the floor. He even came back a second time at our request to work on it a little more to get it perfect!

If you want a beautiful kitchen and have a lot of fun with jeffrey, he's your man! He's in our kitchen now and this is the 2nd kitchen he's done for us!!!

Jeffrey and his team did a great job refacing our kitchen, including many new drawers. We asked them to knock out a hanging cabinet and install an island hood. There were a few aspects of the job that required real ingenuity and Jeffrey delivered every time. On time and on budget. We couldn't be happier with the result.

Jeffrey and his team from Pride & Joy did a fabulous job renovating my kitchen. They refaced light maple cabinets with espresso colored shaker cabinets; installed a glass subway tile backsplash, replaced a white ceramic tile floor with a hardwood floor, replaced lights, installed custom benches for a breakfast nook, and painted. The craftsmanship was excellent and the details more so – soft closures for the drawers, crown molding at the base of the cabinets, and cutting cabinets to allow for a larger refrigerator. The lights—I went from one light switch with two fluorescent tube fixtures to 3 dimable light switches controlling overhead recessed lights, under and overcabinet led lights and a pendant light over a kitchen table. They also added beams to the ceiling to match the living room. The hardwood on the floor matched the 1940’s fiddled oak floors that existed throughout the house. Besides the beautiful work, they were efficient and on-time, they cleaned up each day, answered all emails promptly and they were a pleasure to work with. Five stars!

The name says it all--I never realized a kitchen "face lift" could make me feel so much pride and joy in my home. I absolutely love my new counters and cabinets. Jeffrey Swafford really knows his stuff. He's professional and courteous; he offers advice and suggestions without being overbearing or obtrusive. Jeff explained all the logistics so we knew exactly what to expect from start to finish. And he's basically a good guy--he didn't try to sell us on replacing things we were already happy with. My husband did a "stop gap" remodel a few years back, so I was pleased when Jeffrey recommended keeping and refacing the existing island my husband had installed. He covered two ugly support beams with beautiful maple laminate, added shelving and cabinet doors for extra display and storage space, and made sure the finished product blended in beautifully with the rest of the kitchen. We also have two odd-shaped cabinets under a staircase, which he expertly rebuilt. This is the first time we have ever hired a home improvement contractor. To say I was gun-shy would be an understatement. As a real estate attorney of 28 years, I have heard all the horror stories--contractors botching jobs, showing up late (or not at all) or taking customers' money and then skipping town. Jeffrey showed up when he said he would and did a stunning job for a fantastic price. He is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work and pays attention to the little details, even going the extra mile to "tweak" a few things to make sure we were completely satisfied with the end result. Both my husband and I work at home during the day, so I was worried about the disruption of taking on this long-overdue kitchen project and having workers traipsing about the house. Jeff made the process as painless as possible, setting things up so we could use our kitchen while waiting for the granite counters to be cut and delivered. He and his assistant were respectful and well-mannered--actually a pleasure to have around. I can't sing his praises enough and will highly recommend him to my friends.

Pride and Joy was the best contractor I have ever used: responsive, professional, timely, well priced and amazing problem solvers. They remodeled our very large and upscale kitchen, replacing cabinets, appliances, etc.

Jeff, the owner of Pride & Joy took what was an unusable dark cove in my family room and transformed it into a light, bright and functional library! I would recommend Jeff to anyone. We plan on working with him again on our full kitchen remodel as well. Very creative and professional, with special attention to detail and design!

Jeffrey Swafford is the ultimate craftsman. He took great pride in creating our Shaker-style cabinets and drawers for our 1923 California Bungalow kitchen remodel. Not only is he a licensed general contractor, but a licensed electrician, as well. He was able to advise us on lighting, install all the halogen recessed ceiling lights, under cabinet lighting and decorative antique over-sink lighting. He created a kitchen nook with leftover Ceasarstone countertop materials and hand-crafted, built-in benches. Jeffrey was a joy to be around and so easy to work with; he was on time, on schedule and under budget.

I hired Jeff to redo my kitchen cabinets. We had already redone our counter tops years ago, installing granite and were not going to tear these out for new cabinets. I was skeptical about doing the refacing and "refinishing" where you replace doors and veneer the walls. But they turned out beautifully. No one knows that they are not fully new cabinets. He was very professional, and patient with us. I had a difficult time trying to find the color I was thrilled with. He sent me directly to the cabinet makers for help with color and I found the perfect fit. I made last minute changes and he was very accommodating and professional when dealing with us. I would and have recommended him in a heartbeat. I now have beautiful cabinets that are far superior than the ones I had originally and for pennies compared to replacing the cabinets completely.

It was a pleasure to work with Jeffrey Swafford from start to finish. He is a complete professional in every way. He has great ideas and worked with our concept to turn it into a design. He kept the project on time and on-budget. The absence of sub-contractors is a real plus. And the work itself was great. We love our new kitchen! We recommend Pride & Joy unconditionally.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience working with Jeffrey Swafford and his assistant.
