In fact, due to pandemic supply shortages, there would have been a long delay in our receiving the new dishwasher, but Timeline loaned us a dishwasher until our new dishwasher arrived, which minimized stress for our family. We had made a number of changes to our remodeling plans, which Timeline respected and thoughtfully carried out. Timeline regularly kept us up-to-date on deadlines and how the remodel was progressing. As typical in older homes, unforeseen problems popped up such as old water damage under a floor. Timeline quickly and meticulously repaired the problems with expertise. Timeline’s dedication to open communication and collaboration between the Timeline team itself and our family fostered an environment where there was obvious cohesion and trust. Our ideas and suggestions were valued and incorporated into the final remodeling plans. We purchased our 1963-built house in Los Altos 50 years ago and had the first remodeling job done in 1986 to expand it to 5,000-sq.ft house. In 2015, Timeline Design+Build (TDB) did a second remodeling project to rebuild about 90% of the interior. We were able to watch the work in progress as we were staying nearby. Matthew Harrigan's goal is always achieving the best quality. Our communications were responded to promptly. We were very pleased with the result of having all the extra features we requested. Fast forward to September, 2023, we asked TDB to do an earthquake retrofit of the foundation if needed. Even with his busy schedule, he took time out for us to crawl under the house and made a thorough verification to conclude it is in good order. Matthew is professional, reliable, and trustworthy, indeed he is our go-to contractor. I highly recommend Matthew Harrigan.

We used Timeline Design for a project, and we found the entire team, including the CEO Matthew Harrigan, to be extremely competent and professional. The workmanship of the company and their subcontractors was high quality, and they were and continue to be responsive to any concerns and questions we have. It’s true that they don’t have the lowest quote, but the total budget also doesn’t increase as much during the project. Recommended!

Timeline helped us to build the home of our dreams. Our project was a complete knock down and rebuild. The entire team at Timeline was great to work with. We enjoyed working with them so much that we are looking for other projects to be able to work with them again!

We hired Timeline Design to do the design and build for a complete kitchen remodel (new layout, new walls, etc.) and bathroom update. Even though we had strong ideas for many of the things we wanted, we were completely open to new ideas. Timeline took our ideas and came up with a design and build-out that achieved all of our goals. We had a great collaboration with the designers and on-site construction team. Timeline did a wonderful job on our kitchen and bath remodel, plus all the different change orders we kept throwing at the them. The kitchen was an especially stunning transformation. The most remarkable and impressive part was how the schedule didn't stray too far from the original estimate despite having a couple of key people leave the project along the way and how we kept adding change orders. Our project manager, Ginny, deserves a special shout out for keeping us and the project on track.

This is the fourth project we have worked with Timeline Design on, as they have consistently provide excellent quality and value. This specific project involved the complete remodel of a 1960s home; 2 bedroom/1 bath. As part of the remodel, we wanted to turn an unpermitted sunroom into a bedroom. Timeline was able to design a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath in the existing footprint. The resulting layout created a much more pleasing flow to the house and gave it an overall spacious feeling. As always, the project was expertly managed, coming in on time and on budget. This is a rare occurrence in the construction industry, but has been my experience on each of the four projects. When the house was appraised after, the remodel was completed, the value had risen 119% of the project cost! I can't recommend them highly enough!

Timeline Design (TD) did a fantastic job of remodeling 3 of our bathrooms in 2016; it was our 3rd project with TD. TD, as with our previous projects, worked closely with us to ensure our job was done to our total satisfaction. TD's employees and its subcontractors have a strong sense of pleasing the customer. My husband and I were looking for construction that would handle our renovation project from beginning to end and we are very happy we chose Timeline. They did a great job in the planning and design phase, and because of this there were very little surprises during the whole process. Kyle, our interior designer, helped us make great design decisions, and John, our general contractor, did an awesome job staying on top of all the permits and work scheduled to stay on track. Professional from start to finish! Timeline Design did a great job maximising the space we had and created a layout that was very clever and useful. Our remodelling job was beautifully designed and done! Attention to detail was also top notch. They truly paid attention to customer's needs and provided great service even after the job was done.

I chose Timeline for my project that included a complete refresh of the exterior, including a new front door and garage door, stone siding, new roof with skylights, and removal of a huge brick fireplace replaced with a large window. The process to define the scope of work was very smooth and efficient, and effectively ensured we were on the same page. During the project the change order process was equally smooth, clear and reasonably priced. The workers had good communication skills, were polite and responsive, and cleaned up before leaving at days end. The subcontractors were high quality and well managed. The Timeline team worked effectively with my landscape architect to ensure her construction needs - mostly electrical - were met. There were regular meetings to review work progress and schedule. The Timeline team took extra efforts to make sure things went smoothly. At the end of the project, they took care of the punch list quickly, efficiently and easily. I would recommend Timeline, and would use them again for another project.

We're working on a rebuild of our home. We selected Timeline after meeting with several firms, and after seeing several examples of their work. We also spoke with multiple former clients (some we met through Timeline, some we met on our own), all of which provided great recommendations. Our project is still underway, but we've been very pleased with the design process. The lot shape and orientation are challenging, and were the cause of major lighting issues in the original home. The Timeline design team has worked with us to come up with a custom home that addresses those issues, as well as meets our fairly specific choice of style. They are on top of emerging technology as well, so we're able to make heating, power, and material choices that appeal to our techie side. The approval process in our area is brutal, and they managed it expertly. We we're approved in our first pass. Great team - would recommend them highly to anyone.

We hired Timeline Design in Saratoga, California for a complete remodel our California style ranch house. We are very pleased with the result and very much enjoyed the experience of working with the crew at Timeline. Matthew Harrigan, the owner and president of Timeline, was involved in design throughout the project. Matthew’s engineering background was apparent from our first visit where he showed us a very detailed work flow diagram he uses at Timeline to maintain an efficient and on-time operation. Matthew helped us make informed decisions during the project by teaching us about home design and construction. Our initial sessions with Matthew involved brainstorming the possibilities for the scope of the project. He provided us with estimates of the cost of each option and this allowed us choose features that fit our budget and provided us with the most value. Interior designers, primarily Kyle Le, educated us as well and helped us choose finishes and appliances that are functional, stylish and affordable. Kyle was very patient and available after hours for questions throughout the project. As the date of construction approached Timeline provided us with a detailed calendar of construction phases with an expected completion date. The construction calendar was an ingenious means to compress the number of days for construction by overlapping the scheduled dates for different specialists. Timeline assigns a site manager to each project to coordinate the subcontractors and to do all construction tasks not allotted to the subcontractors. Our site manager, Gary Skwarek, was affable, available on site every day and seemed capable of building almost anything. The subcontractors were professional, punctual and efficient. Design continued during construction. Daily contact with Kyle and Gary allowed us to finalize aspects of design not addressed to that point and change prior design decisions without costly delays or wasting of materials. Accounting for the added time of change orders, the original five months scheduled for construction was accurate within a week. There were no delays due to scheduling, product not being ordered on time, erroneous orders or delivery of damaged products. The workmanship is outstanding with great attention to detail. Timeline provides an excellent warranty on workmanship. Timeline has repaired acquired misalignment of doors related to the house settling over the first few months at no cost to us. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our experience with Timeline. They provided us with a beautiful house, built on schedule at a reasonable cost. On top of this, we count them as our friends.

Matthew Harrigan and his design team at Timeline Design developed an elegant and highly functional design for our remodeling project which included kitchen, living room, and family room. TLD and all of its subcontractors were so professional and courteous that it was actually a pleasure having them in our home each day. Matthew goes to great lengths to ensure TLD's projects are completed on schedule. Once the work started, there were no delays, and the assigned project manager and various subcontractors were on the job every day until completion. Matthew and his team addressed any issues that arose along the way quickly and fully. The final project was georgeous, and five years later, we are still very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of TLD's work. Our project involved redesigning the interior layout of a typical 1950s ranch. We had 3 individual rooms (kitchen, living room, family room), and will now have a large open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, plus a separate office. We moved the kitchen from the front of the house to the side, to create a more open flow and take advantage of views to our back yard. Our goal was to change the layout of our house to match our lifestyle. We chose Timeline because we had seen examples of the great work they had done in other projects. Matthew walked into our house the first day, did a quick sketch of a floor plan - and showed us possibilities we had never imagined. Our designer, Kyle Le, has helped us navigate through seemingly endless choices and decisions. His patience with us as we discovered what we liked and didn't, was endless. His excellent design ideas have helped us create an environment that we never thought possible. All the Timeline staff are a pleasure to deal with , they are responsive, available, and fun to work with. I'd highly recommend them to anyone considering a project.

I am a retired general contractor and residential designer. I worked with Matt for a number of years in the late 90s. I know him to be an honest and competent professional. When I built my own home in 2007 I had Timeline supply supply the cabinets and help with the layout of my kitchen and baths. The supplied cabinets were of the highest quality and I could not be more pleased with how functional my kitchen has proved to be.

TLD was extremely patient with our first-timer questions (and paranoia), and led us through the entire process with professionalism and a sense of humor that made the experience as stress-free as possible. Our on-site manager, Gary, put a lot of care into doing things right, and we absolutely love the finished product!

Timeline design did a major remodel of the interior of our home this year. Timeline is a full-service design and construction firm; thus, we used them from the beginning of the design phase, through project completion. The entire process, from beginning to end, went extremely well. I cannot say enough positive things about the quality of the people working for Timeline, as well as the sub-contractors that they used. They are all true craftsmen. The update to our home is exactly what we wanted. The project was completed on time with minimal "surprises" or change orders. I am planning on using Timeline for our next project.

Timeline Design planned and completed our home remodel as scheduled. They had good ideas that were incorporated in the remodel and were attentive to our suggestions also. All the aspects of the remodel were lined up in a timely manner. There was pride in good workmanship.

My husband and I asked Timeline Design to make drastic changes to our master bath. We had already gotten one design, but we were looking for something more interesting. The Designer at Timeline did a wonderful job of making a beautiful room that worked the way we wanted it to. Ultimately a bathroom must be functional--but TD made the design fun, beautiful, and functional. We had one blip that wasn't due to the company, but to our deciding we wanted a larger window. TD took this "challenge" and I think made the design even better. TD has some practical suggestions such as going to a new "on demand" water heating system, which we incporated. The selection of the finishes was easy with Timeline's guidance. In the end, we had a beautiful bathroom with a relaxing soaking tub, and a very functional shower. The bathroom was gutted and re-built. We are living overseas right now and haven't had the opportunity to use it as much as we'd like, but we're looking forward to being there on the holidays.

Timeline performed a remodel of master bedroom and bathroom including the design thereof. They stayed on time and within budget as communicated and were great and professional to work with. Highly recommended.

It's been 5 years since our total home remodel by Timeline Design and we still pinch ourselves. It took only 5 months to complete the teardown and rebuild! We love the classic design with modern functionality. The design process was fun because we both had great ideas and they have the expertise to turn them into reality. Timeline Design designed and build our 6,000 sq ft house. They took our ideas and made them better. As the project progressed they improved the design and solved problems as the reality of the construction unveiled ways to make it better or address issues. This was done as a matter of course, not as a way to jack up the price through change orders. Most of these changes did, in fact, not change the price. Some did require extra or different materials or effort but these only added T&M charges. We are still delighted with our house 7 years after it was completed. Timeline Design still sends people out to fix or address any issues we have as they arise. Timeline Design is an honest, committed and talented designer/builder. I can't recommend them high enough!
