Valerie DeRoy is simply the BEST designer you could wish for! I worked with her twice, firstly on an NYC Manhattan high-end apartment, and secondly on a single-family home in Florida. Both instances, she delivered STELLAR results, above and beyond I had imagined. Valerie listens carefully, does not rush you nor "take over" your project. She makes timely suggestions and is careful to stick to your vision. She will share her in-depth knowledge and experience with space, color, assembly, atmosphere, and all of it to create the look and the "feel" you want. She is easy to work with and has a most engaging personality, which makes it a pleasure to discuss things with her. She is adept at narrowing down choices for you so that you do not have to spend hours looking for just the "right" piece. We have been working with Valerie DeRoy since 2008 and have done 4-5 projects on our house with her; master bedroom, living room and dining room, study, family room and most recently, our KITCHEN (started in Jan '15). Valerie brought an amazing understanding of proportion, an adept feel for soothing color and really understood my love of texture. The net result is that people who come to our home love the uncluttered, relaxed yet transitional feel of our home. You can put your feet not the coffee table and read the paper OR entertain in elegance for a large group. The latest project, the kitchen, was the true test. Valerie encouraged us to go outside of our comfort zone and change up the layout completely. In the end, we were so glad we trusted in her. The kitchen is streamlined, elegant, yet unpretentious. Valerie DeRoy is an amazing designer. I've worked with her on various projects over the last ten years.
