We have had the pleasure of working with Phil Lamadeleine and his team at Custom CADD for over 15 years, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of the best in the business. As interior designers working on high-end custom homes and renovations, we rely heavily on the quality of the architectural drawings we receive. Phil’s plans are exceptionally accurate, thorough and easy to read. They follow industry standards, contain the level of detail builders and trades actually need, and most importantly, they can be confidently built from. Phil also brings an incredible depth of knowledge to every project. His understanding of the Ontario Building Code and local authorities is exceptional, including the complexities of conservation authorities and Lake Simcoe shoreline properties. When something complicated comes up, Phil is someone you want at the table. But what has kept us working with Phil goes well beyond his technical ability. He is a genuine team player who always has the client’s best interests at heart. He listens to the designer, builder and trades, and there is simply no ego involved. My husband and I have extensive experience with new builds and architects. Without question Phil Lamadeleine is the very best we have ever engaged . It was a tricky design and extensive, with the actual build renovation taking over 2 years. Phil listened intently to our initial asks and wish list and designed multiple options as well as design futures. Without hesitation , Phil offered immediate solutions to various build challenges that typically occur once construction commenced not to mention countless money saving alternatives. Additionally, as we are within the greenbelt and typical Ontario municipal build code restrictions and bureaucracy , Phil successfully navigated our permit process with his extensive expertise. Budget is considered from the beginning, not after the design is complete. We help establish realistic priorities, evaluate size, complexity, materials and site conditions, and involve builders or cost consultants when appropriate. As the design develops, we continuously assess decisions against the construction budget so the home remains both aspirational and financially achievable.
