I can't recommend Tate and Matkaluk Construction enough. They swooped in and renovated our newly purchased home and did an incredible job. We needed a mudroom, new floors, a dining room built-in, fireplaces, repainting, and a ton of other projects around the house. Tate and his team were skilled, hard working, reliable, on time (as much as we can be with supply chains, etc), and on budget. We appreciated having a realistic budget up front, and this was updated over time and was predictable and transparent. His team were careful and meticulous. His trades were skilled and we were happy with all of them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any project, big or small, and I'm excited to hire him back for more in a few years.

Matkaluk construction listened to our wishes, gave us a quote that was very close to the end cost and was very informative. Matkaluk construction dealt with all of the permits and the safety on site. We wanted to remove the wall in the kitchen and completely open the space. Matkaluk construction completed the work on time.

Tate and his team are a five star operation! We have had several large scale projects take place in the 21 years we have lived in our home. The most recent was a six month, multi-level renovation project taken on by Matkaluk Construction. It was by far the most intensive we’ve had to live with and through but also the most enjoyable. I can’t say enough about the positive process we enjoyed and the spectacular end results we are living with. Tate is a man of integrity, his focus along with the attention to detail means you are in good hands. His team is composed of highly skilled, personable and extremely conscientious people. Tate’s relationships with the top notch sub-trades he works with was evident both in their availability to the project, timely and high quality execution. From day one, the fact that we as homeowners would be living in the house throughout the project was first and foremost in how they conducted themselves and related to us. We knew which days would be louder, dustier and most invasive. It’s always unnerving to go through the upheaval of renovation and more so to give over to complete strangers in your home, but the people of Matkaluk were always affable, considerate and meticulously clean. In the six months it took to completion, someone was here at 8am working every weekday. We could not have asked or imagined a better experience. Many thanks to Tate and the whole Matkaluk team!

We hired Matkaluk Construction for renovation on our top level of our house (1700sqft). First and foremost, the Matkaluk team is great, truly the best crew I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I think it’s also important to note, that Tate hires some of the best and extremely skilled trades I’ve experienced (this is my third reno). The project timelines and budget were laid out from the beginning and even during Covid-crazy-times, we moved in when expected and we were within budget! Throughout all the spaces there was a high standard of work and the attention to detail was exceptional. I highly recommend Tate and his team and will be using them for any future projects!

We have a 90 year old house which is always in need of renovation. Matkaluk Construction has worked on several projects here. His designer, and team, stripped the bathroom and living to the studs, and we changed to double pane windows throughout the house. Work was done timely, there was attention to detail, and final costs were as expected. There will be more work in the future.

The Matkaluk team was great to work with from start to finish. They walked us through each process step by step, and we never felt pressured, rushed, or unprepared to make a decision. They always followed up with the subcontractors to ensure they completed the job, responded to all of our inquiries in a very timely fashion, and were willing to work with us whenever we made last-minute changes. I would recommend them any day!

Tate did an excellent job in execrating the schedule for our home renovation while maintaining superior finish quality. Even during the Covid lockdown, the project still forged ahead while keeping in mind the evolving safety protocols at that time. This allowed us to move it as scheduled to our new home. If there was anything that came up after occupancy, it was remediated immediately without question.

We hired Matkaluk after reviewing a number of other contractors. The team gave us an accurate quote and was there at every step to walk us through every aspect of the job from design to permits to completion. We gutted the whole first floor with a new kitchen, bathroom, walk in pantry, stairs, floors, media area, paint, etc. They were always quick with responses, and great with communication. We couldn't be happier with our space! Super easy to work with. Anything down the road we need with our house Matkaluk will be our first and only call!

Our experience with Tate and his crew was first class. His team were very friendly to other (sensitive) owners in the building during the work on our loft. The project was completed on time and all trades were kept moving and co-ordinated smoothly. His great budgeting software kept us up to date on things. Tate Matkaluk and his crew have been doing numerous renovations in our home over the last 2 years which included a new deck and a basement reno.
