When we inherited my late mother-in-law’s dream house on the Chesapeake Bay, Katie helped make it ours. There are so many places in our home we now love spending time in—from our warm and welcoming kitchen to our luxurious double shower that overlooks the water. Katie framed and arranged a gallery of our favorite artists’ paintings on the wall opposite our bed. It’s the first thing we see when we wake up. We honor my mother-in-law by displaying her Asian art and furniture throughout the house and her beloved orchid collection in the sunroom. Katie is so perky and enthusiastic, the most positive person I know. She is a master of the small details, like how she coordinates different fabrics and textures to make a room look cohesive and beautiful. I had not worked with an interior designer before and now have a deep appreciation for all the details Katie managed. We’re so proud of our home.

We covered Katie’s design aesthetic from the moment we stepped into her home several years ago. You can imagine our excitement when she decided to peruse Katie Rainey Design! We hired her almost immediately when we purchased our very outdated new home, and she helped us transform it into a modern dwelling with use of paint colors, light fixtures, and accessories that was exactly what we were looking for. I should also mention she helped stage our former home as it was up for sale, and it improved the home’s appearance by leaps and bounds!
