Our experience with Key Remodeling & Design was incredible for our waterfront home in Sarasota. It was difficult to find a general contractor for our bathroom remodeling projects, and we talked to quite a few that either didn’t have any vision or didn’t get back to us. Red flags. With Nicholas, from the very first contact he was attentive, communicative, and did what he said he was going to do. Our first meeting I took without my wife due to a conflict, and afterwards I confidently told my wife, “I think you are really going to like him.” Nicholas came back, we had another meeting—and I was right. He made us feel comfortable and confident and we were ready to start after that meeting. We really loved both of our bathroom remodels. They came out like something out of a magazine to be honest. We were so unsure about how we would pick the right tile or the right paint—so many choices and we were a bit overwhelmed, but Nicholas assured us that he would support us and would help with the design to ensure our vision came to life. We went to the showroom and honestly, it was so easy I was shocked how fast we were able to pick out the right materials. We couldn’t have done better with the tile selections and the countertops. We love them. We thought we needed an interior designer, but we didn’t. We just needed to trust Key Remodeling & Design. I think the attention to detail and software that Key uses helps keep track of things and really keeps the project running smoothly with deadlines, details, and documentation. We were impressed at the attention to detail and the craftsmanship, especially from Key’s tile installer, Tony. The mitering job he did on the tile in both bathrooms to avoid using schluter was fantastic. We honestly would highly recommend spending a little more for this detail. The whole team we met and worked with from Key was amazing and friendly. Nicholas also went above and beyond to move a hideous vent from the middle of our bathroom wall that multiple companies told us couldn’t be moved. He knew that we hated it and he surprised us and handled it while we were out of town. His team found a way to handle it and put it up in the ceiling where it belonged! He did not have to do this and didn’t commit to do this, but he really listened to us and made a mental note for a later date. This is when I really knew that we made the right choice. It’s really the little things. The best compliment I think I could give Nicholas is that he is the best communicator I have ever dealt with. His attention to detail along with his integrity and willingness to make sure we are happy is what sets him apart from everyone else. Also, with any construction project, issues may arise. Anytime an issue came up, it was swiftly taken care of and THAT is not something you find in a lot of companies. The Key team went above and beyond to make our bathrooms absolutely amazing. We will not be looking around for a new contractor for our upcoming kitchen remodel.

We chose Key Remodeling & Design to remodel our primary residence because Nicholas had done great work for us on an investment property that we own on Boca Grande. Our primary residence was wiped out by Ian, we were down to the studs. Nicholas was on site more than any other builder we have had in the past, he is a master at detail, he organized us with his Asana app! What I love most about our complete renovation is the totally remodeled kitchen and updated coffee bar that opens up the space! Nicholas also completely changed our stairs and they are perfect! I had an idea of painting the banisters, and he was great about showing AI pictures so that I was able to visualize that I had enough blue. The molding around my doors came out terrific, he had a great architectural eye, and also for issues that came up with vendors; he made sure everything that we ended up with in our home was something he could be proud of. Our upstairs master bath is a good example. His opinion on using mirrors made by our custom kitchen cabinetry group (Stylecraft) and matching our bathroom cabinetry made the room look fabulous! He has great subcontractors that were always clean, polite, showed up on time and did a great job! He was a great communicator, a great person, and we could not be happier with the results of our new home! We highly recommend Key Remodeling & Design!

Nicholas has very good attention to detail, and on several occasions performed work beyond our expectations. Communication is an area where most contractors struggle, even good ones. Our property on Boca Grande (Gasparilla Island) was damaged by Hurricane Ian and we were desperate to find someone to help us rebuild it. Key Construction remodeled our Venice Island condo. From planning to completion, it was a wonderful experience with great communication from Nicholas through weekly updates and videos. Our stunning open-style kitchen and living room feature Cambria Quartz countertops and backsplash, along with a large island that offers spacious storage cabinets and drawers. The beautiful porcelain tile plank flooring runs seamlessly throughout the living room, bedrooms and bathrooms.
