Zbranek and Holt Custom Homes: We found Zbranek and Holt Custom Homes through both an on-line search and a recommendation from our real estate agent. They were also recommended multiple other times during our property search and acquisition. They have built quite a few custom homes in our area which provided us with a good idea of their scope and creativity. We met with Steve Zbranek and our real estate agent at our lot and explained our idea and budget. He thought he could do it and we met again in a few weeks to see some rough possibilities. He and his designer “hit the nail on the head” the first time. We agreed on our budget requirements and said go. From that point on his work just got better. The flow of the process finalizing plans, selecting materials and colors and quality became easy, efficient and enjoyable. With the help of weekly meetings involving materials, subs, and his staff was never a chore. Our project manager Troy Stephenson was always available. He was always open to our ideas and questions and took good care of our property and construction site. The client portal program kept us completely informed on costs, selections,subs, and progress. Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes built out home in Lago Escondido at Horseshoe Bay, Tx. We were very specific on almost everything we wanted done. Steve and Tony and their staff went over and beyond to help us. We had chosen a color scheme of black and white for the entire house. Jeremy anticipated things to coincide with this scheme or make sure it was exactly what we would want before being asked. Tyler was always available and quick to offer suggestions and help with any questions or concerns. Tori was the best at helping with all the purchasing and finding the answers to our many questions and changes. We highly recommend Zbranek and Holt to build you custom home!

I'm pleased to share my most recent (4-Mar-2025) experience with Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes. Austin encountered the crazy gust wind of ~50 miles/hour on the ground, in most area on 4-Mar-2025. Our lot being on top of the hill facing Lake Travis ending up with close to 100 miles/hour, due to both speed-up and Venturi effects. One exterior patio 60" ceiling fan caught the crazy wind and was blown out of its socket with only one bolt left holding it, dangling and spinning & blades hitting ceiling due to wind...possibly falling anytime which can cause more damage to window, tile, and fan itself... House was delivered end 2021, so the warranty period has long passed. Reached out to Z&H bossman Tony Holt at 5PM for help... Tony and his VP Tyler Dart scrambled for electricians that can stop by to fix, but all were gone for the day. The phone rang again... Tyler sacrificed his family time with the new-born baby, drove 40 minutes across the town, arrived 6:20PM and completely fixed it at 7PM... then drove another 40 minutes back home... totally beyond the expired warranty and his call of duty. I call it as far and beyond a 5-star customer service!

The short version: Out of the handful of close friends that have built a custom home in the last 2-3 years, I’m not simply the only one still speaking with their builder, I’m writing them a 5 star review. The longer version: The opportunity to build your dream, custom home can be an amazing experience. Most of the world never gets this chance. And your hopes and dreams and excitement are all wrapped up in a vision you have for your future home. At the same time building a custom home is hard. It just is. Every custom home is only built once - and the first time you build anything, you make mistakes and learn along the way. When you multiply that by the literally 1000’s of small and large choices, the chance for something to go wrong is nearly 100%. So it’s not a matter of everything being perfect - it’s a matter of how you work together when everything isn’t perfect and doesn’t go well. And in a time of high inflation, contractor variations, and occasional materials shortages, it can even be harder. When choosing a builder, this may be just one of a hundred or thousand homes they’ve built - but for you, it’s likely the only one. We’ve been in our Z&H home for about one year now - and we’ve been able to see the entire process from a wish list of features to a full warranty period. Tony, Tyler, Brandie, and Johnny have been there for our whole journey. The home exceeds our expectations in both form and function. Special thanks to Brandie for working with us through all the small choices we needed to make; we had a standing meeting each Thursday and I always looked forward to those discussions. And special thanks to Johnny for being there with us every day - the good days and the harder days - never wavering in his desire to make things right for us. There were several “unplanned challenges” along the way - some needing small adjustments and others needing a fairly major re-thinking of approach. In each of these moments, I felt like we were able to each be honest with the other on our perspectives, to get the facts and the options on the table, and to come to an agreement on the best way to move forward. None of my friends that have built custom homes can say the same. If you’re thinking of building a custom home in the area, you should definitely consider Zbranek & Holt.

Tony and his entire team are a class act. As an executive of a large family office, I have experience with over a dozen high-end home build projects. The level of communication and transparency the Z&H team provides is unmatched and superior to all other construction companies I have worked with. The invoicing system is highly organized and flawless. The change order process is transparent and easy to manage. Z&H kept on schedule and kept the stress and pressure off the homeowner. Then there is the finished product! A beautiful custom home! And finally, once the project was completed, Z&H treated the home like their own - attending to any issue, no matter how minor. They stand by their work. Excellent quality for a fair honest price.

I've had a handful of custom homes built over the years and Zbranek & Holt is by far the best custom home builder I've used. The house design was very modern with a few challenging design elements, but everything turned out perfectly. Their project manager was very meticulous and was on site every day to make sure everything was done properly. He said at the start he was going to build the home as if it was his own, and he was true to his word, and that goes for the entire staff at Z&H. Their accounting is very transparent, and unlike many other home builders, they won't underbid the job and then try to hit you with hidden costs later. You can log into your personalized client portal online to always keep up with every detail, and every change order is well documented. It has been a real pleasure working with these guys and I would highly recommend them for any house construction project in the Austin area.
