Joanna did an excellent job designing my new bathroom. It was a complete reno down to the studs/re-plumbing/re-wiring. The room is 6' W x 8' L x 11' H. The design was critical b/c of the high ceiling. We tiled the entire bathroom with an accent to break up the height. She turned a 30 year old bathroom (with tub) into a beautiful walk-in shower design, with customer designed/made cabinets and mirror. The end result matched exactly the design and I'm extremely happy and will return again when we tackle our next bathroom.

Joana is very professional and sweet. Her design ideas are very precise and clear. She always provides a sketch of what we have imagined and we discuss whether it needs changes or additions. She understand the clients needs and work openly and close with them.

Joana helped me source a door panel for an integrated fridge that I had recently installed during a 'nightmarish' renovation by Pure Kitchens Ltd. The fridge panel was accidentally damaged shortly after it was installed by a repairman not affiliated with Pure Kitchens Ltd. and who agreed to pay for a new panel. Pure Kitchens Ltd., however, refused to sell me a replacement panel unless I paid him the remaining 5%, despite them not having completed all the work they were supposed to do (guess they thought they now had me at their mercy with the damaged panel!). So having Joana step in and offer to help source the panel for me was a huge relief. She even found someone who would measure and cut the panel for me, which saved me more time and stress! She was very understanding, knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, of all the designers I saw that week (while searching) who gave me their business cards and asked me to email them with more details, Joana was the only one who actually returned my email! On top of that, she also followed up with me about a week later to see how things were going. After I passed along Joana's quote to the repairman, he thought he could get it cheaper. I passed this information on to Joana and rather than being angry for not closing the sale, she was very understanding and told me to call her back if the repairman's plans don't pan out. She was more concerned with helping me than with just making a sale! Given the terrible experience I had just gone through with the contractor, Joana's help and approach was very much appreciated (hence this glowing review). Thank you again, Joana. Did a major renovation job on our 115+ year old house. Purchased all my tiles,plumbing fixtures, lumber and building materials from Downtown Tile. Obtained advice and recommendations for products . They were always very professional, helpful and gave me wonderful advice for products as well as for great trades people.

I contacted Downtown Tile, on watching a segment on House and Home TV. I heard they did custom work, something that peaked my interest. I called to speak to someone who does design, spoke to Joana and set up an appointment with her. Joana was extremely helpful. She understood my needs, was open to providing as many design options, as I needed. I sent her numerous emails, with design ideas and she was very patient and understanding with me being over zealous in providing her with more and more information. Joana was also very quick in responding to my requests and I have been thrilled with the service I was getting.

I was surprised when I walked south along Ossington Ave. in Toronto and discovered this terrific bathroom/kitchen showroom. Great selection and good prices compared to other high-end retailers. I was working with a designer for my very small condo and she, and the designer from Downtown Tile, Joana, made a drawing of a bathroom vanity with undermount sink and generous stone surround. The pricing for removal of an old-fashioned vanity, and cheap toilet, fabrication of the custom vanity and installation of vanity and toilet was reasonable. There were some glitches ( no tile under the existing vanity) but they were handled well, and everything went well. The delivery was the day before, the plumber was terrific to work with and he did a very professional job. Needless to say, I highly recommend the Downtown Tile Centre... especially for urban dwellers.
