“As a Sacramento-area artist who lives near the American River, Swanigan skillfully brings the outdoors indoors with rich oil paintings that evoke calm, luminous landscapes and riparian textures. His paintings of white cars and intersections are equally compelling and make a wry commentary on the way we humans are in this era. His attention to light and tonal variation reflects a deep connection to the landscapes he observes on his bicycle rides along the riverbank. Each piece — such as Spring Rain at Five Points and North View — reveals a quiet, meditative beauty that invites viewers into everyday scenes. Why I love his work: - Sacramento landscapes that feel like home - Skilled use of oil paint to capture light, texture, and mood - A grounded connection to local natural beauty and a dry wit with his street paintings If you're looking for oil paintings with character, subtle emotion, and a strong sense of place, Wes Swanigan is an artist worth following. His work offers a reflective respite—while celebrating the power of intimate, landscape-driven storytelling. Highly recommended.”

“I will admit I was nervous at first, being such a big purchase. But after dealing with Shannon at Father and Forest, and with him laying out the process and keeping in contact through out the process of our beautiful walnut dining room table. The entire process was flawless and easier than I anticipated, even my husband was pleased with the entire process and he's the tough one to put a smile upon his face.”

“I commissioned Jan with a simple task - a painting of a martini glass and cosmopolitan, for our 30th wedding anniversary. She went WAY above and beyond! She asked great questions about colors and themes, added details to commemorate our 30th, so as to paint just the right thing! We love our gorgoeus new painting! We highly recommend Jan Weiss!”
