For initial bidding or monitoring project execution, I strongly believe that employing a secondary "consulting" contractor is frequently money well spent for larger home repairs. Side-by-side assessment of proposals with varying detail, material and construction methods can be very difficult. Moreover, adherence to a contracts material specifications and standards of workmanship obviously can't be blindly assumed especially in an era of subcontracting. During a Hardie Board residing project, I encountered evidence of water intrusion in the original siding that ultimately impacted house framing, an attached deck and a covered porch. Our siding project had been extended beyond the anticipated duration due to August 2018's heavy rainfall and I had concerns that our contractor wasn't sufficiently investigating potential issues. I didn't have enough expertise to determine the required repairs and reasonable costs. Furthermore, my wife and I had an anniversary vacation to Hawaii in the upcoming week - the worst timing for worrying about critical repairs. I was familiar with the high quality craftsmanship of AJD Builders through acquaintances. I had a meeting with Anthony DiCristina to propose a consulting arrangement where AJD developed a detailed repair plan, managed pricing negotiations, and made daily site visits to monitor construction by the original contractor. In addition, Anthony determined that we could have a valid insurance claim due to deficient original construction. In the following week, we left for our vacation with Anthony DeCristina serving as our sole agent to monitor construction, meet with insurance adjusters and provide daily updates with photo documentation. Our successful insurance claim aside, the consulting services provided by AJD provided tremendous value. AJD Builders will be a top choice as a primary contractor or consultant for future projects. I wish we had employed Anthony to manage our initial siding bid process.

AJD is absolutely amazing! We used Anthony and his team to renovate our bathroom and we're so happy with the results. We have selected Anthony from AJD Builders after interviewing 5 different companies. Our project was extensive addition and complete renovation of the whole part of the old house. Anthony was the best fit for us for this project. We required someone who will not just blindly follow instructions but rather guide us and suggest and recommend the best long term solutions. We demanded quality and we received it. Anthony has a great team and worked only with the right contractors for our job who were willing just like him to provide the best solutions in often complex or unusual situations that you encounter with a custom project. We hired AJD Builders to redo our deck and were extremely pleased. Anthony talked out all the different ideas with us to figure out what we wanted, not what he thought we should have, like other contractors have done with us. He is very concerned with doing things properly and with integrity. When he found out that the base of our deck was offset and not even attached to the house, he reconfigured it, which wasn't part of the original plan. At one point, when we were concerned that we might be losing some space, he came right over and talked out all the possibilities with us to help us figure out a solution. Our deck looks beautiful and we have received so many compliments on it. I would feel confident recommending AJD Builders to anyone looking for quality workmanship.

He is ONLY concerned about his schedule not yours. If you're lucky your project will get done 1 yr after the promise date.....piece meal and sloppy. Sloppy,dirty job site, disrespectful of your home, poor control of subs, very little quality control, SUBPAR CONSTRUCTION. Be prepared for more construction to correct their construction. But really wants to "just make you happy!"

We have been very happy with AJD Builders. We did a major kitchen and bath reno. Though we didn't expand our home's footprint, we needed to do some structural work in order to open up load bearing walls. Anthony's team was great. Everyone that came into our house was pleasant, respectful of our home, liked what they were doing, kept things tidy (there is always dust) and not "creepy." This was key because we have children and wanted to make sure they felt safe when they came home. AJD takes pride in their work and do a high quality job. Their craftsmanship is excellent. I am particular and am detail oriented and they were always open to answering my questions. They always kept me informed of what was going on and what was coming next. Project planning is important to me. They were always on top of things. From a timing perspective, we were very close to the original schedule. The only delays (I don't even know if I would call them delays when it was just a couple days) were not related to AJD but my kitchen designer's installer's schedule. Regarding budget, it was accurate. We added on things and AJD would tell us how much it would be so we could decide if we wanted to do it. AJD also helped weigh things to determine whether that was the best place to spend our money. AJD's bid was in line with the other bids we received so I thought fair pricing. Bottom line is I would definitely hire AJD again!

AJD did several projects for us: basement, bathroom, kitchen and family room. End product was good and we are considering using them for a future project. In general their workers and sub contractors were polite, neat and timely. There are always issues with projects not going fast enough but in the end it was worth the wait.

We hired AJD builders to do a complete gut job of our kitchen, build a new mudroom, new entranceway and several other projects. Without any architectural drawings, Anthony and his team were able to translate our needs and ideas into a reality. Once the demolition was complete, it was clear that our house was truly a mess. Nothing was square and most of the existing support beams and plumbing had to be ripped out and brought up to code. The subcontractors that AJD chose did amazing work and were very professional. Our project manager and the rest of the guys on the AJD team might as well have been part of our family. They were perfectly trustworthy, competent, clean, and respectful. Our project was large and complicated and took approximately six months to complete.

I hired AJD Builders to fix some major repairs to my home after Hurricane Sandy deposited a large tree on the back of our home. As a long-time homeowner, I have had many different contractors work on my houses for variety of large and small projects. AJD Builders was far and away the best. After bidding this project out to 3 contractors, I selected AJD for the following criteria: 1. Clarity in bid pricing and project description 2. Lowest cost 3. Shortest project timeline 4. Best availability to start the job 5. Best availability to answer questions during the bidding process. AJD delivered the project as requested and on time. During the project, I asked for four change order quotes and moved forward with two. AJD delivered those immediately without affecting the project timeline. In addition the pricing was very reasonable. The quality of the individuals was of very high caliber. They not only knew their trade very well, but they had clever and creative solutions to the design that really made the final touch stand out. I look forward to hiring AJD Builders for my next project.

We cannot say enough good things about AJD builders. We did a complete rebuild of our home and they came in on time and on budget, both of which were extremely important to us. Their subcontractors were all of the highest quality. One of the most daunting things of a rebuild is all the choices- from windows to light switches and everything in between (tiles, faucets, flooring). Anthony was fantastic to work with- he got a sense of our tastes/style quickly and guided us not only to great vendors, but even made recommendations on selections that were appealing to us and within our price range. Most importantly, we are tremendously pleased with our finished home- even now almost 5 years later. Anthony's attention to detail and craftmanship is second to none. We recommend him most highly.
