ALIZZI CONSTRUCTION LLC

I was a neighbor to a DC rowhouse that this company gutted and popped up, a process which took 18 months. There was water damage to my house and backyard that they fixed poorly and incompletely, and then never returned to fix - despite repeated promises. When I got 3 different quotes from other contractors to fix the damages, and offered to go with the lowest one, Alizzi said he would only pay HALF of what the lowest cost would be. Instead of being fair and a good neighbor, I was left high and dry - even after deciding not to file a claim with my home insurance company for the damages, since I was trying to be neighborly and not bring a claim against him in the first place. My mistake.

i hired this man while I was still in L.A. to do work in Georgetown Washington DC. I never met with him during the scope of work. As they say, I took a chance. He and his company were wonderful. they outlined all the scope of work and there were no surprises. everything was done super fast, as we closed on the property June 30, and moved in July 25! i really recommend them highly! I rate them as excellent and trustworthy, as I receive many packages and furniture and they took care of bringing those in as well.

Wonderful work and most importantly, fantastic attention to detail. Great design - LOVE the selection of floor tile that feels like wood.

We are currently working with this company to complete a project that began in October 2013 (13 months ago) that was expected to take 2 weeks. There have been multiple issues with installation of grout, tile, and tub including massive leaks through both levels of our house. This company was initially flexible and easy to work with, but we encountered increasing resistance as problems continued. The incorrect installation has been verified by three independent bathroom contractors. It has been very difficult to not have use of our master bathroom during pregnancy and the last few months with a newborn and out of town guests. Our bedroom was covered with dust as tile and boards were cut in the bathroom and care was not taken to control dust at all. We are looking forward to a timely resolution of this matter. At this time we are working with a lawyer for resolution. The photos speak for themselves. Update: After a year and a half and a complete silence from Alizzi after an angry email from him about our review, the lawyer we were working with indicated we had to either give up (and lose $7k) or sue, likely win but then face the challenge of trying to collect. Given the headache we had already gone through, we decided to fold and went with a different company to completely rip out and redo the work that Alizzi Construction had done. Everything was taken out and redone in 1 week, we never had to move out of our bedroom due to construction dust, and the experience was a night and day difference. We lost a lot of money but in the end the new contractor cost less and did everything right - no issues 2 years later so it was worth it. Go with this company at your own risk.
