Dalen and team renovated our Capitol Hill Craftsman. They showed amazing attention to detail and craftsmanship across many trades. In addition to modernizing our home with an updated layout, change in the ground floor plan to expand our kitchen and add french doors and a finished basement, Dalen kept meticulous attention to preserving the original details in renovated parts of the home that make it unique. In our dining room, woodwork on one side is 100+ years old, on the other, it is brand new, and no one can tell the difference! We can't believe we get to live in such a beautiful home! Dalen and his team were fantastic, from start to finish. We did a major renovation on our over 100-year old Capitol Hill home, which included adding an entire second story. The quality of the work was outstanding. Dalen is very detail oriented and holds all his employees and subs on the project to very high standards. He was frank with us from the beginning regarding his expectations for cost and timing of the project. When overages or delays occurred (which was expected with a project of this magnitude and scope), Dalen was prompt and honest with communicating the issues to us as well as coming up with mutually agreeable solutions. I also cannot say enough great things about our onsite manager, Ryan. Ryan and Dalen were in constant communication to keep our project on schedule and on budget. Even on the busiest of days, he took the time to talk with me about the project and keep me in the loop. He was super helpful and responsive to any of my requests. We love, love, love our 'new' old home and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Dalen and his team.

Dalen and his crew are the very best (and I'm not given to hyperbole): beautiful results, excellent teamwork, on time and on budget. I really could not have asked for more. I especially appreciated that at every stage of the project, Dalen and our site manager, Dave, communicated options and progress. We opted to stay in the house while the kitchen was completely redone -- so we had the opportunity to observe the progress and interact with the workers every day. They were a delight to work with. Almost makes me wish I had another room to remodel!

I had a major construction to add a 2nd story to my little old 1900 style house in Seattle Washington. My architect is Bill Denny, and my contractor is Dalen of Bakstad Construction. Both formed a wonderful and effective team that created a design and work I would have never envisioned possible. Bill Denny, who has a great vision and created a design that transformed my little old one story house into a beautiful 2 story new style modern house. The design is not just a box style house, but with style and character. Dalen of Bakstad Construction worked closely with me, email me with a weekly spending spreadsheet that explains his estimates and actual spending, so you will know weekly where your money is being spend on. When I choose the exact hardware and style I want, Dalen emails me to sign off my chosen items, so there won't be any misunderstanding of what I want. Dalen's assistant David, is great to work with, does wonderful work and more than happy to do what was asked. All of Dalen's team, drywall, painters, cabinet work, tile, counter top, etc., are all wonderful team of workers. I am more than happy with their work, and definitely recommended both Bill Denny Architect and Dalen of Bakstad Construction.

I have worked with Bakstad Construction on numerous projects ranging from smaller interior remodel, to large complex additions to homes. Dalen Bakstad and his crew are very professional, efficient, attentive to a clients needs, and a pleasure to work with. Clients are kept well informed of the process, costs, and schedule. Our last project took about 70% of the scheduled time for a typical addition/ remodel of it's scale, resulting in great cost savings to the client for the project and temporary housing. Every one of my clients that has used Bakstad Construction have been very happy and would highly recommend them. They are my go-to recommendation for a general contractor.

Our experience with Dalen was outstanding. He was very thoughtful and deliberate with his bidding and the total cost of the project was almost exactly what he originally bid. He was easy to work with. He listened to us and worked hard to build us our dream house. He communicated pricing to us weekly and was always responsive. The quality of finish in our home is top notch. We were blown away at the final product! The project went a little longer than expected, but with a project this large that's to be expected. Overall, we highly recommend Bakstad construction. You'll be in great hands!

I have had the pleasure of working with Dalen of Bakstad Construction for over 5 years now. From conception of the project to the final punch list you would be hard pushed to find a more organized attentive contractor. The schedules are constantly being updated so we are always in the loop and as a painting contractor are given all the information and tools at his disposal to deliver the exceptional quality that he requires.
