Cornerstone Remodeling

From the beginning of the project to the end, the professionalism of everyone at Cornerstone Remodeling shined through. Excellent follow-through, great communication, clear understanding of the progression of the project. This was our second time working with Cornerstone as they also remodeled a bathroom for us, and how wonderful for us that we did. Our kitchen came out fabulous as did the rest of our downstairs. They were on time, courteous, flexible, and had some great ideas in terms of design. Highly recommend Cornerstone for any project.

My wife and I were looking for a contractor that could do high quality work for an affordable price. We had received a complex and pricy quote from another contractor that was significantly beyond our budget. When I came across some of Cornerstone Remodeling's *gorgeous* work online, I contacted them to ask whether they only did large high-end projects, or whether they could also do simpler more modest work. I received a prompt response from Blake Smith, VP of Sales, telling me they could do jobs of any size or complexity. We requested a quote, and Tom McAuliffe came by to meet with us. Tom is so relaxed and low-pressure, and has such a flexible can-do attitude, that we were really hoping his quote would be affordable. He also understood that we were time-constrained by my wife's pregnancy. Not a problem for scheduling: They have multiple crews that they can shift around as needed. And as to the work we wanted done, Tom answered all our questions and wasn't stumped by anything, and made it clear that if we needed anything additional while their crews were in the house, they could accommodate that. Cornerstone Remodeling's quote came in well within our budget, at roughly half the cost of the other quote. That made it possible for us to add all of the optional wish list items elsewhere in the house that we had asked Tom to quote, which was so helpful! Tom did a great job communicating with us, giving us a clear sense of what was happening when, and following through on any questions or requests that we had. He is so easy-going and yet manages to stay on top of details. Even in cases where problems or issues came up with other parties, he was proactive in trying to keep everything moving along smoothly. Tom's crew was such a pleasure to have around, that we truly miss seeing them. The majority of the work was done by Abraham, with other parts of the plumbing, tile, electrical, glass, and roofing work done by other professionals. Every one of them did fantastic work, and we were delighted with the results. (My wife and I joked amongst ourselves that we should damage a wall just so we could hire Abraham again and have the pleasure of watching his skim-coating skills.) And they were so flexible and accommodating of material delivery delays and my wife's advancing pregnancy. I can't say enough good things about Tom and his people, and it's a pleasure to recommend them: Great quality, very flexible and accommodating, and very reasonable pricing. We absolutely intend to use Cornerstone Remodeling again in the future, and we look forward to working with Tom again.

I found Cornerstone on Houzz and called them. Within 2 days, Blake came to our house, discussed the project and submitted a detailed and accurate scope of project and estimate. Much more impressive and thorough than the other vendors I reached out to. Within 2 1/2 weeks, our project was started. We had an outdated, small, top floor bathroom that needed totally redone. We had the old 1960's tub-and-shower- in-one and barely enough room for a pedestal sink. We ended up with a seperate shower and full sized bathtub. Cornerstone gutted that bathroom and an existing closet next to it within 4 days. The crew was so meticulous about continuously managing the dust and keeping all their equipment set aside in a perfectly organized area. In fact, I can't say enough about the team who worked on this project. Not only did the project manager stop by daily, but we had a very professional, respectful and good-natured head remodeler who led a great and likable team of workers. The project tracked exactly as the initial timeline said it would. Unprompted, the project manager even worked some hours on a few Saturdays to ensure the timeline was met. Unbelievable service and pride in their work! The quality of the work was top notch. No detail went unnoticed. Project came in on time and within budget. Now THAT'S amazing service. Due to faulty workmanship from the original renovation 7 years ago, I found myself having to repair my small master bath shower. I found Cornerstone on Houzz and Blake met me at my home just two days later. That same night, I had a complete estimate outlining the job. No gimmicks--just a straightforward estimate explaining in plain language two different options to achieve what I needed vs. what I wanted. Although there were a few delays (none any of their fault) that ranged from tile and vanity that arrived damaged, to the Pope's visit, the job went smoothly thanks to the incredible attention to detail, care, courtesy, and professionalism of Cornerstone's people. Everything about their work--from site prep to cleanup--is meticulous and exacting. There's no other company I'd rather work with for the big project we'll undertake in a few years when we put on an addition and expand the kitchen. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I've had good experiences with contractors, and I've had bad experiences with contractors. This was the first time I had an **outstanding** experience with a contractor. Blake and his team, with special props to Tim, the project manager, did a magnificent job of completely renovating the bath and kitchen in a DC studio apartment. The communication was excellent and Tim kept me up to date with routine emails and photos. The crew clearly took great pride in their work, and they deftly managed a slew of rules and regulations that the condo building has regarding contractors. That alone was quite a feat. I would hire them again, and plan to. Cornerstone Remodeling has my highest possible recommendation.

I hired Cornerstone to upgrade my kitchen and remodel two bathrooms. The cracked tile in the bathrooms dated to 1923, the year the house was built. Removing the old tile was dirty and labor intensive. The two workmen were great to work with and kept the construction area as well as the rest of the house as clean as possible. The work was done on time and on budget. Cornerstone will be my go-to contractor for future projects.

Installed 400 sq. ft. wall for museum being build on campus of Catholic University. A a mosaic artist I was hired to create some artwork and to source materials for a specific gallery. The "Mysteries of Light" gallery at the Blessed John Paul II Shrine will open to the public in July 2014. The gallery walls are covered in a beautiful split face marble. Crew was EXCELLENT: worked efficiently, were polite, professional and the job was completed in an astounding quick amount of time. I will definitely look to work with this group again. Cornerstone came recommended to me by someone in my building and Architectural Ceramics where I purchased the tile. From my initial outreach to them through completion of the job, Cornerstone was incredibly professional. I appreciated their responsiveness to communications (email and phone calls) and nearly every message was addressed the same day of the inquiry. I liked that there was no pressure to get my job scheduled as they simply said to let them know when I was ready to get to work. Cornerstone showed up on time and completed the work on schedule. I did offer them feedback after the job about taking more time to cover up furniture, TV's etc. given all the dust that's created and they seemed generally appreciative for the comment. I would absolutely use Cornerstone in the future and highly recommend them.

After a tedious search for a company I could trust to meet my remodeling and budget requirements, I finally came across Cornerstone Remodeling. I was very impressed by the representative who explained in detail how they could accomplish the job on schedule and keep me at or under my budget. My remodeling requirements were quite extensive. I needed an addition to my home which included two new bedrooms and a custom tiled bathroom. They were extremely professional, always showed up on time and performed way beyond my expectations without delays.
