We would like to recommend Chris Garbe and the entire team at GCR Services and especially John and Martin. We completed a full kitchen remodel in November, a three-month project. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. By the time we connected with Chris (a referral from our real estate agent), we had rejected one general contractor who submitted an excessively high bid and also balked at installing the cabinets we believed we wanted at the time. That GC wanted us to use his preferred cabinet supplier who couldn’t deliver what we wanted. We had been through several cabinet companies and through each iteration, had narrowed down the plan to exactly what we wanted. Chris told us that our plan was completely doable. But he suggested we might want to speak with a kitchen designer he frequently worked with. We were glad we did as she was able to improve on what we thought was already a perfect plan. Chris was extremely easy to work with. Martin led the demolition effort plus the new electrical, windows, HVAC, rough carpentry and plumbing work the project required. As with any project, demo revealed hidden problems which required modifications to the plan. Every change was communicated to us with a solution that was acceptable to all…even using our “suggested” solution many times. Nothing phased them. Every workday ended with a complete clean-up of the site with extra time spent every Friday to make sure we were left with a clean worksite going into each weekend. Our “perfect” plan had many elements which required custom solutions…a moveable island, a custom hood, use of specific fixtures and custom cabinet configurations which required modifications…many of which were firsts for GCR. Again, nothing was too big of an ask for them. Each element was handled to perfection by John, who led the cabinet installation and finished carpentry work (with Martin’s help). He listened to our desires, made his own suggestions and executed on each one to our satisfaction. John was amazing to work with…and funny too! Their follow up was also exceptional. We had one pesky electrical issue which proved difficult to resolve but they kept at it with multiple visits until we and they were satisfied. We’ve also spoken with Chris regarding two future projects and fully expect to use GCR again. I am so grateful I hired GCR after a referral from my realtor. From my initial meeting with Chris & throughout the entire project, he & his team were such a joy to interact with. They were dependable, trustworthy & highly skilled. My "new" home had not been updated in 25+ years & was in need of a major rehaul. They removed walls, made the popcorn ceilings disappear, took out unnecessary closets to add more room to both bathrooms, raised sunken floors along with raising the dated rock fireplace, to create one large even surface, and much more to achieve the open concept living I had envisioned. Their team included a master carpenter who was able to transform a badly designed cabinet space into an amazing coffee bar. They encountered unforeseen issues along the way-rusted & clogged pipes, crumbly insulation, etc. They were handled appropriately & with a sense of urgency. Their hard work & attention to detail made my home a STUNNING one. I referred GCR to my daughter & son-in-law for their primary bath update. They were, also, ecstatic with the results.

Chris and crew have been responsible for updating my properties over the last five years. They have done an excellent job, were knowledgeable, professional and did a superb job. When they were done, they left the property in clean tip top shape and I was able to move new tenants in immediately. Chris is very personable and on top of his projects. I would highly recommend him for any home project a person may have.

GCR Home Services came highly recommended to us from both friends and family. Chris and his outstanding crew remolded our entire first floor and also new siding on the front of our home all while we lived upstairs! It was a large undertaking which Chris took us through painlessly leaving us with a beautiful home which we are enjoying everyday. We have used GCR to remodel almost every room in our home. I can’t imagine allowing anyone else to do work on our house. Chris and his workers have done everything from remodeling our kitchen to creating an outdoor kennel for our dogs. Everyone who works for GCR have always been polite and helpful. The area being worked on is always left cleaned up at the end of the day. On the rare occasions that we have used other contractors, I am always surprised at the mess they leave at the end of each day. We’ve been spoiled by the Chris and his crew!

Chris recently finished a bathroom remodel in our home and it came out beautiful! Chris and his entire team were professional and trustworthy. Chris Garbe and his team did a complete renovation of our Long Beach condo including opening up and building a brand new kitchen , complete guest bathroom renovation and converting dining space to a den/guest room, painting the whole house and putting up new lighting for the whole house. Since the condo was in a high rise there were many restrictions for the contractors to work there. Chris partnered with the HOA and did a wonderful clean job that impressed the HOA so much so that they commented it was the cleanest demolition they had ever seen. Chris and his team were very professional and reliable and always had a solution for any issue that cropped up during the renovation. We were in a tight schedule and needed to move into our renovated condo on a specific date, Chris and his team really worked hard to make it happen right on time. Their workmanship was fabulous and very detailed. His friendly team always showed up on time, and cleaned up after them. We were renovating for the first time and were really apprehensive because of the size of the project and also the scary stories we had heard about contractors dragging the job for months or dumping the job in the middle. Working with Chris and his team was a completely different experience and we look forward to doing more renovations with him.

Chris Garbe and his workers did an outstanding job completely remodeling our guest bathroom. They installed a new tub, toilet and vanity/sinktop, along with a new tile floor and 3-sided tile tub enclosure, floor to ceiling, including a custom-designed decorative accent line connecting the tub to the sink. The overall "look" is fabulous and we're very proud to show it off to our family and friends. All the men worked hard, paid careful attention to the smallest details, were always courteous and professional, and were very careful to keep the house as clean and dust-free as possible throughout the entire project. We are definitely going to have Chris also do our master bathroom in the near future. You should definitely use GCR Home Services on your next home improvement project.
