In late 2015 G L Perry Construction handled the demolition, excavation, foundation and framing for our new roofed-in porch/portico as well as replacement of previous wood/stucco siding with a new stucco and stone finish across the whole front of the house. This contractor was recommended to us by Dale Carstensen of Los Gatos Roofing, and everything turned out well, including their detailed and transparent cost figures, quality workmanship, adherence to budgets/schedules, and maintaining a clean work site. For work not handled by Perry employees they had access to capable subcontractors (e.g., for the stucco/stone work and some electrical and plumbing). Their construction coordinator Jim (Showalter) and CEO Jerry (Perry) were very responsive in communications with us and our architect (Jennifer Kretschmer). Jay Smith, their on-site work leader and skilled carpenter, proved expert in managing code-required seismic retrofitting for the portico, including some new under-house concrete piers and partial steel framing. I highly recommend this contractor.

We chose to use GL Perry for our remodel after my parents used them for their own remodel. Bottom line, it was a great decision. GL Perry was highly recommended by several friends who had used them for both big and small jobs over the years and after working with them I can see why. The team and crew were very professional and knowledgeable. Their bids are exceptionally detailed and they were very good at communicating timelines and issues. One of the things that stands out for me about GL Perry is how well they communicate. One of the biggest problems I've had with other contractors we've worked with is their inability to communicate - and it would always cost us. GL Perry didn't suffer the same shortcomings. For example, when walking through our house to initially plan out the work and draft a bid, they spent the time to ask questions and, when we weren't sure, take the time to explain the differences between options not only in terms of price but also time and quality. Additionally, when issues arose or a change was needed, they were quick to get us on the phone and talk it through before moving on. It seems simple but their ability to communicate with us was so critical to getting the job done both on time and right. One of the other important reasons why working with GL Perry was so enjoyable was that they're ready to make it right if things didn't go right. As another example, there were a few light boxes that were off alignment. When I noticed it, right away they were all over it and got the electrician out the next day to rectify it on their dime. There was no argument or hesitation. Reflecting back on the whole experience, I will say that they were neither the highest or lowest bid; however, their crew of contractors and team of subs were very excellent, they were flexible enough to work with our plan and schedule, they were incredibly professional, and their craftsmanship is top notch. GL Perry is worth every penny and I would use them again.

With more than 30 years of experience under his belt, founder Jerry Perry brings a high level of professionalism to each job. His relationship with sub-contractors helps ensure that his clients get top-notch service all around. His employees are always polite, do the job they are supposed to do -- and more. They clean up every day, which really makes a difference. And I have known them to go the extra mile for some of their senior clients who have had little "handyman" tasks after a big job. Overall their estimates seem to fall in the middle, but they are fairly true to the job. And they don't use untested day laborers they can't vouch for. I highly recommend G.L. Perry Construction. I plan to use them again when we build our next house.

GL Perry provided services for 3 projects for me over the last 3 years. After the success of my kitchen and bath remodel, it was clear I would use them for my bay window install and conversion of my interior sun porch to an interior sun room. After scheduling a first consult with GL Perry, both the president and estimator arrived. They spent quite a bit of time with me given I was not yet a client. Once I signed on with GL Perry, we set a start date, and just before the start, the supervisor of my project met with me to discuss the schedule and any possible conflicts. ALL the employees and contractors were professional, did excellent work and communicated in a timely manner. The 2 wonderful women in the GL Perry office almost always answer the phone during business hours. If a message is left your call is returned right away. This was a big plus for me! Another plus is that everybody at GL Perry is honest and upfront. They are like a big family and I felt like a member!! I am very happy with all the work GL Perry has performed for me and I highly recommend them. There are a few more projects I have left and I will surely go to GL Perry!

GL Perry is an outstanding small construction company. They specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling, as well as new home construction. We had our 1937 era kitchen and family room completely gutted and and re-finished. We provided them with the design. Their execution was perfect. They finished on time and on budget. We added a few additional items to the project and these were completed within the timeframe they'd given us. Of course, additional items cost more, but that was our choice. All of the workers were extremely professional and pleasant. I liked all of them a lot. The project manager was excellent, the carpenters, electricians, plumbers and all of the team were knowledgeable and of the highest quality. I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
