We partnered with Eli and the Integrity Remodeling team for a major, full home renovation. The name of Eli's business is apt: Integrity Remodeling approaches contracting with a commitment to integrity in all facets of their work. We began in January 2020, unaware of the impending Covid outbreak. The project was slated to be ~12 months but Eli's team had to deal with a number of extenuating factors which delayed us to 16 months. Eli's team did a tremendous job navigating a complex and dynamic situation. I highly recommend Eli and Integrity Remodeling for a few reasons: 1. Quality. The quality of the work is outstanding. I fully trust that when the IR team approached any aspect of our project they would do so with a deep commitment to quality. 2. Communication. It's nerve-racking to approach remodeling, which demands making decisions across hundreds of elements, most of which we didn't have any expertise in. The IR team was great at helping us understand the process, what was needed when, and the factors that we should understand about decision making. 3. Expectation setting. Eli is up front and transparent about budgets and timing, which is so important to plan, both financially and logistically. 4. Great team. Eli and his team are a joy to work with. Even amidst hard moments in our project, we felt like partners. Eli works with great subs and they were all committed to doing an excellent job on our project. You know that sinking feeling, "I wish I knew a contractor I could trust...". Very common for first time homeowners, or someone -- like me -- with an old house. Eli Israel and Integrity Remodeling is that contractor. I have had the good fortune of working with Eli and his team on two projects over the last 10 years. One was a major remodel/addition, the second project most recently was a minor project that was very impactful to my home and family. Both projects were completed to my 100% satisfaction. The cost and scope of the project was clearly outlined at the outset, there was open communication throughout the project and the everything was finished on time and on budget. Just as importantly, Eli and his team are clean courteous and professional. My family and I lived through the remodel/addition and at the end of the day the house/job site was left in a clean condition, and Eli's team were always on time and professional. We were incredibly pleased with Integrity Remodeling for our major remodel. The work was high quality, subcontractors were well organized, financials were transparent and Eli and his team are consummate professionals. Our project entailed a lot of coordination, several permits and had its fair share of forks in the road, but they handled it very well. We give an unwavering recommendation for anyone considering working with them.

Eli and Integrity Remodeling were highly recommended to us by multiple friends, including our neighbors. Our project was substantial and it was really important to us to maintain the architectural integrity of our 1910 dutch colonial, inside and out. Our renovation included a new foundation, garage, rumpus room, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and deck. Coming from an architecture/design background, working with Eli, Natalie and team (including subs) was one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done. They are so organized and detailed. They are always one step ahead. Everyone was extremely professional and easy to work with - they felt like family. Eli was always available, transparent with costs, and flexible with changes. Natalie is amazing, detailed, creative and so helpful with the all the little details. Their carpentry is top notch. They were able to maintain the continuity of the interior and exterior by matching all the new carpentry and mill work details to the original. They built custom window/door/baseboard trim, closets, stair rails and details to make our house look like it was always meant to be this way. We could not be happier with the finished project and the quality of work. If we ever move, I will ask Eli to remodel that one too!

Eli, Natalie and the whole IRC crew were wonderful - responsive, responsible, caring, professional and did beautiful work. Every step of the way they offered guidance and great advice if we needed it (we always needed it!) and were patient with us when we made last minute changes to our designs ("You want to use that unexpected space under the eves for a secret bookcase-door-reading nook? Cool! Let's draw some ideas!") They were incredibly communicative during all the upheaval of the pandemic and managed to get us back in our house only two months after our original plan, which was a pretty amazing feat given the pandemic shut down and ensuing months-long slowdown due to safety protocols. We would absolutely recommend this team to anyone looking to do a high-quality remodel.

There are several things that made working with Integrity Remodeling a great experience: 1. Eli and his crews are very honest. They will tell you right away if there is a problem and I never worried that they were trying to slip anything by us. They have…INTEGRITY! 2. Eli really cares about how the project turns out. He (and his guys) have excellent ideas and solutions to the inevitable problems that come up along the way. 3. Eli has excellent subs, most of whom he has worked with for many years. 4. Eli’s prices are fair. I felt we received very good value from working with Eli. The scope of our project essentially doubled but we never felt taken advantage of and felt like the change orders were fair. 5. Great communication. Eli was always available to talk thru any issues or to meet on site to answer any questions or work on problems or brainstorm ideas. 6. The quality of the work was excellent. When we sit in our home now we look around and everything is beautiful. There was an attention to detail that really shows. And we have confidence that the underlying structure was built properly. Eli is a stickler when it comes to waterproofing, and leaks are one of the things that can make a homeowner’s life miserable. We could not be more pleased with how our home has turned out. My husband and I were very hesitant to go into a remodel project. We had put it off for years. All I'd ever heard about remodels is that they are a total nightmare. Well, our remodel is over and I have to say, I kind of miss it. It was a fabulous experience and I believe it was because of Eli and his team at Integrity Remodeling. Our entire home was gutted down to the studs and rebuilt. A big project. From the initial bid, and continuing every step along the way, everything was incredibly detailed, transparent, and informative. We also had a clear timeline and we finished exactly when projected. Eli is a very good communicator and was always available to us. We could talk, email, or text whenever needed. It made us feel as if we were his only client, his number one client, for the entire duration of the project. There are a million and one decisions that need to be made along the way with a project this size and we always felt that Eli was giving us all the information, different options, and opinions we needed to make the best decisions. We felt as though Eli's attention to detail and care in all his work was done as if our home was his home. There are also some more technical hurdles along the way in a home remodel, permits and inspections and such, with which Eli has a tremendous amount of experience, they were handled with expertise. We would highly recommend Integrity Remodeling without reservation. We are in love with our new home.

We couldn’t be more happy with our new kitchen! Eli, Susan, Sebastian and the rest of the team were also really great. We were anxious to have a good contractor for this project as we knew it would be long and expensive. The 100 year old kitchen was gutted down to the studs and had structural, plumbing and electrical updating. While this was the highest quote, the pricing is really transparent and there were never surprises. Eli was great about explaining every cost associated. He was flexible with last minute changes and surprises that we found along the way. The crew were very conscientious about cleaning up and unlike past projects we’ve done with other contractors, they were there every day. This remodel could have dragged on for months but Eli and Susan run a very tight ship! Communication was easy and the schedule was tightly maintained. When the job was finished there weren’t any odd unfinished things or messes and the rest of our house was left in good shape. I can not recommend them enough.

We purchased a 100+ year old fixer home in Berkeley that had not been updated in decades. It was a full down-to-studs, gut renovation - new floors, walls, shingles, roof, bathrooms, kitchen and removing walls. Since we were new to houses and remodeling, we wanted a builder who was an expert in gut renovations, and would be patient enough to teach us what we needed to make the right decisions, would move quickly, exhibited excellent craftsmanship and most importantly, could handle whatever came his way calmly and professionally. After meeting quite a few builders, we immediately liked Eli's attention to detail and process, accessibility and no-drama approach. He put 3x the work into his estimates as any other builder, to make sure we understood how much things cost, and also negotiated with subs on our behalf to drive down some of the largest line items. When I interviewed his references, I was surprised to hear every one of them say, "We LOVE Eli!" Who "loves" their builder? Well, about 2 months into our project, I got it. Unlike other builders who just want to build what was laid out and penalize you for details that weren't fleshed out or changed slightly, Eli takes your design as an intention. When he sees things that you or your architect missed or doesn't make sense with other things you've articulated, he calls it out and helps you make the right choice. Almost all of his subs were very knowledgeable and helped us navigate the worlds of lighting, cabinetry, heating, shingles, etc. with patience and skill. When renovating, your builder can feel like your best friend...or worst enemy! In our case, a few things really stuck with us from our experience with Eli and his team. When things got bumpy a few times, Eli said, "I've got your back." And he really did. He and his team went to bat for us with subs, inspectors, making sure quirky issues got fixed, etc. Looking back on the other stresses in our year, it's amazing that our builder was the one person we did NOT have to worry about - his team got things done and done right. We were also struck by how courteous he is to his team (and vice versa) - there was a strong culture of treating each other and the client with respect. For us, this meant everyone was very good at their jobs because Eli retains his highly skilled talent and partners, and they were easy to work with. Finally, his meticulous record keeping, photos, invoices, Dropbox files, etc., mean that my accountant and I will be very happy come sale or tax time. In the end, we finished *mostly* on budget - we expanded the scope as we discovered unknown damage, but all of the known items finished on budget. In terms of time, Eli finished 2 months AHEAD of his original projection because we needed the house back sooner than expected. He and his team hustled with enthusiasm and without cutting corners, to ensure it was move-in ready for the new date. Our end product is...gorgeous. We love waking up in the house, preparing meals in the kitchen, lounging on our new deck, taking relaxing showers in our sleek bathrooms, watching movies in our cozy living room, controlling the lights/temperature/cameras from our phone, and just experiencing every day here. We can't recommend Eli and his team enough!

We worked with Integrity Remodeling to completely remodel our house, including moving a kitchen, removing a wall to create a great room, adding a bathroom, and remodeling 2 existing bathrooms. Eli and his team were fantastic to work with through every stage of construction. His bidding was very detailed and was always upfront about cost and extras. Eli was also a great thought partner throughout the project, with good advice about all the millions decisions that come up, large and small. Eli’s team and subcontractors were all amazing to work with and all produced beautiful, high-quality work. I would recommend Integrity Remodeling to anyone without reservation, we are thrilled with the results.

We worked with Eli to do a major kitchen and bath remodel. This was much more than a kitchen refacing and more of a complete tear-down and rebuild of half a floor in our house. From the start, Eli gave us a very clear and professional bid. This made it easy for us to digest the project and begin the process of this huge undertaking. We did get several bids and Eli's was in line with the other bids we received. However, from the start, Eli was the most professional and prompt to have these initial (and daunting) conversations with. The project itself went very smoothly. As mentioned, it was a major kitchen + bath overhaul, and during this we lived in the house with 2 small children (a toddler and a 4 year old). It absolutely was NOT the traumatic "living with construction" experience that other people seem to have. We were excited to come home each day to see how the project was progressing. Along with the bid, Eli gave a very detailed and clear timeline. This also made living in the house very manageable and also gave us an excellent roadmap of what to expect. The project finished more or less on time and within the expected budget. Eli's guys showed up on time every day when they said they would. Also, Eli was very much available throughout the project and was NEVER hard to get a hold of. Eli also steered us the in the right direction in terms of the best vendors to work with. In terms of finish work, it is absolutely gorgeous! Eli and his team have a great attention to detail and ensure that the final product will be nothing other than a dream to live with. We have been beyond thrilled to have our kitchen. We have more work still to do on our house and hope we get the to have the privilege of Eli working on it again! We are looking forward to the next round.

We just finished a significant project with Integrity which included gutting the first floor of the house and completely redoing our kitchen and two bathrooms (along with a bunch of other work). Eli and his entire crew were a pleasure to work with and the finished work is excellent. We can't be happier with how it turned out. We initially went with Integrity because we could tell that Eli is a fantastic communicator and this proved true throughout the project. When issues came up (as they inevitably do when remodeling a century-old house) he was always great about explaining the situation and brainstorming multiple solutions. In a number of cases he was actually able to save us money, for example by working with the structural engineer to find a simpler way of framing the large openings we added. I also have to say that we are not easy clients--we're both designers and we cared/agonized about all the details down to the shower drain and door hinges. Eli was exceptionally patient throughout and helped us make those decisions when we got stuck. I recommend Eli and Integrity without hesitation.
