Legend Custom Homes

When I reached out to Jon Krousie of Legend Custom Homes about building a garage, he was quick to respond. He produced a great design for a difficult, hillside building site which included a walkout basement or garden garage. He found a way to hold his price during a time when building materials were rising in cost. We made a few changes through the process of construction, but the additions were very reasonably priced. Jon’s communication was excellent throughout the process and I could count on him to lean on his subcontractors to keep the project moving. I am extremely happy with our finished, 3-stall garage and would recommend Legend Custom Homes to anyone looking to build a garage, a house or even remodel an existing home. We did a major home remodeling project that consisted of a 2-story addition with 2 lower level bedrooms, plus an upper level master bedroom, bath, and closet. This project also consisted of new siding, roof and gutters for the entire home. Jon kept us fully informed of timelines. We are very excited about the professionalism Jon offered us during the project. The project was completed in a timely manner. We would definitely use Legend Homes for a future project. Not reputable, indicated a price for a basic floor plan home in montezuma iowa and provided a price that was inflated to make a huge profit. Communication was poor. Computer skills lacking. Indicated that he sent emails that didn't go through, really in 2020. No blue prints and worked off of a list with no price quotes on any type of sub bids. Check with other builders before you go with legends.

5/2/2017 email - Kristin - I am soooo sorry to be many months late with this photo of our porch, which Jon and his co-workers did for us last October...I somehow did not keep your email with the link. And then, life simply got in my way and I forgot. Today, when I was going through some paperwork, I came across your promotional magnet, and thought "OMG! SHAME ON ME!!!" We love, love, love the porch and how it has expanded our living space...how you can see directly outside when you come in the front door...and how the room is where I could easily cozy in and spend my entire day reading. The electric fireplace was a great source of warmth through the winter, just as we'd hoped. Working with Jon was a great pleasure, and we both happily share his name with everyone who sees the new space for the first time. Again, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to communicate with you. I hope all is well with your family, and that you have recovered well from your surgery. He could spot a problem/error, which I did not see, and I pride myself in being a very detail oriented person. I used Legend Construction to build my garage and mudroom. John was knowledgeable and helped me with the details. He kept me informed and coordinated the contractors to get the work done. He was always available by phone when I had questions if he wasn't at the site.

We just completed a complete kitchen and living room renovation with Legend Custom Homes and had a fabulous experience. From the start, we were wholly involved in the process and had our expectations exceed by Jon Krousie (owner). All the stages of the remodel were on time and efficient and the overall completion date was earlier than we anticipated. Jon was on-site the entire time and kept the lines of communication open every step of the way. The finished product was absolutely stunning and more than I could have hoped for. When we were ready to build a custom home we knew we wanted to select someone that had a great deal of experience as well as someone we could trust. He assisted us with selecting a design team to create our house plans and attended a number of meetings to provide his valued input. Jon has a great team of contractors for every step in the build process. Everyone we worked with was helpful and made us feel valued. There were many times throughout the build process that we decided to make a change to the plans – make a closet bigger, change the office into a theater room, enclose the porch, etc. and Jon was always patient with us and gladly made the changes so we would be happy with our new home. Jon’s knowledge and experience helped us many times throughout the project when making decisions that we were definitely not the experts on. Jon's experience, knowledge, and network within the home building community allow him to construct a quality custom built home. Most importantly, Jon continues to keep in contact with us to make sure our home is everything we had hoped for - even though we moved in almost two years ago! We are so grateful that we were introduced to Jon and his family and that we had the privilege of building with Legend Custom Homes.
