Excellent Work and Great Experience! We recently hired Lion Construction to update our kitchen including new flooring, doors, trim, and paint throughout the house. We couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, the team was professional, and incredibly detail-oriented. The new floors look amazing and completely transformed the space. The doors and trim were installed perfectly, and the paint job looks clean and fresh with no missed spots or mess. They made sure to check in with us along the way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted. It’s hard to find contractors who take pride in their work like this, and we really appreciated their communication and reliability throughout the project. Highly recommend Mark and his team for anyone looking to update their home. We’ll definitely be using them again for future projects!

Avoid at All Costs – Worst Contractor Experience Ever! If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring Mark was the worst decision I’ve ever made for my home. Not only was the work shockingly sloppy, but it was also wildly overpriced for the low-effort disaster I got in return. Where do I even start? Terrible Craftsmanship – Every single thing he touched now looks worse than before. The paint job? Streaky, uneven, and dripping down the walls like he let a toddler do it. The trim? Crooked, uneven cuts with huge gaps that he tried to cover up with caulk (and failed). He literally painted over dust and debris, so now my walls have a textured effect I didn’t ask for. Overpriced and Dishonest – He quoted me one price, then magically "discovered" extra costs along the way for things that should have been included in the first place. Ended up paying way more than originally agreed for results that look like a DIY project gone horribly wrong. Unprofessional and Unreliable – Showed up late every single day, if he even bothered to show up at all. Left a mess everywhere—paint splatters on my floors, tools thrown all over, even a half-eaten sandwich left behind (seriously?!). Then, when confronted about the terrible work, he got defensive instead of fixing it. Rushed and Sloppy – Instead of doing things right, he rushed through everything just to get it done as fast as possible. Now I’m left with crooked cabinets, loose tiles, and a kitchen that looks like it was remodeled by someone blindfolded. Bottom line: DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. Save yourself the headache, the stress, and the extra money it will cost to hire someone else to fix his mistakes. I’d rather live in an unfinished house forever than let him touch another inch of my home.

We met with Mark and team when we were considering remodeling our kitchen. Mark outlined what the project would involve, and his expertise and experience was invaluable as it helped us weigh the pros and cons of options that helped set scope. Even when unexpected challenges came up, Mark and team were quick to communicate, lay out our options to devise a plan and then execute on the plan. We could not be happier with how our renovation turned out! We are very pleased with the results of our remodel! Not only was Mark and team professional, communicative and thoughtful, those qualities extended to all of the subcontractors we worked with as well. After having such a great experience on the kitchen remodel project, we hired Mark and team to complete two additional projects - one was a front stairway/landing rebuild, the other was to build a custom she-shed. As with our larger project, Mark and team were professional, communicative, and honest in their approaches to even these smaller projects. With the custom she-shed project, Mark's experience and forthcoming advice and feedback on options were invaluable during the design phase of the project. The end result is an amazing custom space that has brought our family so much joy in the few short months we've enjoyed it. We recommend Lion Construction for anyone looking for experienced professionals who work hard and turn out quality remodel or custom new build work!

I was referred to Mark and Lion Construction after receiving multiple bids on projects only to find them exorbitant. Dealing with Mark was refreshing. I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of; his bid was much more reasonable than others and the work was phenomenal and on time. After completion of my first project (main bathroom and laundry/dog room), I have again engaged Mark to complete more renovations on my home, this time tackling my master bedroom and bathroom. I highly recommend Mark and his crew at Lion Construction, including his subcontractors. The work is top notch and I will go to him for any future remodeling needs I have.

Mark and his entire team (including subcontractors) did an incredible job with our first floor remodel. We were very pleased with the quality of the work, communication, timeliness and the fact that Mark was always up front about what to expect throughout the project. Although these types of projects by nature seem to always have a surprise or two, Mark and his team were quick to communicate, plan for and resolve them. The finished product speaks for itself and we could not be happier with how our renovation turned out.

Mark is an amazing contractor and person. He truly treats your house project as if it is his home. Mark is honest and will make sure you know all of your options. We had a basement remodel for our 1950s home that required many different moving parts (demo, electrical, plumbing, shower addition, oil to gas furnace replacement, framing out new walls, etc.). Mark talked us through everything and was very upfront about possibilities when you start opening up this old of a home. He worked with us on purchasing of materials to help us get exactly what we wanted and to save money. We trusted Mark so much that when we discovered issues from our upstairs bathroom leaking into the downstairs we had him remodel that as well. Our project was finishing up right when the shutdown began and he did great communicating updates and a plan to finish the project. Mark is fantastic and does great work.

I highly recommend Lion Construction when you need a contractor for home remodeling. Mark and his team completed a total remodeled of two bathrooms and most of a kitchen in a 1,600-foot condominium before I moved in and it turned out great! I selected Mark because he is passionate about doing quality work. I saw this immediately with the bid he presented. To create the bid, he was thorough in making sure he understood my needs. He listened and provided thoughtful ideas and suggestions based on his experience. He and all his sub-contractors came in to talk, take measurements, and came up with detailed estimate so I knew the price at the start. He also knows how to work in a residence. The team was extremely thoughtful to make sure they understood and followed the condo association’s remodeling rules, cleaned up shared spaces daily, and even got to know the neighbors and their dogs. Mark set the project up to make sure a member of the Lion Construction team was here to help with deliveries and was present when every sub-contractor was working, so there was oversight from start to finish. Mark’s communication skills are very strong. He made sure I understood what was being done, regularly checked in to make sure I was satisfied with the work, kept me up to date on timelines and managed my expectations. Without a second thought I would use Mark and his team again!

We had a great experience with Mark and his crew. They remodeled our master bath and my studio space. They were knowledgable, professional, friendly and had good insights when problems arose. They also kept a clean worksite. Our new spaces are beautiful. I would highly recommend Lion Construction!

We heard about Mark from friends that used him for a major basement renovation. We had Mark come talk to us about our kitchen remodel. We were interested in doing a lot of the work ourselves and he was upfront about not wanting bid the whole job and only end up doing a little here and a little there but that he could do specific small jobs that we needed help with. We hired him to replace our windows which required some re-framing and removal and replacement of the brick exterior. Mark and his crew were here on time and did exactly what we wanted. The windows look great and the brick mason that he used for the exterior did an excellent job blending in the changes so you can't even tell the windows are a different size than before. Mark went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with his work. He also answered all of my questions about parts of the job I was taking on myself. Additionally, he has been very generous in sharing his subs who are highly skilled. We are using his tile person and drywall contractor. Mark can handle any project big or small. He'll build you a custom chicken coup, a deck, a new bathroom or do a complete home renovation. I would recommend Mark to anyone. In a climate that is full of people just trying to make a buck, Mark is a true professional who will do an honest job.

Mark did an outstanding job in my basement. The room was covered with wallboard and smelled like mold was growing underneath. There were signs that water was sipping through the concrete walls. We did not know what to expect. He guided us through the process, advised us about what to do, kept everything on budget and on time. It just happened that they had installed the boards against the concrete walls and water had sipped in through time. Now, we have a great room for an office and kid’s play. No more smell, no more mold. Mark never overpromised, was always on time and kept us apprised of any snags that occurred – like a chimney brick surround that was not safe and could have crumbled if we had used it as we planned to. Also, he kept the work area very clean and was very conscious that I had a toddler running throughout the house. In fact, he even took time to play and engage my little daughter most patiently. We highly recommend him.

Knowledgeable, thorough, honest, great communicator. Solid construction and great craftmanship. Clean job site. We needed to expand the size of our son’s room by removing the wall between their room and a large under-eave storage room in our 1929 tudor. Of all the contractors that gave estimates, Mark was the ONLY one that said that the only way to really know if it was a supporting wall was to get into the wall and ceiling to see. I told him I was trying to be budget-conscious and that I’d do some of the demo before the job would start. In the most tactful way he told me he can work with that, but it makes him nervous because sometimes homeowners don’t get the demo done in time for the scheduled job start. In that one conversation, I knew that they were the company I wanted to work with! He didn’t swear up and down that is was or wasn’t a supporting wall, he said the only thing that could make sense - that we just didn’t have enough info to know yet. As well, it was clear that when he makes a schedule he does his best to stick to it and that we’d be working in partnership. As my kids would have to move out of the room for that kind of construction, Mark came up with a plan to get the work done as fast as possible. He was spot on with the rough estimate for both cost and duration of the job. As well, the job site and the pathway thought the house for materials was clean - EVERY DAY. He was meticulous about the the work and about make it as easy as possible to live in the hose while the project was underway. As the project unfolded, Mark did a great job keeping me informed of any issues they were working through, what was completed each day, and what would would be tackled next. From our earlier conversations he had a good sense of drivers - safety, speed, cost, and finished project. Whenever there were decisions to be made, he would review with us the ro and cons of the options, with special focus on what was important to us. My kids LOVE their new space that actually fits both their beds, and I love knowing that it was solidly built and looks beautiful!

Mark at Lion Construction is that rare gem that you always look for but never seem to find for construction projects. He is the best at what he does, works to ensure your goals are met to the the highest quality without compromising your budget, and is always communicating with you to work through unexpected wrinkles and verify progress is to your satisfaction. He completed two major projects for us--a master bath remodel, and huge deck-- and we couldn't be happier with the results!
