Q Construction is a first class remodeling company. They did a a complete renovation of our kitchen down to the studs. The job took about 5 months and the crew came everyday did their work and cleaned up everyday leaving no dust. All doorways were sealed off so no dust got into any other rooms. We had a lot going on here everyday from new floors to re-staining existing floor to match, new lighting, cabinet installation. Everything went very smooth. Q Construction is a highly recommended top notch company. I get so many compliments on my kitchen and much of the credit goes to Q construction and their team.

Gary and the team at Q Construction did an excellent job on my project. They performed excellent work, stayed within spitting range of the original budget, and finished ON TIME - even during a period of supply chain delays. Issues (which are inevitable on any project) were handled promptly and professionally. 100% recommend this team.

My wife and I purchased our dream home during the early stages of the pandemic in May 2020. Though it checked all our wish list boxes and more, it was in need of some serious renovation as it hadn't been updated in 15+ years. Facing our first major rehab project with no previous experience, during the pandemic no less; we reached out to our trusted friend network for counsel in which several were in the construction business. One referred Q Construction and another vetted for us. Not only was our referral spot on, our friend in construction (out of state) looked for and asked the questions we didn't even know to consider. After thoroughly doing our due diligence, we chose Q Construction which on paper stood head and shoulders above all other candidates. It's one thing to talk a good game but an entirely different species to walk your talk. We were confident in our decision before the year long project got underway but were blown away every step of the way thereafter. Q Construction, led by Gary Quateman, is truly a throwback to a seemingly bygone era when what you say and do are not only in alignment but underpromised and overdelivered. From start to finish, Gary has been incredibly detailed in every facet of the project needs, our questions, financial budgeting, timeline expectations, committed 'by when' dates, and follow through. When challenges arise along the way, as any construction project will have, Gary and his team of superlative tradesmen do everything in their power to make it right. This includes the communication for better or for worse to clearly understand and manage expectations, along with providing checks and balances to all pertinent parties until a project is successfully completed to your satisfaction. Regarding the financial aspect of renovation projects, that more often than not go significantly over budget, you can be rest assured that this will not be the case with Gary and Q Construction without your knowledge, input, agreement and/or understanding. His experience, character, honesty, work ethic and attention to detail are breathtaking to witness and even more so to be the recipient of. Working with Gary was a wonderful experience! He listened to us but still kept us from going too crazy with new ideas so we wouldn’t go out of our budget and worked really hard to keep us in a short time frame. This was especially important as we were expecting a baby soon after. And to help ease the stress, Gary is very communicative and makes sure you are kept up to date. A perk was also having his wife Eva Quateman as our decorator/designer. This helped to eliminate wasted time from communication delays and misunderstandings of ideas.

Highly recommend Gary and the Q Construction team! Our townhome project included full master bathroom renovation, master bedroom & playroom storage closets, integrated LED lighting throughout the home, surround sound and tv wiring, installing smart thermostats, and more. It was very helpful to have Gary as our General Contractor and his wife Eva Quateman as our interior designer since they worked very closely on the construction and design work. Gary and his team are very professional and the craftmanship is top notch. Additionally, Gary's communication is great including how he made us aware of any issues and quickly provided potential solutions. All in all, it was an absolute pleasure working with Q Construction and we will work with them again!

Gary, Eva and their team are consummate professionals and were solely focused on making our new home a special and inviting place that we love. We had a tight deadline due to the closing date on our old house and needing to move in to our new home. They ensured an on-time delivery and made us feel secure through every step. This was our first time doing a serious rehab and their calm demeanor and confident advice meant the world to us. While they have experience handling much higher-end projects, our more modest rehab was no problem. They helped us select great options within our budget, but we constantly get compliments on our “custom” work ;). Eva’s eye for quality helped our rehab become truly special and not the cookie cutter work you so often see. We would recommend their work to anyone, from a modest condo rehab to a full high-end home. It’s clear from their work that our house was more than just another job, but that they cared deeply about our happiness with the end product.

Q Construction was terrific to work with. Their subcontractors were wonderful. All subcontractors showed up on the date promised and always on time. The work quality, attention to detail, & followup was great. They noticed and resolved issues before I noticed them. Their cleanliness was A+. The site was cleaned up at the end of each day. Q Construction met all promised deadlines and stayed on budget. They will be my go-to company in the future and I highly recommend them.

Gary and the crew did a complete gut renovation of our condo in downtown Chicago. There were many unexpected construction needs given our building was built in the 1900's. Q was able to come up with novel solutions without hugely impacting cost. For example our flooring needed an unplanned crack membrane layer to prevent future cracking. In the end, we finished on time, and within 5% of the outlined budget.

We hired Q Construction and Gary when we bought our home in 2013 and continue to use them. They’ve done everything from reconstructing our outdoor deck to major bathroom and gut kitchen reno. Their work is outstanding, estimates come in pretty spot on, and his guys are amazing, trustworthy and respectful (a friend came over when we were having two bathrooms redone and was amazed how clean everything was!). We strongly recommend Q and Gary.

Q Construction was so wonderful to work work. Our home was finished with the highest quality materials and the work was done so quickly! Everything I asked to be done or added on was taken care of with no problem! I couldn't recommend them more!
