I hired Rick Turek as a general contractor for two remodels in San Diego, CA. The first, in 2010, was a master bedroom/bath and garage addition to a beach bungalow. The project was completed in a professional and timely manner and came out great! The second remodel, in 2020, was essentially a full tear-down and construction of new 2400 sq ft, 2-story contemporary home. Once again, it was completed on schedule and any additional costs, were due change orders that we initiated. We’re incredibly happy with our new home and have gotten a constant stream of compliments from our neighbors. Rick’s bids are extremely detailed with accurate costs. For the most part, he has worked with the same team of sub-contractors for many years, which ensures smooth completion with quality craftsmanship. Rick was constantly in touch during the project and when issues arose, his responses were always quick and reasonable, even when he incurred additional expenses to remedy the problems. Rick is an honest and resourceful professional with a can-do attitude. The fact that I hired him more than once, is a testimony to the excellence of his work. I would highly recommend Rick and Shearforce Construction and would gladly use him again.

When our water heater broke and flooded out our garage as well as an attached accessory unit, we decided to do a complete remodel. We turned our garage into a big “teen room” and did a complete overhaul of the accessory unit. An interior design friend gave us a few names of GCs to consider and Rick Turek, Shear Force Construction was one of the 3. I called all 3 companies and Rick stood out from the other 2 right from the start. Here is why: Responsive and Reliable - From the very first time I reached out, Rick either answered my call directly or got back to me within the hour. We were never left wondering what was happening, where our project was at, what was going to happen next - Rick was on it. This level of responsiveness and communication was just amazing and gave us confidence We were kept completely informed on every step of the process, as well as given dates/expectations of what was to happen next. Professional - Rick provided us with a very thorough bid and contract that detailed what his teams would be doing and the associated costs. His bid was very fair and competitive. When we pointed out that the cost for an area of work seemed high in comparison to the other bids we received, he went back to his subs for explanation and a re-work of the numbers. For the couple of change orders during the project, he provided thorough and timely documentation and he kept track of all costs. If a sub went over the allotted budget for his area of work, Rick stood by his original quote. We did not move out of our home during this remodel and the entire crew were respectful, kind, and so easy to work with throughout the project. They were top notch! Efficient and Fast - We could not believe how fast this remodel went. It wasn’t a huge job but it had enough work that we thought it would have taken longer to be completed. We were so pleased with how efficient and fast the whole thing moved. As mentioned, Rick was on it - when he said that he would do something, he got it done and in less time than expected!! Quality of work - We couldn’t be happier with how our project turned out. We are pleased with the work provided and the final results. Rick and his team knew the best way to handle any “surprise” that came up - they gave us a beautiful new in-law apartment and an amazing teen room!! We really enjoyed working with Rick on this remodel. He has integrity, is trustworthy, was so easy to work with, and definitely knows this industry!! Can’t say enough good things!! We are working on plans for a bigger remodel as well as an addition to our main house and we will definitely be calling Rick for the job!!

My wife and I hired Shear Force Construction to completely renovate our beach cottage in San Diego, CA. Shear Force Construction did an excellent job majorly renovating our house. We would hire them again without hesitation. Rick and Morgan were a pleasure to work with. They were professional , knowledgable and they completed our beautiful home on time! Communication was very good through out the project. They kept us updated on what was happening and were available to answer all my questions by phone, text or email. Morgan and I texted a lot near the end. Morgan was impressively organized and was able to manage MANY details at a time. Their number one concern was that we were happy with the final product. 6 months later, they still respond to me and come address the little things may need attention. No major reno goes without unforeseen problems. Rick was really good at identifying issues, addressing them immediately and he often came up with solutions that saved us some $$. There were no surprises in the budget. The sub contractors on our project work with Rick and Morgan regularly and like working for them. They were very hard working and knowledgable themselves. For the large scope of this reno, everything ran very smoothly and it was a positive experience. We referred Shear Force to friends who hire them too.

My husband and I hired Shear Force Construction for a remodel and addition on our home. I really enjoyed working with Morgan and found that she was helpful, easy to communicate with and very organized. Since 2007 I have been planning to add a room and bathroom at the second floor of my two-story single-family residence. The first contractor I hired took my deposit of $3,000 for the design. Not only he didn't pay the designer but hid from me. I took him to court. To make the story short, I have collected only $500 from him and he disappeared snce, I was so devastated that I just put aside the project. Recently a coworker recommended me to Shear Force Construction Services, Inc.. After just a phone call, all my dreams came true. The project started on September 12, 2017 and was completed on December 12, 2017 as scheduled. Just on time and budget and the job was performed using the best skills and highest degree of care. The project would be completed two weeks earlier without the trust company overload. Most importantly, the $69,000 cost for the project was not exceeded. Thank you so much Rick and Morgan for again making my dreams came true. Now I can retire in peace!!!!

We signed a contract with Shear Force to construct a 2400 soft house in August 16, 2016. By February 28, 2017 the house was essentially complete except for the landscaping which Shear Force was not contracted to do. The company is essentially a network of subcontractors with Rick Turek as the project manager. We found all the subs to be excellent, in skill, timeliness and attitude. Rick was incredibly responsive; usually texting responses to our queries in minutes. He knows his craft.
