SPERBER Projects

I had a custom, built-in unit for our family room. Jon takes the time to comprehend your vision for your place BEFORE starting the work. He is a professional, plans out the work, and meticulous. For example, our walls were crooked, but Jon accounted for it, made a custom cut and sealed it so it looks great. He uses only quality products according to the budget you’ve set, and keeps to his word (no surprise charges). The marble tile work was done beautifully: perfectly even and very precise cuts. Plus, all the seals, trim, and crown moulding were done right. Best thing is that he will make the extra trip to make sure everything is complete, right down to the clean up after. He works hard to finish on time and on budget. I’ve been a homeowner for 15 years, had several jobs done, I couldn’t ask for a better contractor. Wish there was a bonus star, would give him 6/5.

Jon built a fence for me, and I was very impressed with his conscientiousness and good efficient work. He was careful to communicate everything before he began, clearly explained options, and delivered the work on time and on budget.

I hired Mr. Sperber to renovate my kitchen after I had purchased my new home. Mr. Sperber come to my house, measured the space, listened to my "wants/needs" and presented a professional package of a new design concept for the kitchen space. Mr. Sperber incorporated my tastes into the design and provided advice on options available for different materials to use. Mr. Sperber custom built most of the space himself and assisted with hand picking everything inclusive of the hardware on the drawers and cupboards. Mr. Sperbers ideas for the space came from his vision and experience and were not concepts I had thought of. At the end of the renovation, I was impressed with the design and functionality of my new kitchen. The look and feel of the kitchen exceeded what I had imagined. Over the next few years, I have hired Mr. Sperber for various other renovation projects in my home. Mr. Sperber has renovated my garage (complete with new insulation) installed a new custom back door and improved my bathroom with a new ventalation fan installation. Mr. Sperber has remained respectful of my home and is professional at all times. I have referred Mr. Sperber to friends and famy for their home projects and would not hesitate to recommend him again.

Jon and his crew did the reno work on my bedroom/bathroom area to make it more wheelchair accessible and they did a great job. The work was done quickly and efficiently, very professional quality construction and finish work. I was very impressed with the level of care to details too. They also took care to limit dust and debris with plastic sheets to separate work areas. Top quality all around. And because I use a wheelchair I was concerned that I would be inconvenienced with getting around my house while the work was in progress however I need not have worried. The crew was careful about leaving supplies and tools out of my way. Also Jon himself would make sure everything was cleared away and tidy before calling it a day. Great job !

We have worked with Jonathan Sperber on a few different projects for our 1908 character home, the biggest of which was a partial remodel of our kitchen. He did a terrific job on all fronts - discussing design ideas to meet our needs (in fact, some of his solutions were actually quite ingenious), delivering quality craftsmanship, efficient use of time, and staying within budget. Plus Jonathan is a genuinely nice guy to work with, and is versed in 'green' building technologies.
