As a first time home builder, the process of buying a lot, designing a home and then actually building a home seemed daunting, especially since we lived out of state. It wasn't! From our first meeting with Alcoa, Corey and Lori Anderson gave us 100% of their attention, answered every question with detail, and were always thoughtful about matching up our wish list with the design of the home. Even though we did not live locally during the build, it felt like we were right here every step of the way. The construction process was so easy and we felt informed and included in the process. The homes built by Alcoa are thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient, and well-built (we're talking 2x6 construction, solid foundations, the best insulation, and more!) We love our home. We were over 2000 miles away during the construction of our home, therefore finding the right builder partner was critical. Bought a building lot from Alcoa Homes. Was advertised that the over $10,000 water fee had been paid. After closing we contacted St George City. It had not been paid. Discussed this on the phone with Corey. After much discussion he reluctantly agreed to reimburse us. It has been a year now. No money. He told me to stop contacting him about this. He said he will pay it when he has the money. I want to believe he'll eventually reimburse us, but how long do you wait before you just accept that he's not honest?!

Corey and Lori have a wealth of experience, knowledge, and design skill. They combined both the art and science of building to create the perfect house for us. Corey is detail-oriented and honest whether the news he has to deliver is good or disappointing. He offers solutions to problems that arise and has a positive attitude but realistic approach to addressing them. We chose Alcoa Construction for our home renovation after meeting with several different contractors. We felt like Corey really understood what we were looking to do, our budget, and our deadlines. The many project options and material selections we faced were daunting at first but Corey walked us through it all and helped us make informed decisions and ultimately, as we know now the right ones. Alcoa includes amazing features in their homes that nobody else even thinks about. For example, they build the utility room with storm doors and external ventilation to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. In bathroom construction, they do extra waterproofing steps not required by code that greatly reduce the likelihood of future leaks or water damage. These "little" changes add up in a big way. Just like making sure that different kinds of light bulbs in different fixtures all match with the appropriate color temperature for the space. These are the little details that truly set apart a good builder from a great one like Alcoa. Which is why I'll be looking to Alcoa for my next custom home build.

Alcoa did a complete redesign/renovation of our home, including a side porch which was upgraded to family and dining rooms, the kitchen, living room and two bathrooms that were enlarged. They also built my back deck which was designed myself. I provided them with a drawing of what I wanted and they created it. Amazing attention to detail and highly responsive. They far exceeded all of our expectations and would immediately turn to them if we were to have any additional renovation needs. They are full service -- from creating the design to following through in making it exactly as it was planned. Everyone at this company care and work hard to make my renovations go smoothly.

I probably should have done more research before beginning my cottage renovation, but my experieince with Alcoa construction under the leadership of Mr Anderson was outstanding. There were some minor problems after the completion of the project, but Mr Anderson was always there to help out. The price was very fair, all deadlines were met on time, and the results were amazing! His craftmanship is only exceeded by his personal integrity.
