The rug seems really small.

Rug is way too small. Move sectional to the checkered wall, so you have view of fireplace and out windows. Two chairs by Windows, sofa table and lamps coffee table and large painting over fireplace.

black throw blanket and some decorative pillows on sofa. definitely 2 chairs added. I would probably put bookshelves on either side of fireplace with a chair in front of each. and a glass top coffee table.

Add stone, slate, or tile accent behind the fireplace from the floor to the ceiling. Add the TV above the fireplace. Add shelving or built-in cabinetry at each side of the fireplace. Another option would be to use artwork to add to the fireplace wall. Move the couch to the checkered wall with two chairs by the windows. Add a large end table to the end of the couch and each side of the two chairs. Add a coffee table or ottoman in the center. Just use one large rug. Not the medium blue rug with the zebra skin.

If you add a rug like mmganes6 suggested, since the couch is floating, the rug should end behind the couch (i.e. The couch should be completely on top of the rug, not just halfway on it)

I don't see any place to put a drink. Your room needs a coffee table and end tables. I LOVE the look. Great start.

The corners around the fireplace need something. Perhaps a couple of chairs, but even a sculpture.
