Authentic Custom Homes

Materials, such as(though possibly not all inclusive) paint/primer/corner beads/tape(for inside and outside drywall corners and seams) had lost it’s adhesion with the substrate in multiple places. The result, of course, is less than desirable. It’s as though the paint/tape is “breaking away” from the substrate. While this is not a brand smacking new build(2021), this issue has been brought forth before. Contact with the builder, or an associate thereof in late 23/early 24 was met with a request for pictures and a proclamation to review and then contact me. Pictures were sent. I was not contacted. The (second party?) limited warranty is of little value or use. Of course, this limited warranty is quite cumbersome in and of itself. At any rate, they were prompt to reply to my correspondence. And even prompter to deny me. I then noticed water spots on the ceiling in a couple areas, one coming from the area of a canister light. I had a roofer of 40 years expert take a look. It’s his profound conviction that the issue is resultant of inadequate ventilation above the ceilings which results in condensation (and may also explain the loosening of paint/tape from substrate). It is my profound conviction that I would not appreciate, nor appreciate issues as these in the first years. This has been my experience. As such, it is, of course, not indicative of the experience of others. Due to the laws of physics, as well as chance and probability, along with other variables, individual experiences can certainly vary.

We loved our experience with Authentic Custom Homes! We have had nothing but a good interaction from every employee in this company! We just closed on our house in June. We had something happen to our original lot where another builder built over on our property, which was out of Authentic’s control. Which sounds like it would be a freak out moment, but we felt taken care of every step of the way from this company! The owner Kenyon Woods came home quickly from his vacation to tell us in person about the situation. He had had taken care of offering us upgrades and waving fees, up front, so that we did not have to ask for these things (which put us at ease). He made everything more than alright for us! We then worked with him and Chris Knox to redesign our house! It turned out more amazing then we could even hope! Robyn Brewer helped answer our questions and is one of the nicest/happiest people you will meet! Monty Peliti gave us updates and went above and beyond his job role! He even brought us pizza the night we moved in! Scott Holland, the superintendent noticed every detail before we did throughout the building process! I can’t say enough about this company, but especially the people who work with you during this process!

My wife and I were so excited at the idea of building a new home for our growing family. We looked at many models homes and found the home that we wanted to build. The builder was Authentic Custom Homes. We met with the salesman at the home and horrible experience began. Monty is your typical salesman that will tell you anything you want to hear just to get you to sign the papers. He lied to us about the cost of certain things that we wanted done with the home and after we went under contract we were told the actual prices. Instead of honoring what the salesman told us, we were given the "sorry about that" answer. However after consideration we decided to proceed with the build hoping things would get better, they didn't. What came next was two months of utter frustration with the constant feeling that were being nickel and dimed for every little thing. This company is all about pulling every possible dollar they can out of you. The final straw was when we wanted to make a simple change to a light fixture. I called Robyn to request this change and was met with poor attitude on the phone followed by an email stating they would be charging me a $275 fee to change the light. Keep in mind NOTHING had even been built. Seemed pretty ridiculous considering what a simple change it was. This was our first build. We had lots of questions. I would call Robyn then wait days for her to return my phone call and most of the time I had to call back because she forgot. They were too blind to see why we were not happy with them. Overall we had a horrible experience with this builder and ended up backing out of our mistake. Much to our expectation they did not return our earnest money. Small price to pay to get out of a huge mistake. I would not recommend this builder to anyone. Dishonesty and greed are the words that comes to mind when I see Authentic Custom Homes. They have a tendency to say one thing then do another. Save yourself the headache and go with a builder that is family oriented and not all about money.

Scott Bartlow in the last week My wife and I researched options to buy an existing home or build a new home. After doing our research and visiting multiple home builders. We found that building with Authentic Custom Homes was the right choice and fit our budget. The customer service was excellent throughout the entire process of research, home tours, site selection, building plans, add-ons, decor and home completion. Just like anything staying in good communication with our home builder made the process go smoothly. We appreciated the building app that allowed us to keep everything in order and ask any questions. We have lived in our new home over a month now and love it. The quality of material plus the home builder warrenty gives you peace of mind. We had heard many “home builder horror stories” and we were not sure what to expect when building our first home. Our experience with Authentic Homes was nothing less than fantastic. Contrary to what we had heard from many people, we totally enjoyed our experience. This was only because of the outstanding staff at Authentic Homes. Sean, Robyn, Scott and others were top notch and the communication was excellent. We confidently tell everyone we know about Authentic and never hesitate to recommend them. We are Authentic fans for life!

The quality of work, attention to detail, and overall value Authentic Custom Homes provides is astounding! The combination of an awesome and helpful sales guy (Sean), an incredibly patient and responsive customer service manager (Robyn), a punctual and knowledgeable contractor (Scott A) and the fantastic Co-Construct app is a remarkably complete product Authentic can offer customers. I whole-heartedly recommend these guys if you are in the market for a new home or are thinking about building a custom home of your dreams. We are absolutely thrilled with the finished product!

I just purchased a home from Authentic. I moved in about 3-4 weeks ago. The entire experience with them has been an absolute joy! I'm not exaggerating. They have been wonderful to work with from the very start and continue to be. Their job supervisor likes to make sure everything is done right! If something is not he gets it done right. They work with companies that also like to have things done right and are very pleasant to work with! All of this is very comforting and lets you know you do not have a shotty home - but one that was done right. I have been pleasantly surprised and would recommend Authentic to any family or friend that I knew was in the market for a home! You will not be disappointed working with this wonderful company!

I am very pleased with the quality of home that we received for a great value. Robyn was a God-send, and was very understanding and prompt in answering our questions. My only complaint is that until I found Robyn I didn't know who my point of contact should have been during the building process. We started off with one salesperson, then got another. Then that person left the company and we got our original salesperson back. This made the building process a little stressful and a lot of communication had to be repeated.

Everyone we have come into contact with had been extremely helpful. They have answered or searched for answers to all of our questions in a timely manner. They are true to their word and really do want you to be happy with their homes.

I have worked with several "New Home" builders since becoming a Realtor and I am very proud to say the experiences that I have had with everyone over at Authentic Custom Homes has be nothing short of exceptional! As we all know building and buying new construction homes can at times be something of a roller coaster ride! I hired Authentic Custom Homes to build my home. I had an excellent sales representative who basically held my hand through the entire process. The contractors that I dealt with at the lighting company and the flooring company were extremely pleasant and knowledgable and willing to work within budgets and assist when needed. I have now been in my home for two weeks and the quality of the work is exceptional. I have had no problems that were not dealt with immediately. The foreman has followed up with me a few times to check and make sure everything was going well and to see if anything needed attention. The only thing that I can say is the staff and work is exceptional. I have heard nightmares about building a home from several friends and had been prepared for some problems but mine went very smooth. I am extremely happy. The only thing that could have used a tad more attention is the cleaning before move in. The tile has a few spots that had some grout left on and has been difficult to remove and in the shower as well. It was not ready to use. The wood was still a little dusty. Other that that everything is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Authentic for making my dream come true and the transisition very pleasant. It was a pleasure to work with your team. Kevin and Scott are amazing and knowledgable!!

Custom built home by Authentic Custom Homes. Builder used co-construct which was useful to review upgrades and show progress of home. All employees were very professional. The superintendent tried to accomodate all of my requests to add the personal touches I was looking for in the home. The things I did not like, if it were not required by code, they did make every attempt to correct. Everything does come with a price though! Throughout the building process, my superintendent did change, but they were very professional in transitioning and making sure nothing was missed. One critique is that a lot of the cosmetic touch ups were things that were visibly wrong and should have been corrected prior to me having to request the items be completed....but maybe it is because i am picky! =) I would definitely recommend this builder to other customers. I like that they have existing plans, but allow you to customize and change to fit your needs. Overall, it was an enjoyable and positive experience doing business with Authentic Custom Homes!
