About Us

David Munn Custom Builders provides design & build services to Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana. Our extensive services also include log homes, custom homes, light commercial, remodeling and more. We manage the process from engaging site management personnel to meet our every specification. We can show absolute grounding that our homes incorporate strategic planning to create a home with far more structural integrity then you will see anywhere. It is difficult in brief to display all of the "Value Drive Innovations" that we offer. We see that for the home to "be personal" it must reflect the values of the owners, not the builders. Our role is to integrate real world limitations with the aspiration and inspiration that you may represent. These homes are not for all, but when we do join, historically we produce a "landmark". Design & Build "GREEN" statements of personal architecture that create meaningful & healthy environments to live in from generation to generation.

David Munn is not only a great builder, but a great person to manage such a job. From the start he was great at communicating and keeping us up to speed with what was going on and what was needed from us. David is also very detailed oriented, which helped make the process of designing and building the lake house a stress free and fun project.

David came to us highly recommended. We had been searching for someone to help us with our garage loft project for a long time until we finally found David. And boy, are we glad we did. David patiently worked with us to bring our disjointed and somewhat unrealistic ideas into focus and into a workable plan. His understanding and knowledge of his craft is immediately apparent. He worked with us at every step to make it possible to build in stages (as we wanted) and then put the plan into action in such a timely manner to help it become reality in time for a celebration we were planning. Every step of the way David was helping and guiding us. Even when we took on some of the (supposedly simpler) aspects of the project, he was still there to advise and help us. I can’t recommend David enough. He’s the design and building professional that encompasses creativity and dedication and, well, it was just a lot of fun to work with him.

David worked in concert with my wife and me to build our lake home. He had been recommended by various other clients and we were able to visit a couple of his previous projects. Having been through the build process on two previous homes, I can say this build was the smoothest one by far. Communication was good, project management was excellent, and attention to detail outstanding. I highly recommend the work quality and craftsmanship.

We recently moved into our new home built by David Munn Custom Builder and couldn't be happier. Having never built a home before, we were nervous about the process. He was patient, easy to work with, and listened to our wants. The experience was amazing and we would do it all over again if we had to! (But we won't because we love our home!!) thank you David and your team for putting us in our dream home. Your honesty and dedication to making us happy put us at ease! Thank you!!

David Munn...is truly a Custom Builder as the name of his business implies. My wife and I have watched David build custom homes for 15 years and each one is unique, extremely well thought out and always has features that the home owners themselves would have never been able to envision if left to their own creative artestry. In 2008 David and his wife built us a four season room as an addition to our home. He matched materials inside and outside perfectly to the existing structure so that no one could ever imagine it was an add-on. He also recommended adding some wooden beams and did a vaulted wooden ceiling that his wife stained in a white wash that gave the room a rustic dimension for our home set in the woods. David Munn...is truly a Custom Builder.

David designed and built the addition to our home. It is both functional and beautiful. We wanted a room to enjoy our river view. It is full of windows and yet easy to heat and cool. We appreciate his creativity and attention to details. David and his crew were easy to work with. We love our addition.
