Build with Shane Homes at your own peril. Sign their purchase contract and begin your lifetime of extreme disappointment, unending repairs and guaranteed misery. Premium (inflated) price is charged while low quality/poor finishing is delivered. Non-existent quality checks, Zero customer satisfaction initiatives. Strength: Inflated pricing and drastic pushback on customers.

Our experience with Shane Homes has been extremely disappointing, from the planning stage all the way to the finished product. We paid close to $1 million for a zero-lot home expecting quality and professionalism, but received neither. Communication with our area sales man Glen at Cornerstone was inconsistent, dismissive, and often contradictory. Many of the upgrades and customizations we clearly discussed and documented were later denied or ignored, with no accountability and unprofessional responses when we asked for clarification. After waiting a full year in hopes that the final build would reflect the price we paid, the workmanship was shocking: crooked walls, uneven kitchen cabinets, poor paint quality, and overall finishing far below the standard expected in a home of this price range. Unfortunately, while Shane Homes is one of the few builders that offer customization, I strongly warn potential buyers to ensure every expectation, upgrade, and conversation is documented in writing before paying the initial deposit. Once that deposit is paid, the experience changes drastically. From that point forward, we received nothing but condescending customer service from Glen Jergeson, with little regard for previously agreed-upon commitments. We chose Shane Homes over another builder offering a lower price because we believed the quality and service would be better. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Sharing this so future buyers can make an informed decision. Our experience has been stressful, disappointing, and far from the level of service Shane Homes advertises.

I will never recommend Shane home to anyone, they are just after the money but sill never give a customer the value of what they are paying for. On possession day, the house to be possessed was dirty, they are just doing some finishing paint touches on possession day, they couldn't get the cleaning of the property done prior to possession, they had to reschedule cleaning of a new house to another day, they never install complete appliances on or before possession, they had to place an order to have the appliances delivered at a much later date. I have never seen any builder that wouldn't bother about customers concerns except for Shane, all their sales agent was after was just their money, money and money. Extremely disappointed

I had so many problems since taking possession of my house my cabinets is peeling badly. My attic was so poorly insulated that water was coming down everywhere and I had to call another company to fix everything because shane wouldn’t help me out it’s like once they took my money they were gone! One of showers doesn’t drain the water properly and it’s been like this since day one! The wall paint looks so terrible so many flaws and chips also one of the bedrooms gets so cold that nobody can use that room now! Paying extra for a room I can’t use!

I moved into a rental basement suite beginning April this year and have had major issues with build quality. The good: - Outside insulation is good. Construction has been going on all year and I can't hear it at all The bad: - Paint is already flaking off around the back door and the windows - Screw plugs in the drywall are falling out - Cabinets were not installed properly; already had someone come by once to fix it and have another appointment at the end of the month - Locks installed upside down - Walk in closet door swings in rather than out essentially halving the space available inside - When talking with the Shaw installer he also mentioned how poorly cables were run both inside and out - Dishwasher was not installed properly and smells like sewage every time it's opened - No communication with contractors; I was unable to get in or out of my suite multiple times due to ongoing construction such as pouring the back pad and not having stairs up to the door. I have also twisted my ankle numerous times because even after 6 months there is no path from front to back; every time it rains it's a mud pit and nothing has been put down to allow passage. I've found myself either slipping or stuck in mud every time The ugly: I mentioned how well sealed it is against outside noise which is both a blessing and a curse. Although I can't hear any noise from upstairs the entire space in the basement is sealed so well it's like a drum. All of the footsteps from upstairs reverberate so much I can feel them in my ears - think cruising down a highway and rolling up or down your windows and feeling that pressure in your eardrums. Sometimes they're loud enough to feel in my chest. All in all from now on I will be avoiding anything built by Shane homes Review cross posted

Best Builder ever!. Even after 3 months if possession, they took my call tonight as I had a HVAC emergency, and surprisingly the guy who took my call Mr. Nate send an amazing techie Justin in 40 mins who fixed the problem even at 9 PM on a Saturday. Love it. My property is at 58 Creekside Avenue.

2020 was a tough year for a lot of us and if there is one of the few good things that happened, it was choosing Shane Homes as our builder for our new home. As a first time homebuyer, we thought buying a house and working with a builder is scary on a time of pandemic and uncertainties. However, Shane Homes made it such a stress-free journey. Shane Homes delivered their promise of building you a home while you’re sitting in the comfort of your current home. All is possible using their virtual tours, virtual identity verification, all the way to the virtual signing of documents. My wife and I could only be grateful for having a beautiful home as much as we have imagined it to look like in the beginning. You’re buying not only the value and quality of the house but the total homebuilding experience from a chat on their facebook ads, then to a facetime call with the wonderful salesteam in Legacy, Laurier and Satwinder, to the selections with their suppliers we’ve worked with along the process, and all the way to the solid craftmanship of the tradespeople. My wife and I could only recommend Shane Homes to all our family and friends and will definitely use the same service in the future. The whole team has exceeded our expectations. Kudos Legacy Team!

I would not recommend Shane homes. They use low quality products and garbage trades people who don't care about quality. I purchased one of their Hillcrest town houses, 4 years in and the paint is cracking, tile backsplash in the kitchen are cracking, entry doors don't close properly, paint quality is garbage, appliances are garbage. Everytime it rains or if my neighbours water their lawn a lake forms in my backyard. 90% of my light switches have either sanding marks or paint on them that cannot be removed.

I made a big mistake to choose SHANE HOMES to build my house ,if u r looking for a great experience and a quality product, our recommendation and experience is that u don't buy a Shane home. They made promises they didn't Keep and disappear. I will not recommend anyone

Our building experience with Shane Homes was excellent and especially with our sales rep, Jeff Luif in Nolan Hill. We built a bungalow which was the first one that Shane had built in quite some time we were told. We redesigned the original plans to our likely and after many drafts came up with our personal design. Whenever an issue arose it was dealt with quickly but there were few. The home was built in 5 months and our upgrades were limited since Shane Homes has quality standard products. All deadlines were met and on budget. The design center was great and we enjoyed choosing all our products from the different supplies. We found Shane Homes to be very fair and reasonable in pricing and now that we are in the home the quality is excellent. We would recommend Shane Homes to any buyer.

I bought a new house in cougar ridge six years ago from Shane home. I'm surprised to know the under mount kitchen sink dropped down from granite top . I have to take a closer look the sink . It was mounted to counter top by few points silicone glue. The house warranty is expired for years ago. I don't know how to deal with this.
