My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

We moved to San Diego in April of 2025. Our new house was very different from our old, so we did not bring any furniture with us. We asked Marea and her team to handle all aspects of the interior design. The house was a classic real estate look with white walls everywhere. We only gave Marea a very general idea of what we wanted, but she took it and ran with it. She developed a comprehensive plan with choices of furniture, rugs, treatments, paint - including actual samples! We worked collaboratively through a number of iterations, with Marea supporting and advising along the way. Marea also coordinated a number of trades with a number of construction and electrical projects to support the design. We are very happy with the outcome and love the space that Marea and her team helped create!

We brought ADS onto our project when we realized our design-build contractor was a lot heavier on the 'build' than the 'design'. Marea was invaluable in helping us utilize our space and come up with ideas we wouldn't have by ourselves. Not only is Marea a great designer, but she is communicative, thorough, and genuinely a nice person to be around. She went above and beyond when our original contractor backed out on us and tried to find us replacement. In addition, she remained extremely professional with a very challenging contractor personality. On a final note, we were a couple that did not think we needed an interior designer, but now we could not imagine how the renovation would have gone without ADS. We would recommend Marea and her team to anyone!

Marea and her team are thorough, professional and excellent at what they do. We had several if family transitions happening rapidly, including relocating to a new home that was a century old and filled with beautiful details as well as 100 year old quirks. Marea helped me by creating a vision, making decisions on colors, tones and the theme of the whole home. Her work tied our home together in a way I never could have. She also collaborated with very professional trades people. We had a custom bench built installed for our kitchen nook, drapery and window coverings designed and installed and painting done. ADS supervised each of these and the results were excellent! Everyone who visits our home admires and appreciates the beautiful yet comfortable feel.

Working with Marea and her team at ADS was a pleasure from start to finish. What you can expect when working with A Designed Space: -Respect for your budget constraints (and you'll get Marea's informed opinion on areas where you should splurge vs. save) -Adherence to the timeline of the project and communication when there are hiccups or delays. -Responsiveness when questions/concerns inevitably arise during the construction phase -I underestimated the decision fatigue I'd feel with a project of this size (full kitchen remodel). Marea is invaluable in this area - she has the answers you need. -It can be overwhelming when deciding on contractor(s) to work with - Marea and her team can provide referrals to trustworthy teams with whom she is also comfortable working. -Marea has exquisite taste and will give you her honest feedback, while honoring the overall vision. Working with her helped me create a space that feels special and unique to my family - rather than a cookie cutter replica of a Pinterest image. I take any chance I have to refer a friend or acquaintance to A Designed Space, knowing they'll be in good hands.

Working with Marea on our condo was an absolute dream. I have had the pleasure of working with Marea in a brand new single-family residence, approximately 4,400 square feet, where Marea is the Project Manager. From the beginning, she shows great leadership and organizational skills to bring the project along smoothly. She has a sharp aesthetic sense that refines the project in a better direction every time. As an architect, I find her inputs very valuable and complementary to my own creative process.
