Sarah worked with us during the renovation of our Victorian bathroom and we are delighted with the outcome. I always looked forward to our meetings and her ideas. She helped introduce new concepts, colors, art work and really helped focus our choices while respecting our tastes. Always responsive and well-prepared for our meetings, Sarah helped us navigate all the decisions that let to a harmonious and beautiful result. Sarah is a very talented designer and organizer with an eye for bringing together accents and existing pieces seamlessly in a room. We first worked with Aligned Design to transform our two-bedroom, two-bathroom rental property into a stylish and modern rental unit. Sarah did an amazing job - it has been occupied since day 1 on the market. We then had her decorate our two children's rooms and she created wonderful environments that combine modern taste and her eye for color with whimsical kid themes - a butterfly garden and surfer oasis. She is collaborative, responsive and thorough. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking to bring an artistic and stylish touch to any room or office, and couldn’t be happier with Aligned Design’s work – all within my budget!

Sarah did much of the interior design in my home--from paint colors to tile patterns, from furniture to throw rugs--and my wife and I are extremely happy with her work. The greatest testimonial came from a real estate agent who was appraising our house for sale and said, "You do not need to stage this house for a sale. Keep everything in place." Sarah has what I would call a classically-inspired modern taste. In modern fashion, she is not afraid of using color or bold patterns but she does it in a restrained way that complements everything else in the home. Classically, he is very keen on accents--pillows, throws, centerpieces--but the rooms never appear cluttered or overdone. Her taste in furniture and lighting is also inspired by the melding of the classic and modern. Sarah was great to work with. Dogged, but not overbearing. Inspired but open-minded. And importantly, while she has wonderful taste, she appreciates value.

The challenge: there are four of us in a in a tiny San Francisco apartment and my husband and I both work from home so we need separate home office spaces, a kid room and a functional kitchen. We were getting by (just barely) until we had our son but shortly after that we really needed to re think our living space. Solution: Sarah came in for a few discovery sessions to learn about both my and my husband's styles and goals. She started us out with some major decluttering and reorganization to really identify how much space we really available and how to best arrange things. Just this discovery session made a huge difference (I recommend a yearly spring discovery & decluttering session) and gave us some confidence. Next, for phase II Sarah lead some discussions to really discover our style and our frustrations with the space. She was a skilled facilitator while eliciting reactions to our, often, conflicting tastes. For phase III, Sarah iterated through design elements that were not just nice to look at but really functional. In the end she transformed our work spaces, gave us a kitchen we really like to hang out in and turned a small, dark room into a fun playroom. We couldn't recommend Aligned design enough! Wether you need some re-design, help identifying decorative or functional pieces...or just want to have more fun in your space, Sarah exceeded our expectations.

Sarah is amazing to work with. Not only did she accommodate my tight budget, but also made me a part of the process. My tiny studio with a flat layout now looks so well sectioned and I've received so many compliments from family and friends for it's amazing design and creativity.

Sarah did an incredible job putting together my apartment. I was starting from scratch after moving to SF from the east coast, and wanted to get my apartment furnished and decorated quickly. Sarah made a big effort up front to understand my budget and get a sense of my taste and preferences (even when I didn't know what I wanted myself!). She gave me a variety of choices and themes from which to pick from. She went out of her way to shop for different items in person and to see furniture and decor in person. She was able to utilize discounts whenever possible to save me money. She even took the time to receive deliveries for me and help assemble furniture and decorate the apartment with me. She is personable, sweet and always had a big smile on her face. She went out of her way to make sure that I was happy with every piece, big or small. She is also very professional and she was constantly focused and attentive. She made herself available to me 24/7 despite her busy schedule, it always felt like I was a priority. My experience with Sarah could not have been better, I would absolutely hire her again and would recommend her for any project, large or small. She has impeccable taste and an ability to truly transform a space into one that feels like home.
