Kim Barthelmes is the killer combination of a fabulous interior designer and an empathetic listener. She showed an uncanny ability to channel my half-formed decorating impulses into a beautiful and cohesive design. At the end of the project, I stood back and said, "Wow! I never knew I was so good at interior design!" Kim is also a natural-born teacher, and taught me solid design principles as part of our work together. I give Kim an A for cost sensitivity. This project was originally a renovation for resale, and Kim was tireless at seeking cost-sensitive solutions that did not feel like compromises. (Postscript – We loved the final product so much that we decided to not sell and stay in our home!) Before this project, I had a lot of preconceived notions about what it might be like to work with an interior designer. I did not think of myself as the kind of person who would do such a thing. I found that working with Kim was like having a warm, generous friend who could read my mind and make my world beautiful. Kim is a consummate professional and I value her design skills, collaborative attitude, and integrity. I could not recommend her more highly!
