Vera is always a complete joy to work with and is now a good friend! It is comforting working with her, from the start, because she has the background to support my architectural wants and the visualization to understand how the design and construction puzzle comes together. With two young boys, I want a home with spaces that support them growing into adults, plus a place both my husband and I could use as our retreat together. I even started dressing in my house's color tones so that I carry that sense of calm with me wherever I go.

Prior to Florida, life was always moving at 100 mph for my husband and I. We needed a space to transition from the hustle and bustle of our big city life. I looked for someone who could help me create a peaceful home for a healthy lifestyle. Vera was perfect, she swooped in and listened to what I wanted the space to feel like and she created that slice of escape for us! With her help, my home transformed and now fits exactly what we needed--a space to breathe! There are so many designers out there. It was a challenge to make decisions on my own and I did not have the time to pull them together on my own. Vera to the rescue! We reupholstered some of my furniture that I couldn’t live without, worked in some custom pieces that Vera designed, added lighting and window treatments, and splashed on the perfect color of wall paint to show off my art collection. When anyone walks into the house, they immediately react with how peaceful and welcoming it feels. Vera Jaye is one of my favorite designers in the Naples, Florida area. My custom furnishing and upholstery workshop is located there, and for 25 years I’ve worked with top designers from Florida to New York. Not knowing if I needed a designer or builder for my home remodel, I found both in Vera Jaye. The value of hiring her was in her design abilities, interior architecture training and CAD drawing skills. This saved a lot of energy so I didn't have to deal with various people to get the job done. The added bonus is that with her local knowledge and experience, she found me the right general contractor, subcontractors, and special artists. I live outside of Florida for half of the year and she saved me a lot of time and effort in connecting me with the right people. It felt good to have Vera keep an eye on the progress and report to me while I was away. We were able to work through the remodel at long distance. It was important to find a local designer who had experience and knowledge in design and interior architecture to help us realize our vision for our unique home. She listened and understood the vision of design we wanted to achieve. Vera created custom complex concepts, and then prepared detailed construction documents for the builders. We relied on her to represent us while we traveled and when we were away for season. We valued her keen eye for aesthetics and building details as well as the honest feedback on materials and designs that we presented to her. Vera Jaye offered us a unique vision to fulfill our wishes for our new home remodel in Florida, which we did not find in other designers interviewed before her. She listened to our desires rather than forcing a typical Floridian design onto us. Very important to us, that while converting our home, Vera’s high standards and eye for details retained our individualism as a family, while she stayed specific to each member. Now, when we enter our house, we feel we’ve entered our welcoming, relaxed, and tastefully special home. We needed somebody local who we could trust to take on designing, gathering the right team of artisans and workers together, and managing the construction phase. As we travelled overseas, or when we were at our Northern home, Vera was able to open the home for trades people and provide supervision, then secure the home following each day that construction occurred. We received progress photos, and reports on their work. We also received furnishing packages to make smart choices while away. I highly recommend Jaye Design for anyone who thinks independently from the ordinary who wants their personality and design aspirations reflected with style.

I've been working in tandem, in partnership, with Vera Jaye for over 7 months to redo, upgrade, renovate the interior of my home from bottom to top. She's provided me with excellent advice and guidance every step of the way. She's very polite, professional, friendly and responsive. She's a pleasure to work with. She's always on time for meetings at my home or at vendors to help select items from window shades, flooring, base board molding, paint color, door knobs and drawer pulls, cabinetry, closets, art work, wall paper - you name it. I must not forget she has a keen eye for design, and for understanding your design style. She will gently and easily make suggestions that will fit your style that you haven't thought of. Vera Jaye has been very helpful with the materials selection process for our new construction condominium. We were presented with an array of color, design and composition choices for flooring, cabinets, hardware, tile and lighting. Vera was an asset in helping us make choices that would look nice and function well. She is presently assisting us with furniture and window treatment selection; she is able to draw upon her experience to streamline the process. She is responsive to our taste, timeline, and budget. Since we are from out of town, we require meetings during weekends; Vera has accommodated us. Vera's charges have been reasonable for her services. We are pleased with the work she has done and is doing for us.

Design here in Naples had been a bit of a monoculture, with sensibilities that run mostly to the traditional and (often overly) opulent. Vera at Jaye Design brought us a more rounded design sense, one which I feel increasingly fits the evolving demographic of this part of Florida, and one which certainly fit our own lifestyle sense for lived interiors. Our particular challenge was to take a high end new construction condo whose design elements seemed to speak more to the seasonal occupant, and re-craft the house plans into one suited for a true year-round home. In that, storage had to be rethought, walls re-routed and re-dimensioned, and space programming reconceptualized. Vera's work for us started with the builder's standard plan, and though her ingenious tweaks and guidance we have together forged a brilliantly livable target design, complete with action plan on its implementation in staging the order of work between what need be done by the developer's contractors, and what can await our own more nuanced additions post-occupancy. I can highly recommend Jaye Design for the "thinking client", one who seeks to work in partnership in reifying the home owner's aspirations for design and function.
