Over the last 3 years Tasleem & Mango Tango Interiors has become our go to firm for interior and downsizing. It’s absolutely fabulous to have somebody who can get on a video call, see the space and walk you through, given all the local shopping options or Drop ship. After an apartment flood that forced us to relocate for a few months, Tasleem was instrumental in helping us turn a highly disruptive situation into one where we enjoy our apartment so much more - and receive glowing comments from all who visit! Her first suggestion is that we declutter as much as possible so that the apartment felt roomier. Out went two wall shelves; a stand on which the TV rested; and re-orienting furniture. The TV went on a wall, with cabling and boxes all hidden - and we installed an electric fireplace in the space beneath. We brought in another shelf, used it horizontally, and mixed books and vases etc. to make the space feel roomy - and provide separation to a glass desk and chair for a home office. She also suggested using a much lighter wood laminate for the replacement flooring. And matching the colour of the floor to a new desk chair (the existing was black and old). And finally, she suggested upgrading the lighting to make it more even, and to have dimmable lighting to brighten up the room. Out went traditional lamps that were blocking views - in came super slim floor lamps. She took the time to also ask what we had wanted to do – but never done in our apartment. We quickly said: a photo wall. She suggested simple ledges & complimentary frames from Ikea, that we could adjust over time, in front of a sunflower colour accent wall in the dining area. The result is spectacular! And finally, we commented on the fact that we had some old silk prints that we had never framed. We got them framed, at a great price, and created another accent wall – this time in the living room. The blue she suggested evokes the blue wall in a home in which we lived for 20 years – and which we missed when we downsized to an apartment 15 years ago. The end result – we LOVE our new space and are grateful for the disruption we had to endure a year ago!
