Basic Landscape

After years of attempting to handle my landscape design myself, I finally hired a professional. And WOW, he did an amazing job! Ron is a good communicator who is easy to work with. He was flexible. He delivered the job on time and stayed within budget. He took my overgrown, crowded jungle of a backyard and made it into a peaceful haven, so beautiful and so natural. He reused established plants and moved them to a place where they could grow and flourish. He designed a lovely patio, a place for our grill, a natural stone stairway and walkway, and built us a hammock stand. He's great with greenery, stone, brick, and wood. He gave me color to enjoy throughout spring, summer, and fall. Great designer. His team is dedicated, respectful, and proficient.

I met Ron and his wife Judy at a home show. After coming up with an impressive CAD drawing we decided to hire him to landscape our front yard in 2014. We liked that so well that we decided to have him do our back and side yards in 2015. Ron and his crew are very professional and great to work with.

As a resident of Winfield, I have used several sever landscaping companies over the last few years. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to contact Ron Levinson of Basiic Landscape to replace a tree in my backyard. It was quickly apparent that Mr. Levinson was the professional landscaper that I had been searching for. After discussing all my landscape issues, Mr. Levinson presented a proposal to address them all. As a result, I am pleased to have the best looking yard in my neighborhood! Basic Landscape gave my older plantings new life by proper pruning and trimming, added plantings that complimented the older plantings, resolved my yard's drainage issues and brought more color that brightens the appearance of my yard from early spring to late fall. I look forward to continuing their services through the years ahead.

We have used Basic Landscape for several years for occasional general yard maintenance. The basic landscape team has always done great work for us at a reasonable cost. So it was natural that we asked them for a quote when we wanted to add a patio and fireplace to the backyard. The folks at Basic Landscape provided us with the most reasonable quote, so we moved forward with them. They were not representing any specific brands, so they were very open to any ideas we brought to our project. They also offered several ideas and were never disappointed if we didn’t love any of their plans. The designer was able to offer suggestions about how to keep costs low and which splurges might offer the best bang-for-the-buck. In the end, we had a great mix of our wants and the Basic Landscape team’s experienced input. It was the perfect designing/planning experience up front, with no games and no pressure. During construction, the crew was very careful of the existing yard/landscape and always professional, without ever being a nuisance to us homeowners or our neighbors. The crew leader was responsive and kept us informed as any issues arose. We did experience some delay during the construction, but it was due to extremely heavy rains that lasts a few weeks. That was totally out of the control of Basic Landscape, and they did their best to keep our project moving. The build phase went as well as it could have. In the end, we have a great new outdoor patio space with a fireplace. We’ve been enjoying it all summer and fall, as it creates a terrific space for hosting friends and family outside. Even when we’re not using it, we get to enjoy a beautiful view of our new patio area. We are so pleased with the results, and looking forward to more projects with Basic Landscape.

Ron came up with a great design for our front yard. They had the most beautiful plants. I cant wait till spring to see all the blooms. We will be doing a water feature in our back yard this year. Ron has great plans for it

Ron and his crew, including wife Judy, have been a key ingredient to our near perfect lawn, shrubs and large birch tree treatment for almost fifteen years. They annually plant beautiful flowers for us and have done our spring and fall cleanups. Ron installed a great landscape lighting system for us as well. I am picky and generally not easy to please. I know what I want but have a hard time expressing it. Ron knew what questions to ask to pry enough information out of me to deliver a wonderful fire pit, flag stone patio, and plantings to compliment it. Several years ago we started using Ron Levinson's Basic Landscape company out of Lombard, Illinois for a few small projects - and very quickly we were impressed with both their workmanship and their design ideas. Basic Landscape helped us choose the right plants for our location and for the desired appearance. Ron is extremely knowledgeable about different species and where each will grow successfully.
