Outstanding experience from beginning to end! Quality workmanship, stayed in budget and on time. Leo is delightful, and has a "can do" attitude. My apartment renovation was a complete gut and rebuild, and was completed in less than 10 weeks as was promised. The trim and finish work was especially excellent. I would recommend Star very highly. I am an architect, so I have 30+ years of working with contractors, and Leo is definitely one of the best I have worked with, and not as expensive as others of similar quality.

Truly the best, Leo and his team at Star Contractors are nothing but the utmost professionals. Our project was finished before its scheduled date and everything was done with proper building approvals. I wasn't surprised when my building super approached me and said that the building was going to make Star Contractors the preferred contractor for the building. Our apartment came out spectacular. I wholeheartedly recommend Star Contractors for anyone looking to do work on their home, and I will only use them again for any future renovations.

We had a very positive experience working with Star Contractors as we renovated our newly purchased apartment on the UWS. We were extensively renovating a 1200sq ft apartment in near original condition in a building built in the 60’s. It also included adding a second bathroom where there originally was a large walk-in closet. Leo, Suela, and all their workers were professional, very easy to work with and responsive to our requests throughout the project. They worked extremely well with our architect and our building superintendent. The building has very strict rules about the time that all contractors must work and the prep and cleanup they needed to perform each day. Star always followed all building rules without any problems. Their work was outstanding and we are delighted with the results. The total contract cost was very reasonable for the high quality they provided and they were able to complete the work with no contract add-ons unlike some contractors who submit low bids and then push up the cost with “extras”. We would highly recommend Star Contractors and would certainly use them again if the need arises.

My wife and I were looking to combine our existing apartment with the adjacent apartment that we were lucky enough to recently purchase. We went with Leo and Star Contractors based on recommendation of people in our apartment building that had previously used them on their renovations plus his very competitive bid. Additionally, Leo had performed a number of jobs in our building and had a very strong working relationship with the Super. Leo also had worked with the team from our architects on many previously projects which made the process essentially seamless from my perspective. The scope of the works was a near gut renovation, with all new electrics, new flooring, removal of some walls, two new bathrooms and the extension of a previously renovated kitchen. Leo provided a thorough quote and highlighted what was included / not included. The quality of the work and the professional approach have been excellent. Leo is always responsive to questions or concerns and rectified issues promptly. We had a small over run due to an unforeseen issue, but the cost to remedy the matter was very reasonable. Any other increase in cost was due to us changing the scope of the work in a few areas. Leo was again reasonable with the cost of these changes. We highly recommend Leo and his team. They are skilled at their profession. The team are friendly, respectful of the fact they were working in our home and everyone has been very responsive throughout the project.

Beautiful work, professional through and through, lovely to work with. We are thrilled with them and would hire them again for our next project. Their workmanship is amazing and they really care about their work.

Suela and Leo are courteous and respectful people to work with. While their main goal is to make the homeowners happy, they also make an effort to keep the designer and Architect happy. I have worked with them on two projects and likely will again. They will make adjustments or corrections to their work if needed without dispute or conflict. Their pricing is competitive and if changes or additions to the project occur during construction the change orders are reasonable and fairly priced.

Leo, Suela, and all of their workers were professional, easy to work with, and responsive throughout our renovation project. The job involved a gut renovation of one unit while duplexing and updating a neighboring unit to combine them into one unique home. The project came in on time and within the budget we originally set despite the standard unforeseen events that happen over the course of a large renovation. Star's follow-through post completion has also been amazing.

I have used them personally and referred them to many clients. Great work, follow-through, and value. They are fair, and add value to each project. They have done very large-scale projects and are equipped to tackle complex jobs- or straightforward ones.
