We have been working with Auburndale Builders on a couple of projects and they have been a great GC to work for. The project managers are responsive and detail oriented. They are in constant contact with the subs and homeowner to make sure everything run smoothly. Highly recommend.

We had a terrible experience with Auburndale Builders. They sell themselves as a high quality builder of high efficiency homes but clearly we were their guinea pig. When it was apparent they were going to run significantly over their estimate, they walked away leaving us a mess to sort out and clean up. They could not even deliver us a certificate of occupancy. I would not recommend them for any job no matter how small.

My husband and I hired Auburndale Builders to finish building our Boston area Net Zero home designed by Zero Energy Design. Almost everything Auburndale touched was never completed. The wooden floor does not meet the tile, the stone counter was cut too big and warped our custom cabinetry. The custom woodwork was subpar. Auburndale provided us with a long list of promised fixes but decided to terminate our contract to avoid fixing their errors. They sell themselves as a high performance builder but even my front door doesn't swing open correctly. Auburndale Builders (AB) did a total renovation of our 100-year old historic home. The project included relocating stairs and bulkhead, new dormers, new kitchen and bathrooms, insulation throughout and a new solar-powered heat-pump heating and cooling system. AB owner Nick Falkoff is an award-winning specialist in building net-zero energy homes. "Net-zero energy" describes a house which, due to thoughtful insulation and solar installation, generates as much power as it uses during a year. Our project manager, Jim Buckley, knows older homes. He was not only able to address unforeseen circumstances which arose after the walls were opened up, but to anticipate them so that nothing became a crisis. This was important as we had a short-term apartment lease, hence a firm deadline for project completion. Moreover, when we made a few additions to the scope, owner Nick was very fair and transparent on the pricing of these change orders. Overall, AB's contract bid was accurate and they worked with us to meet our budget. AB's subs are, almost without exception, excellent - expert in their craft, prompt and respectful of our home. Finally, during each phase of the project - initial contact, bid review and negotiation, construction - AB was always open, honest and responsive in their communication. We now have a charming, energy-efficient home (not quite net-zero, but close) in which we can age in place and stay in our community.

Auburndale Builders are currently completing the construction of a new net zero energy home for a client of our firm, and we have been thrilled with their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and support of the client. Nick, Ryan and the Auburndale team are doing a great job executing the high-performance and custom construction details. We look forward to working with them on future projects for new home construction and major renovation.

We used Auburndale Builders to remodel two bathrooms as well as rebuild a second floor deck. The quality of their work was excellent, and their employees were professional, respectful and kept us well-informed. Although the project came in slightly over budget (due to some unknown issues with our older house), we felt like they were very honest and upfront about issues and were very apologetic that we were going to incur additional expenses. When we had issues with delayed delivery of our vanities, they were very accommodating and worked with our schedule without any additional costs. They made the process very transparent and we would definitely recommend them.

Auburndale Builders made the kitchen renovation in our 100 year old Victorian a pleasure! Nick Falkoff, owner, was a reliable source of guidance and expertise. The project was on time and on the money. We knew each deadline and what was expected of us for item selections. The whole staff was a pleasure to work with and highly capable. Jimmy Buckley as head carpenter, was particularly outstanding, a real problem solver with a wealth of experience. Daily clean up was excellent and minimized impact on our lives. I recommend them without reservation.

Auburndale Builders carried out a major renovation of two adjoining bathrooms and also helped us with some work on an outdoor deck - removed an existing solarium, rebuilt an area of the deck, did associated masonry, electrical and painting/staining. We had a fantastic experience with Auburndale Builders. We had worked with them in the past on a few small projects and had been really impressed, so we asked them to do these recent renovations for us. They exceeded our expectations both in terms of the quality of the work/final product and in terms of the day-to-day experience of working with them. Every single person we worked with - from Nick to our project manager, Ryan, to all the subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, tilers, masons, cabinet maker, carpenters, architect) - was responsible, respectful, nice, punctual and easy to work with. The Auburndale builders - Ryan, Casey and Craig were terrific in all regards. The outcome of the work is exactly what we had hoped for. We got great ideas from them along the way that improved our plans. This work was done during the very snowy months of January and February 2015, and there were a lot of inconveniences to deal with (parking, shipping delays etc...). They all kept working right along without hesitation and didn't disrupt our family despite many days with kids at home from school. We recommend them without any hesitation.

I recently finished a kitchen remodel in my home that last had a kitchen done in the 1970's. I can not be happier with the result !! This company was the best choice to help plan and execute this project. They were professional, on time and within budget. Any problems that arose were dealt with and resolved. I would not hesitate to use this team again.
