Angela Klein, Architect

I am delighted with my remodeled ADU, planned by Angela Klein. She expertly guided me through all the pre-construction paperwork and permitting process, which I am certain I could not have done on my own. Her overall design was beautiful, and the new space is light-filled and comfortable. Angie seemed comfortable working with everyone involved with the project, and really saved the day by finding a wonderful new contractor when the original one closed his business mid-project. Throughout, Angie was great, sourcing materials, helping me decide on colors, flooring, design elements, etc., and navigating through the difficulties of doing the work in the midst of the pandemic. I am so thankful to have had her for this project, and I recommend her most highly.

I had a 50's house with original bathroom. Angie designed and helped me modernize . The bathroom is beautiful, functional and fits into my house perfectly. She is a great listener and takes your input and makes it better. I LOVE my bathroom and her advice was priceless.

We had a 100 year-old craftsman home with an old kitchen which was deeply in need of a full renovation. We chose Angie because she was an expert in this architectural style. We wanted the kitchen to blend with the rest of our home and she delivered! She came up with incredible ideas, helped us find value with finishings and gave us the kitchen of our dreams. Angie is great to work with. She designed a really nice kitchen remodel, that also improved the flow of the living space. She thought of things that I wouldn't have thought about such as lighting and ceiling fans. She was responsive to questions, and helped a first time remodeler get it right!

The best recommendation that we can give for architect, Angela Klein, is that we haven't used anyone else for any of the major renovation projects that our home required. Our first project with Angie was a complete gutting of a 1960 kitchen. The renovation results were displayed on the cover of Alameda Magazine! Since then we have renovated an outdated sun-room and gutted two full bathrooms. We didn't bother to interview other architects; such was our faith in her concepts and skill. We find her artistry stunning and it is coupled with an excellent understanding of structural issues. Angie is easy to work with; she listens to what you want and translates what she hears into amazing results. Our home evolved beautifully into what we envisioned, and Angie is a big reason why! We feel lucky to have found her and recommend her unconditionally.

We hired Angela to do the plans for an attic build-out in which we created a master bedroom and bath, and some "plus"/ storage space in an unused attic with limited access. We're really happy with the results and would work with her again in a heartbeat. She was creative in problem solving - especially figuring out how to get a stairway in there - and had a good eye for the design elements we were seeking. We had no problems what so ever with permits - even the technician at the Council mentioned it was unusual to see a building permit issued with no comments, so kudos to Angie on that. Angie's approach is to put in a a lot of design work up front so we could "see" the finished project from the start and, since our materials had been selected, costing the project was more transparent. I regretted where I didn't follow her advice - I had to get the electrician back to move a bunch of receptacles I'd had installed at the wrong height. In all, she did a great job for us.

Angie designed a home addition that included expanding the dining room and kitchen, adding a new master bedroom and bath, altering the entry hallway, as well as modifying the existing master bedroom to make it an in-law unit. Angie was easy to work with, she understood the style we were looking for and gave us options to choose from that integrated well into all elements of the remodel. Her designs and drawings were detailed and covered all the aspects of the remodel right down to the color and placement of each decorative tile. Angie also integrates green building practices into her designs which was an advantage we were happy to see included. We highly recommend Angie as she is a thorough, creative, innovative architect that has the ability to visualize your concept and turn it into reality.

Angie designed a second floor and kitchen remodel. She was extremely professional, a pleasure to work with, creative, talented and worked well with contractor. She designed an absolutely beautiful remodel for us. Highly recommend her without reservations.
