Jon and his team exceeded our expectations in all aspects of the home building and buying experience. Great quality, good value, on time/on budget, great advice during the process, including great advice on when not to "splurge" on extras that would not be worth it. Covered for a couple of mistakes that we made as the home buyer. And provided excellent customer service after the sale. We literally would not build a home in DFW with any builder other than Atwood Custom Homes.

Atwood custom homes is exceptional!! Jon, Todd and Heath were all outstanding. They were obsessed with quality and made sure we were happy on a daily basis. ( we were very involved and had lots of questions!! I think we probably drove them crazy but they never minded-they resolved any question on a very timely basis!! There estimate to complete our home was actually accurate!! Well done!!! When they answered our questions they always took there time and had knowing rational. I love rational!! For example our wood floor, tile, plumbing, wall finish and fireplace mantles were all things we wanted to be perfect and they listened and made quality things happen on a very timely basis. That is not an easy feat to perform. I’m so glad they know what they are doing!! Our friends built with and recommended them as they had a similar exceptional experience.

Atwood Custom Homes built our first custom home and the experience has been first rate. We began designing the home with Jon last October after interviewing a few other builders and are extremely pleased with both the process and the results. Excellent ideas, timely feedback and knowledgeable staff/subcontractors/designers have made this past twelve months go by very smoothly. Being first timers, we had numerous questions/concerns, but the Atwood team quelled those worries by being very accessible, knowledgeable and professional during the build. We have been on or ahead of schedule from the beginning. Communication/feedback with the sub-contractors has been open and straight-forward; they also are very reliable and courteous. This overall positive spirit comes from Jon who is very passionate about building beautiful homes and who truly wants to take care of his clients. Highly recommend!!

We liked Jon's work we had seen in other homes before we even met or hired him to build our home. We downsized from 5400 sq ft to 3600 sq ft and absolutely love every inch of our home. He and his team were great to work with, always offering a can-do attitude, listening to some of our challenging ideas, patient with some of our indecisiveness, and always leading us to the best decisions. Jon is very generous with what he offers and always friendly. We are already talking about our next creation (house) with him, down the road.

Jon was my first choice to build a home. His open and honest approach appeal to me. He has a great sense of how the business works and a can do attitude. He's not a pushover, he keeps that change book close but again, being honest and forthwith in all his doings. We haven't finished our project but amazing it is ahead of schedule. One thing that surprised me is the immense respect his subs have for him. They are extremely loyal and all agree he is a tough cookie but fair, that is why they stay with him. I would highly recommend Jon and Michelle for their honesty, approach and outlook for making something that is what you want, not what he wants. Just ask him.

Issues that arose were promptly addressed and resolved to our satisfaction. Working with Jon and his team at Atwood Custom Homes was a great experience. Jon was able to incorporate things from the property that we loved into the home -- such as using old cedar fencing in a fireplace and exterior shutters, and turning a stable into a fantastic guest house. This is the fifth house we have built. From the planning to the completion stage, this was our best experience. Jon discussed in complete detail the architectural plans and set a schedule. Jon let us know each phase of the building process and eagerly involved us in the details. Every change and overage cost was discussed thoroughly beforehand and there was never a surprise. Other than a few weather delays, all phases were completed by deadline. The customer relationship was friendly and professional. The subcontractors we were introduced to, were very friendly and informative. We were included in every decision...all in all a super experience!
