Donna was awesome to work with. Always had a point of view and suggestions, but was able to listen and understand what we were looking for. We have had the pleasure of working with Donna this year while our home was being built. She helped us through the entire process from selecting wood work to choosing light fixtures. Donna listened to our ideas and was able to incorporate our transitional style with window treatments, wallpaper, and trendy yet comfortable furniture. Donna was always willing to go above and beyond with the project. She found items for our built in shelves and cabinets and spent time arranging them in our family room and dining room. We would absolutely have Donna help us with any interior design project we decide to take on in the future.

Donna helped us finish our new build and completely decorate the house. Working with Donna was such an easy process. I am decisive but felt that taking on this project would be overwhelming on my own. Donna made ever step seem manageable and helped me to know where to even begin. She was patient and worked with me to find the “perfect” item when I had something specific in mind. I felt that, as opposed to a lot of other designers, she always spent as much time with me as I needed and was very responsive. I’ve already referred her to a few friends as I had a great experience!

Donna was a delight to work with! My husband and I do not have a great sense for decorating and Donna introduced us to concepts that we could never have come up with on our own. We quickly learned that we could completely trust her and are so glad we did! She was also very patient with us as we are slow to make decisions and not always aligned with each other! The resulting room is gorgeous and we could not be more thrilled.

Working with Donna was an absolute pleasure. Donna was able to assess our style (which is contemporary) very quickly and provided us with design options that would be a perfect match for our needs. She also took time to understand what was important to us as a family (including the dogs) and helped us turn our new build into a comfortable yet lovely home. Building a new home is not for the faint of heart! My husband and I have very busy work schedules and wanted to hire someone to help us make the hundreds of decisions that come with building a house. Donna did that and SO MUCH MORE. After my first meeting with Donna, I know she was the right designer for our project. She is straightforward, extremely sharp, responsive, and most importantly cares so much about her clients. She was the only designer that gave me clear details about how she works. Everything with Donna is exactly how she says it will be--no surprises. Unlike other designers we spoke to, she has a deep knowledge about all the details of new home construction including framing, electrical, exterior design, plumbing etc. If you are like us and have never dealt with builders, you want someone like Donna on your project. She took a significant burden off of our shoulders by being in constant communication with the builder and subcontractors. She is stern when necessary and is not afraid to speak up when issues arise. With Donna, you will get the home you want right down to the last bolt. Donna spent countless hours going to appointments with us, sending us ideas and coordinating decisions with our builder and vendors. Donna was always available to talk and responded promptly to all of our questions (a rare find in the world of home construction). She was constantly on-site making sure every tile was placed properly and every light was hung with perfect detail. She truly made our home a wow space. We also learned so much from Donna. I've just recently moved into my beautifully decorated home and I have Donna Hochman of Distinctive Interiors to thank. We were first introduced to Donna by Copperleaf Development, as we were in the midst of our construction project. To be honest, I didn't think I needed a decorator. I am pretty good at knowing what I Iike, but it's so much nicer, and less stressful, when you have a professional, like Donna, helping you through the process. She is very knowledgeable and so easy to work with. It was a huge value having Donna bringing concepts to the table, bounce off ideas, and she is very honest with you, which is refreshing. She became part of the team and worked seamlessly with our builders and trades. She is also very accommodating. She worked around our busy schedules and was always available by phone or text when I had questions or concerns. She was extremely helpful when it came time to pick out furniture. She really understood my style and picked out items that she knew would work for me and my family. The best part, she coordinated all items to be delivered on the same day, and right before we were about to move in. Being able to walk into our house, already furnished, was really the icing on the cake. Having her see our vision, and bring it to life, makes rating Donna 5 stars a no brainer. My husband and I really enjoyed working with her and we would highly recommend her to anyone.

Donna was brought in on the build/design of our custom home through Copper Leaf Development as our personal design consultant. Donna is extremely easy to work with, super responsive and has an amazing sense of style. She made the process of building a custom home easy and fun, helping us choose everything from cabinet style to handle pulls, bathroom trims to paint colors, light fixtures to backsplash, all while keeping our style sensibilities in mind and still making sure all choices were logical and made sense with the style themes of the home. Very quickly into the project, we gained 100% trust in Donna to where when selections were to be made, we would just let Donna decide, knowing full well that the final choice would be amazing. In fact, we enjoyed her work so much that we expanded the scope of our project to true interior design, and Donna has furnished our entire home! I found Donna on Houzz and I'm so glad I did! She has been a pleasure to work with and has made the whole decorating process seamless! We recently moved into a new home and needed furniture to accommodate a long family/living room area which is also open to the kitchen. Defining these open spaces was very confusing to me so I decided to enlist the help of an interior designer. We discussed a budget and she recommended a mix of multiple price options. As a busy professional, I appreciated her ability to "pre-shop" and give me options on furniture and accessories to review via email. We then met at furniture stores to review the furniture in person and picked fabrics and colors. She then was available to receive delivery of furniture while I was at work so I didn't need take any days off. I can't tell you how convenient this was for me. I highly recommend Donna. She exceeded our expectations and we love our newly designed space. I had an experience with a decorator 10 years ago who did not respect our budget and did not understand my style. My experience with Donna was totally different. I can't wait to see what she comes up with for my new professional office space! We plan on working with Donna for multiple projects in the future.

We recently worked with Donna to coordinate interior design on a custom built home. The process went so well, I not only brought her in to help design a renovation of my own home, but have also since hired her for another custom build project, and plan to do so many times in the future. Donna has excellent taste and a sharp design eye. She is also very easy to work with, laid-back and without the pretense of so many interior designers. I discovered Donna at Distinctive Interiors through Houzz. I am so glad that I did! I worked with her redesigning a great-room/family-room. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and took those ideas and came up with several options which would work with the space. After talking with me again, she found many pieces that would work and never pressured me to choose something that I wasn't %100 on board with. She accompanied me to the store and helped me find what would work best. She put together different options for fabrics that all were stunning and again let me make the final decision. She truly has an eye for design and a keen ear for listening to her clients. My husband and I are thrilled with her design of the room, color choices and her professionalism. She was in touch from the start to finish of the project, even checking in with me months after the completion. Donna quoted me a price at the beginning stating that I could reach out as much as needed for her help which was reassuring. It was nice knowing that there would be no hidden costs or extra charges. Donna was great to work with. She helped us with a large renovation -- kitchen/office space, family room, dining room and now she's working on our living room. She's creative, timely and on budget. She has great ideas and finds creative ways to use space. She listened to our needs and helped make sure everything we wanted to have was accounted for. She also worked really well with our contractor and his subs. We get tons of compliments on her work, and I know we couldn't have finished this project without her!

Donna is fabulous to work with!! We tend to be conservative and she understood what we wanted to do with our kitchen and living area, but was also able to get us out of our comfort zone with some of our choices. We are so glad she did because we have received so many compliments on the work that has been done!! I loved everything about working with Donna Hochman of Distinctive Interiors! From our very first meeting, Donna listened and managed to create the Master bedroom we have always wanted but never prioritized. From paint color selection to the smallest pillow detail, our Master Bedroom has become a favorite room in the house. Donna brought a carpenter into the project who built a beautiful and functional window seat and built-in armoire. She maximized the spaces we have in our room and kept our storage needs in mind. Donna is incredibly respectful of budget and had great cost-saving ideas for different aspects of our space. Her guidance was incredible. We will certainly be repeat customers for future projects!

No one likes to be left in a lurch of a major teardown and complete rebuild of a primary residence, but we were with a previous designer for our project in Wellesley. We hired Distinctive Interiors (Donna) mid-way through our project at extremely short notice, upoon the recommendation of our builder. Donna was extremely responsive, supportive, clever, and synched almost immediately to the tenor of our project, the design theme we had started, and mindful of our budget and tight timeline to completion. She has a straightforward approach to design work and open to try to make most ideas a client presents work. The house is gracious, practical, elegant, and warm to our growing family. And it has been recently selected to be featured in their advertising by a local well established bank who did the project funding.

We had the pleasure of working with Donna on a few projects and she was a pleasure to work with. While Donna has a great design eye, we really appreciate and value her professionalism, responsiveness and flexibility. Donna has a great eye! Donna listened to our needs and designed our small space to maximize functionality, comfort and flow, taking advantage of light, glass walls, and high ceilings. It was great to work with Donna, who identified each item and assisted in purchasing all furnishings including flooring, lighting, cabinetry, closets, furniture, carpets and numerous other items.

i recently decided to do a master bedroom makeover. After previously working with Donna to design my living room, dinning area and home office, I knew that I was in very good hands. When we first discussed my goals for the room and budget Donna worked with me to ensure both were met. Donna always presented options to me from fabrics, custom bedding and furniture choices. Donna paid close attention to room size finding the right pieces and layout that gave my room a much grander appearance. I absolutely love my space and could not have done it without her. I strongly recommend highering Donna for any of your design projects.

Donna is such a pleasure to work with. She is energetic, easy to work with, understands a vision and works tirelessly to achieve it, respects the budget set forth and offers great advice/recommendations. Our first project was the master bedroom and dining room which turned out just as I wanted. Just recently she played an integral role in my kitchen and family room expansion/renovation project and I can't wait to work with her on the next room I look to decorate.

Donna did a very good job helping my husband and I decorate our upstairs - bedrooms and office. The results were excellent and we were pleased. She has a keen eye for color. She also worked well with my kids on their rooms. She is very creative and created a stenciled design for our foyer that gets rave reviews. We went far over our budget so I am not sure if this was poor job of her initial budgeting or her not keeping us aware of what we liked versus the budget. I would recommend that in addition to her taking notes from your meetings - you also do. There were several times when there were misunderstandings of what we discussed which resulted in issues at a later date.

Hiring Donna to redo my living room was an absolute pleasure.. She was great at understanding the look I wanted and pushed me a little bit outside of my comfort zone. She delivered on time and on budget.. I had not previously used an interior decorator but now understand the benefits- resources, expertise and value. I can't wait to do another decorating project with her.
