Chris and his crew with Pool Environments built our beautiful pool! We couldn't be happier with their service and work. They listened to our design ideas and created a design that went perfectly with our transitional home. They even recommended cost effective materials that created a similar look to the original more expensive design we originally had. They even gave us design advice when we inadvertently picked a tile that didn't work with our house decor. After reselecting we can't imagine it any other way! We highly recommend this company!

I hired Pool Environments initially to my pool, deck and BBQ area because their pictures on Houzz look awesome. They were more expensive but I took a chance. Initially they estimated mid-January to complete the project but the work wasn't finished until beginning of April. The work was going for the first 3-4 months until the concrete was applied to the pool after that the other just dragged on and meanwhile our backyard was all mud for 10 months. I had to spend $5000 in new grass and $3000 in broken sprinklers and pipes. Regarding the BBQ they didn't even wanted to install the sink I requested, they just left it to me to figure it out. I've should have hire a professional for outdoor kitchens.
They did OK job on the pool but even then the control panel still having issues controlling the lights. I wouldn't recommend them to do anything else. Also if you hire them make sure the sprinkler & grass is included in the quote or they will just be careless of anything is not on their dime.

We have worked with Pool Environments for several years on a variety of different projects. They are some of the best in the industry. They are respectful and professional on the job. They are truly custom, creating pools that are unique and a perfect complement for the home. They have great design suggestions and they know how to build a pool that will last. Sadly, this isn't something we can say of every pool builder we've worked with. We would highly recommend them for anyone looking to add a pool to their home.

Our home was built in a zero-lot line, gated community in South Frisco about 12 years ago. The original owners had a custom pool/spa combination designed and developed very soon after the completion of the home itself. Over the past 12 years, the original owners and I maintained the pool very well and, as a result, it had held up remarkably well for its age. The pool did not require immediate renovation or repairs of any kind when I decided to pursue an elective renovation project with PE. Even though I already knew this assessment to be true, the PE contact I worked with, Mike Sparks, was very honest and upfront during our first consult by independently stating that nothing required immediate attention or renovation.
I decided to pursue an elective renovation on the pool to update the tile line, stone-based water features, aging (but still functional) original plaster, and many pieces of the pool equipment. The pool's design, which was not structurally altered during this reno, is a 17k gallon raised wall spa/pool salt water setup with Oklahoma flagstone coping and a surrounding stamped concrete/flagstone deck. A raised wall existed as a continuation from the spa along the back of the pool edge which had sheer descent water features originally plumbed.
The full scope of the renovation was to strip and recolor the stamped concrete decking, replace the vertical raised wall original soft stone with flagstone, replace select pieces of coping, replace aging stone on a grill center, replace standard water line tile with a glass mosaic block tiling 1x1, replace original white plaster with a blue quartz finish and inlay glass tile edging along stairs/ledges/seats, change sheer descents to stone scuppers in back wall, demo existing equipment, pour new concrete equipment/storage pads, install/plumb/configure all new pool management equipment, and seal all concrete and stone surfaces.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the project and would hire PE and Mike Sparks again to complete major renovation work. I interviewed more than 8 highly-rated, pool renovators in the metroplex, and Mike clearly stood out from the rest. I had all but decided to put off the project to next year until I had a chance to get a bid from PE and understand their approach and how they would manage the attention to detail that I sought. PE has a very strong reputation in the Dallas market and I had a very particular requirement set for the project. While my project was relatively small to many of the projects they undertake, I was able to have many of the same contractors used on their most expensive pools work on my project. Mike ensured his contractors were held accountable for delivering against the high standard I expected and that rework was completed as required. Mike also made sure I understood that PE would stand behind the commitments made, even if it wasn't done right the first time and required alternate contractors to correct. Let me clearly say, this is -crucial- when undergoing a major project because issues will arise; it's not a matter of "if", but a matter of "when". I was always able to reach Mike by phone, day or night, with concerns on the project as they arose and he made sure I understood the plan ahead at all times. While there were some timing delays and a few issues requiring rework, we worked together to solve the problems that arose and ultimately got to a very satisfactory outcome.
The project was completed, the pool and spa look amazing, and am very pleased with the end result. I do not believe that most of the other contractors I interviewed would have demonstrated the same level of commitment and consideration to detail and for that I am very appreciative of Mike and PE.

I am sure for those the Pool Environment SELECTED to work with their experiences are nice and the end products are beautiful. However, for those they do not care to work with, the experience is less then desirable. I paid and had my backyard and pool master plan designed by another architecture firm. When it is time to interview pool builders, I contacted Pool Environment to look at my project and give me a bid on the project. My project is no where a cookies cutter pool and backyard project, and the style of the design is very close to the contemporary style that Pool Environment presented here on Houzz. So, I thought it was a good fit, and set up a meeting with the designer from Pool Environment. The gentleman was very nice in person, and he seemed to like my project, and he said that he was happy to put in a bid on my project. A few weeks gone by, I heard nothing from him. I followed up once through email, and the response was that he will check with the estimator and get back with me. That was last time I heard from Pool Environment. For such a GREAT company, I think that they definitively need some training on being forth coming. I have no problem with them telling me that "we are sorry, but we are not interested in your project because .......", but I have difficulty in understanding the lack of curtesy to even let me know that they are not interested in my project. I wish Pool Environment the very best in continuing to be a great pool builder as they are. However, for them to stay great and be truly successful, there are still lessons to be learned.

Simply stated, if you want the best then hire the best. Working with Randy Angell, the designer, and the whole team has been a truly fantastic experience. Prior to contacting them we had searched some of the top pool hardscape and landscape companies in the area and had met with a few of them. We then met with Randy from Pool Environments and it became clear after the first design images were sent over that he is an artistic genius and that this company is head and shoulders above all of the companies in the area. The company as a whole operates like a family and you can see the love and passion they pour into all elements of the renovation from design to finishing. My wife and I are perfectionists and have a very tough time finding that which is exactly right for us. We went through 10 design iterations and Randy and the team never once got frustrated. It has been a true pleasure and, in the end, we have a backyard that belongs in a design catalogue. Kudos to Pool Environments!

Just wanted to take a few minutes to express our appreciation to the Pool Environments team for an amazing backyard experience! Thanks to Houzz who led us to discover Pool Environments, we were able to quickly dismiss several other contractors reconfirming our satisfaction and excitement in selecting Pool Environments for the job! The team not only listened to what we wanted out of our new pool and outdoor living space, but added every extra detail to create a design that we could've never imagined without them! Who would've known that our backyard would look so good with an all glass blue tile pool, with a sunk in hot tub that seats more than 8 and a wet deck! Not to mention the amazing built in fireplace with a contrasting blue glazed backsplash on top of a sleek glass fireplace! All tied together by amazing patio and landscape design, that leads right up to the outdoor kitchen!
From their extremely creative design team, caring and knowledgable administrative staff, to their very dependable contractors, Pool Environments has a solid home base that made this experience that much more luxurious and enjoyable!
It's been 4 months since our pool and backyard have been finished, and we have enjoyed everyday of it!
Thanks again Pool Environments! Looking forward to working with you on our next home!
Thanks again Tom, Randy, Nancy, Phil and the rest of the Pool Environments team for making our backyard into the suburban resort oasis it is today!
With warm regards,
Brian Falco & Nathan Mulder

Terrible follow-up and customer service. It has been 3 months since our initial consultation meeting . Not once have they initiatied contact or follow-up. We have followed up 3 times -- each time receiving assurances that they would be ready with something (proposal, design, etc.) in the next few days. We have received nothing. I don't see how they receive good reviews with this type of follow-up. We were beyond patient.

Comment from Pool Environments, Inc.:
We wish we would have been able to take this project into construction and show this client that the design was worth the wait! Our reputation for designing and building great projects is what we rely on and we are disheartened to have missed out on transforming this clients backyard. Unfortunately, due to a heavy influx of design requests we were unable to provide the clients design in a timely manner. No excuses will be made. This was a problem of managing expectations and we fell short. We give each project design the same time and attention. Even when we get busy and it would be easy to “rush” through the process, we realize that our clients are going to live with their backyards for years to come and we want them to love it! We do not take criticism lightly. We listen, we learn from it, and do our best to continually evolve and better the experience for our clients.

We hired Pool Environments when we bought a foreclosed home that had a pool that hadn't been properly cared for in years. Not only did they get it back up and running, but they did so with care and concern, efficiency, and good advice. They even referred us our weekly maintenance person who stays in touch with them and they with him for anything else that has come up with the pool, spa and waterfall in the past year since. They have been wonderful and we are thrilled to have them!

Off the list of five pool builders we have chosen to talk to at the beginning of the process, Pool Environments came back with the most incredible design and a promise of first class construction quality and the best experience of having a pool built.
They absolutely came through up to all our expectations and beyond. We've gotten a pool with the most beautiful design in the highest quality of construction. Here is just a list of the reasons why we give them 5 stars. (On the scale of 5, we'd like to give them a 10!)
1. Randy Angell, the greatest mind who has the unequal talent and with the most creative vision of style and taste. He was our designer and our salesperson (without throwing any sales pitches at us). He listened to our needs and wants, and took notes of our budget. Then he came back with a plan that is within our budget, with a design that is artistic, graceful, and of class! My husband, a creative design executive by profession, saw the plan at first sight and told Randy, "You are IT!", without even consulting me (the CFO of the house). Randy stayed with the project way into the process, making sure that the construction was done per plan. We were extremely impressed by the respect that people at PE have for each other. The owner and superintendent would consult Randy at important stage of the construction of the layout, making sure that the pool and the surrounding achieve the esthetics of the design. (Upon our sincere request, Randy graciously agreed to also provide us the landscape design with a very reasonable design fee.)
2. Construction was set to be finished in 8 weeks. It went as smoothly as it could with such a big project, and was completed on schedule. Tom Rozell, the owner of PE, was the superintendent for our pool. He holds the highest standards for the materials they use and the craftsmanship that goes with the pool building at every step. He came to the sites often (almost everyday) and early, made sure that everything was done right. With a great sense of humor that is unmatched, Tom made this project of two months seemed enjoyable and not long enough!
3. Nancy Price, the lady in charge of the scheduling, made the whole process as easy as possible for us. Every Friday, Nancy would email/call us to give us heads up of what to expect in the next week. Beside what they do with all their own contractors, she took all the names of the contractors we choose to use for the new fence, the landscape installation, and the solar pool heating system. She contacted all of them on our behalf, coordinated every scheduling as we sat back relaxed and watched this enormous project rolling smoothly in front of our eyes! Nancy is the greatest marionettes puppet master that keeps every part of the whole project going, untangled.
4. With such a huge undertaking in the mercy of the Texas weather, things did not always go as Nancy planned it to. When there was change because of the weather or other things, Nancy would call and apologize for the change, even when the ultimate schedule wasn't compromised. They would move certain things around to maintain the progress of the project, like doing things that can be done during the rain; moving things normally done after the gunite to before it, etc. While we are certainly sure that our pool wasn't the only project going on at the same time for PE, they sure made it feel like it was!
5. It was a very pleasant surprise for us to realize how neat and clean they keep the backyard clean through the entire project. Each team would clean after themselves every time they were here. Except for a few days because of the rain that made the yard muddy, we were able to use the yard for our dogs the whole two months!
6. The Pool School was a thoughtful and necessary education for us as first time pool owners! Mark was thorough, patient, professional, and friendly, just like everyone else from PE.
7. It has been such a wonderful experience, especially for me personally because I got to see how it was really done every step of the way. I have gained a lot of insight from watching the guys working, and have gained so much respect for everyone in the process. PE runs like a well lubricated machine! It was obvious that all the contractors they use have been with them for a long time. And each team knows the other's work really well. There were the excavator, the gunite people, the mason, the stone man, the electrician, the plumber, the decking guys, plaster people... How fascinating it was just looking at each set of their "toys" alone! I was genuinely amazed and pleasantly entertained at the same time. I shared my observations daily with my family, especially our two children, of how these men worked, ---constantly using tape measures, levelers, markers, --- even for the "simplest" thing like pouring the concrete. There is no "small" job in the world, only "small" men who don't appreciate the "small" things. PE people certainly took care of the every single finest details of the big pool. Everyone was not just building a pool, but truly creating a piece of art of its own put together at the end. The outcome speaks for itself of the kind of standard and artistry Pool Environments holds!
8. We feel very fortunate to have found Pool Environments. We feel that we have chosen a company that is run with respect for their customers, AND respect they have among themselves and for their contractors. We feel that PE is the kind of company that is going to be around as long as we own the pool and beyond. On the first day we met, we were given Randy's and Tom's cell phone numbers. By now, with the pool up and running, we have also been given Mark's number for the maintenance department. There were numerous times when we had to call with our (silly) questions after hour and on the weekends. We were always greeted with a friendly voice and no question from us was ever stupid for them. We know that PE is there for us.
9. Pool Environments has created a backyard haven for us! It is worth every single penny that we have put in for it! PE is not for everyone because of the kind of quality and standard that set their starting price high on the budget. However, if your budget allows, we highly recommend that you give them a call. Visit one of the pools they have built! You won't regret! We feel that we have not only gotten a beautiful pool, we have made many friends at Pool Environments who will be around to help us enjoy many years of pleasure around our pool.
10. This pool is the best investment we have made to ourselves. It has added great value to our quality life together for our family and with our friends.

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Southwest Fence & Deck has been building a reputation for desiging and buildling the highest quality outdoor living spaces in the DFW area for nearly 30 years. After seeing many partners in our industry come and go through the years, it is a rarity to find another company that has also built a solid reputation and values the client experience, like Pool Environments.
Any opportunity to work with the team at Pool Environments is a pleasure. Customer service is their utmost priority and it is apparent when speaking to previous clients. All team members are involved in various associations and remain ahead of the curve in terms of best practices and innovative functionality and design. The design team is extraordinarily creative - any idea you can imagine (and those that you cannot) can be brought to life by the team at Pool Environments. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with this exceptional company.

Pool Environments is one of our preferred pool builders. They offer tons of invaluable technical and cost savings advice when we are designing a new or unusaul pool or fountain. During construction, Pool Environments consistantly does what they say they are going to do and they quickly remedy any minor problems that are inherent to building a water feature. Unlike many pool builders, pool environments has a friendly, professional staff and a legitimate office. I know help is only one call away.

We hired Pool Environments to design and build a modern pool and backyard area for us. Randy Angell was our combination sales/lead designer and spent a good deal of time at the beginning of the project listening to our needs. Our backyard isn't flat and required a bit more in the way of design than your average yard.
Randy presented us with his initial design within a week of the consultation and we immediately knew we'd chosen the right designer. Randy's 3D model made the design come to life.
I won't go into all of the details of the construction phase other than to say that Pool Environments is a well-oiled machine. My wife and I are both project managers by day so it is our nature to micro manage. While this wasn't required, the crew at Pool Environments dealt with our personality quirks and over-explained everything that was happening along the way.
I don't think there was a sub-contractor that had been with them for less than 10 years. All of the subs were familiar with each other and enjoyed working together.
Our project involved an awning (SW Fence and Deck) and landscaping (Knight Design and Consulting.) The total time from design to completion was approximately three months.
I could go into much more detail than this but all you really want to know is whether we'd use them again. I can give them my full recommendation without hesitation or caveat. Nancy, Phil, Randy, Marc and their whole team is first class in every way.

Everyone at Pool Enviornments was absolutley wonderful to deal with from start to finish. We were simply blown away with the end result of our gorgeous pool, no "enviornment" !! They finished in record time and were perfectly on deadline. Granted, we did not have any weather delays. We have thoroughly enjoyed our new back yard. Our friends tend to use our backyard as their photo backdrop for their profile pictures on Facebook !! I can't tell you how many times people see photos of our pool and ask if the photo was take in Las Vegas or a resort in Calif. - We say, "no, just Frisco TX". From the amazing design team ( Randy) to Tom, making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, to the very polite and neat workers, Pool Enviornments is top notch !! Several of our friends have alreday asked us for their number to begin their own fabulous Pool Enviornment - Needless to say, we highly recommend them......Leslie Eastwood, Frisco Texas

It was an absolute pleasure working on this pool project with such a professional and creative staff. I really enjoyed the collaborative process of everyone that was involved to help design, schedule, manage and deliver an amazing pool and outdoor living area. Not only did Pool Environments surpass my expectations on the design, they did it within my budget and on time.
Having built two other pools prior to this one with other local pool companies, Pool Environments definitely delivers excellent quality and service to their clients. Randy, Chris, Tom, Phil and all the staff in the office helped to make this such an exciting addition to my house.
