The homeowners started by hiring an architect to develop a vision and plan for transforming their very traditional brick home into a contemporary family home full of modern updates. The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn was hired to provide kitchen design expertise and to bring the vision to life. The bamboo cabinetry and white Ceasarstone countertops provide contrast that pops while the white oak floors and limestone tile bring warmth to the space. A large island houses a Galley Sink which provides a multi-functional work surface fantastic for summer entertaining. And speaking of summer entertaining, a new Nana Wall system — a large glass wall system that creates a large exterior opening and can literally be opened and closed with one finger – brings the outdoor in and creates a very unique flavor to the space. Matching bamboo cabinetry and panels were also installed in the adjoining family room, along with aluminum doors with frosted glass and a repeat of the limestone at the newly designed fireplace. Slate Gray painted alder cabinets mixed with those fashioned from distressed oak keep the kitchen "piecy", as if renovated over time. Maximizing the functionality of this space, and coordinating the new kitchen with the beautiful remodel completed previously by the client were the two most important aspects of this project. The existing spaces are elegantly decorated with an open plan, dark hardwood floors, and natural stone accents. The new, lighter, more open kitchen flows beautifully into the client’s existing dining room space. Satin nickel hardware blends with the stainless steel appliances and matches the satin nickel details throughout the home. The fully integrated refrigerator next to the narrow pull-out pantry cabinet, take up less visual weight than a traditional stainless steel appliance and the two combine to provide fantastic storage. The glass cabinet doors and decorative lighting beautifully highlight the client’s glassware and dishes. The upper hanging is just so much more accessible when using pull down clothing rods. We engineered these custom shaped shelves to allow the pull down handle to be reachable from the ground while the upper doors are closed.

Includes two pull down closet rods, two pant pullouts, six oval closet rods, two valet rods, one scarf rack pullout, one belt rack pull out, one standard jewelry tray. Maximum vertical space utilization meets custom organization. This walk-in closet installation features bright white custom millwork with warm natural wood-accented clothing rods. To make the most of the high ceilings, the upper section is outfitted with heavy-duty pull-down closet rods, allowing easy access to off-season or higher-tier hanging storage. The lower section includes multi-level hanging space and a central built-in three-drawer dresser topped with a staging counter.

This walk through Master Dressing room has multiple storage areas, from pull down rods for higher hanging clothes, organized sock storage, double laundry hampers and swing out ironing board. The large mirrored door swings open to reveal costume jewelry storage. This was part of a very large remodel, the dressing room connects to the project Master Bathroom floating wall and Master with Sitting Room.
