Yes, they are phone-and-key cubbies, one fore each member of the family. Each cubby has a duplex outlet inside for charging mobile devices.

R. Williams, yes there is. The reason why it's not necessarily recommended is because the mounting hardware for most frameless glass enclosures are floor mounted with screws, hence holes are made to accommodate the clamps. Water seepage is a possibility within the pan if the holes are not waterproofed during installation.
A design (like image attached) is the solution. A top rail is used for support and rigidity and NO clamps are used at all. The glass is bonded onto the floor surface with a strong, mildew resistant, yet removable caulking.

The design of this house has it all, the decorations are more than I would want but this is certainly a great city house with all the right things for surviving in a war zone like Chicago

Love all the beautiful details, and that the house clearly suits the client.

I'm not so sure about the open-work stairs being over the kitchen. That seems like dirt from people's shoes might get through and end up on your kitchen counters. Sure, the treads are solid, but stuff could get kicked through, you know?

Here's another nice option but you'd have to adjust where stairs enter for your porch.

We added this front seating area to this vacation rental and everyone loves sitting on this patio. There is also an entry porch/seating area above it. You could do a covered entry porch and then step down to a lower sitting area in front of the window. It could be a nice mix of either concrete or decking materials with landscaping. This patio is more traditional in style, but you can make yours more modern with a rectangular shape deck or patio with modern planter boxes. The planter boxes would provide a discreet barrier between you and the street (assuming you face a street).

We currently have a large renovation project that was a referral from Houzz. I think Houzz is one of the most targeted tools available to reach prospective clients (aside from referrals). I rarely meet a homeowner that is not using Houzz (and the one's who are not, thank us for providing them with the site). I definitely believe Houzz has increased our exposure and interest in our business. - Shannon

I have gotten even more interested clients BUT I will say half of them have absolutely no concept of budget or what things cost. Honestly I love Houzz and I think they do a great job BUT budget minded people can't look at most of the interiors of homes and realistically get the same look for a 5k budget!

Fragle. Hello. Not sure if you must have the loveseat in the kitchen area? I would move it out of the space and build a larger island that works for your family. I would add two small-scale swivel chairs to place in front of the fireplace. I would suggest adding a rug, drapery panels, a chandelier and plants in in the conservatory. Also, you might consider changing out your table to a round one...it would fit better in the octagon space. Remove the black swivel chair from dining area. Having said all that...you might also consider bringing a smaller table into the kitchen area and turning the conservatory into a comfy family room! Lots of possibilities!

Yes it will add a lot - you may want to bring some of the tones of the cabinet and counter into the backsplash.
