John was great to work with! He was patient and responsive and thought it took a while to get to the finished plan he stuck with us through the whole thing and gave us attention the whole time. He was great at giving us the right amount of pushback to our ideas to encourage us to think through what we wanted, develop new ideas, and ultimately come away with a plan that was truly our own and suited to our tastes and our home's space. Having his plans in place was a great benefit in working with and finding the right builder for our project as well as negotiating a price as there wasn't a lot of guesswork among the bidders. All of them were equally impressed with the plan as well. We're half way through completing our project now, and it's been so great to see it all come to life!

Working with John to complete our basement design was far easier than we would have imagined. Not to mention, he rethought and designed our space in way we never would have imagined! The space utilization was exactly what we were looking for and he even gave us everything we asked for on our initial design questionnaire. Started to work with John in October of 2018 to design our basement. He was very responsive and helped to walk through the different steps along the way. He provided a few different design options to start and once my wife and I chose the basic design we worked with John to refine it to our liking. His design really maximized the basement space, much more so than what our builder was offering as a finished basement solution. Once we got to the final design, John provided an extremely good blueprint of the basement that was ready for submitting to our county's building department. I took on the challenge of doing all of the work myself and with John's design, and some homework on my part, the basement finishing passed all inspections the first time and turned out to be incredibly beautiful and well timed addition to our house. I feel very fortunate to have found John’s service on the Internet. The process of measuring and design took several months, but the quality of the design was so good, I didn’t mind spending the extra time to get things right. Getting involved in the design process also made me feel very confident that I would be very happy with the final design. It turned out that the township I lived in required an engineering drawing signed off by an architect, and when my contractor submitted the drawing for a permit, they accepted it no questions asked. The contractor printed the drawing to scale, backed it with a foam board, and using it for the project throughout. Definitely got my money’s worth, I can’t wait for the project to be finished!
