I had a very large project in the Denver area I was needing design expertise on, and Eric and his team went above and beyond to ensure that we were able to deliver the project with the most amount of detail available. Eric was great to work with!!! We remodeled a farmhouse that was originally built in the early 1900's 10 years ago. In that time our family grew to 6, so we needed more room and wanted to put on a master bedroom/bathroom addition and a wrap around porch. We had no idea how to tie the roof lines together and keep the original character of the house. We met Eric at a home show and hired him to draw up the plans. He met with us multiple times to help us explore different ideas and tweek them just right. The final result turned out amazing!

Eric was professional and listened to our needs and wishes to build our dream home. We had several different ideas that we liked and he created a plan that incorporated all those ideas into a gorgeous house. He was very quick to make the changes that we requested and was an absolute pleasure to work with. If ever I get the opportunity to build another house, Eric will be the first person I contact.

Eric has now completed three set of plans for me for three different houses I have renovated. He is extremely easy to work with and can take the ideas I have in my head an put them on paper without trouble. I have never had an issue when applying for permits with Eric's plans. The engineering office has even complimented the quality of his plans considering the work I do is renovations rather than new construction.

We contacted Eric after previously working with another home designer. Eric turned out to be a great fit for us. We had lived in our 100 year old home for 17 years and had definite ideas about our next home. We presented our ideas and Eric was able to create the "forever" home we were envisioning. During the process it became evident how valuable his knowledge was to us. His use of the virtual plan made all the difference in helping us to see the final product. Plus, that was exciting to actually visualize what he was creating. We couldn't be more pleased with the experience and the result of his diligent work. Felt like we made a friend along the way.

Overall, Eric did a fantastic job designing on our reitrement home. From a rough initial idea, he crafted a highly functional yet beautiful interior layout that uses space wisely and features great (open) gathering places with effective traffic flow patterns. He made at least a dozen material improvements in the plan as we progressed. He was FLEXIBLE. Example: Designing in 12' plate cathedral ceiling in the Great Room and dining room, as well as expanding the all-stone-to-ceiling fireplace. Importantly, the final design was NOT what we expected going in -- it was substantially better than expected. We are delighted. Finally, Eric was FAST and COST EFFECTIVE. The initial design and iterations all came sonner than I expected, including a complete 180 mirror inversion of the plan in one day. His fee was modest and a great value. Eric has our unqualified highest recommendation.

Eric designed our new house. He worked closely with us and listened to our wants and needs. He was very patient and attentive. He was flexible but at the same time provided excellent suggestions and alternatives. He never made us feel rushed to accept a plan and in fact made a few modifications right up to construction. The end result of his efforts was our forever house that was exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Eric Holt to anyone interested in building a custom home.

Eric Holt was courteous, helpful, and responsive. This is the second project I've hired Mr Holt for and I am very happy with the design and layout of my new home. Eric met and exceeded all of our expectations and then some! He definitely took the home designing process from something exciting but daunting to exciting and incredibly fun. His ability to take your ideas and turn them into exactly what you were picturing is astonishing! He was also overly flexible, patient, and easy to get along with. Highly recommend! In 2012 my family and I were looking in a very specific neighborhood. It was an old neighborhood with homes 50-80 years old. We stumbled on a 1957 two story that had never been updated. It was being sold by the original owner and had fallen into substantial disrepair. We contacted Eric Holt Design to help us with a creative design, construction documents, and leadership in the construction. We met several times during the design phase. Eric was able to listen to what we wanted/needed and was able to dovetail it into a creative design. He also created a 3 dimensional model that was able to explain the plan to our entire family, including our children. Eric also led us through the vairance process with our county. He filed the paperwork and attended the plan comission meeting with us. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that the plan commissioners approved it quickly when they saw that it was an EHD project. The work included a complete gut including an entire new exterior and a new family room and garage addition. The work also included a new gourmet kitchen. Eric opened the design up and we have a modern floorplan that works with a 5 person family with kids 5-11. We are very happy with the house and look forward to growing old in it. Eric even made provisions for us to age in place in the house with a master suite on the first floor. After this experience I would recommend EHD to anyone. I have seen his commercial work and residential work. All customers are very complimentary. Our house has not only appreciated from the actual construction, but the inovative design has increased the value much more than the fee for EHD's service. His use of space and planning gave us a real bang for the buck. There were contractors who offered to include "design" in their price. We have seen those houses. They are lack luster and have a poor use of space. We are very thankful that we hired a professional designer to help us. He more than made up for his fee in his design and ability to communicate with the contractors. We have since referred many friends to EHD.
